ACS 130 Report post Posted April 1, 2009 ^^^^ Boss is it really 465 KB per sec ? @ Arun you listening.. maybe BSNL too needs a lecture on KB & Kb.
myforum 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 Reliance is best in this segment
Arun 795 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 ^^^^ Boss is it really 465 KB per sec ?@ Arun you listening.. maybe BSNL too needs a lecture on KB & Kb. 465 kB/sec = around 3.6 mbps. BSNL EVDO is using Rev.0 which has a maximum download speed (technically) of 2.4 mbps only. So I am not sure how that was possible?
srk006 21 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 (edited) Probably the shown speed is just a burst. If it is 465KB/s the download of 360MB should be over in 15 minutes. is it not? Edited April 2, 2009 by srk006
@mitJ@in 256 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 My 316 MB Win Xp Sp3 was over in 16 minutes in Reliance NetConnect HSD
srk006 21 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 ^^ Exactly! That's what I wanted to say in my previous post. The speed and the remaining time just does not match.
sahiltanwar 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 OMG! how can people like NetConnect, Im tired of it within a months time!!! Anyways, voted for Photon as I have read good reviews about it!
ACS 130 Report post Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) ^^^^ In which way would it be better ? Atleast from those reviews.. 1) Tata website has fake info.. they have mentioned it as 3.1 Mbps whereas REV-0 by nature gives Max 2.4 Mbps. 2) Upload is like CDMA 1x. 3) Available only in 5-6 citites compare to RComm's 35 + cities. Saggy 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2009 I am a moderate downloader and usually download 30-40 GB/month. However, after getting BSNL EVDO my total download in a month was 70+ GB. considaring Rs.550 for the EVDO, its a steal. BSNL may not be best for blazzing surfing speeds (for me upto 100 KB works) but is good at downloads and torrents. U can get twice or thrice of 256 kb unlimited connection at almost half the price of it. There is no limit on download. upload speed ****s sometime. with all this my vote is for BSNL. savramesh 37 Report post Posted June 17, 2009 BSNL evdo internet tariff seems to interesting unlimited @ 550 per month Offer valid till 30-6-2009 Check BSNL webpage for more details will this works on roaming ? i wonder bsnl evdo unlimited upto 2Mbps [550] is cheaper than broadband unlimited 256kbps [750]
MVP 3 Report post Posted June 17, 2009 BSNL may not be best for blazzing surfing speeds (for me upto 100 KB works) but is good at downloads and torrents. You get good speeds for torrents? BSNL blocks port forwarding, so torrents work pathetically. Can you tell me the speed that you get for torrents and whether the port used for torrents is open for your connection? Saggy 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2009 Yes, torrents do work and port forwarding is allowed. I get a green icon while using utorrent. My pc is on 24x7 and the download is @2.5-3 GB/day. The speed varies a lot and i have not experianced speed only till 170 kbyte/sec. however the avg speed is 40-50 kbytes. I am using it on roaming as the card was not available in pune and had to ask my cousin to source it for me from Nagpur(both cities are in same state). Sliding a CD into the EVDO antenna did improve the signal stability. Daytime speeds may **** sometime. I was not in favor of EVDO but had no choice. thankfully I ended up with a good and cheap connection.
