Press Trust of India New Delhi, November 16, 2009 - 15:07 IST Reliance Communications today launched a new VAS branded, mVDO promising to offer its subscribers a rich experience while watching, sharing, searching and uploading videos over the WAP medium. The search options allows users to search videos from various categories while download feature presents video in an optimized form by converting them at the backend enabling users to receive the videos in 3GP format which the most popular format for viewing videos on mobile handsets. The Upload feature of the services allows to upload videos from mobile phones which in turn will lead to a video link of the uploaded video to be shared with the user via the SMS channel allowing the user to access the video at a later time. The Share feature to be introduced soon will allow the link to be shared with other users. Mr Krishna Durba, Head – VAS, Reliance Communications said, “The number of video enabled phones today far exceeds Internet Users (who have access to videos on the net through sites like YouTube etc.). Users today are extremely mobile and like having access to information and entertainment on-the-go. A platform like mVDO enables downloads, uploads and impromptu sharing – which is the need of customers today” Mr. Rajiv Hiranandani, Co-founder & Executive director, Altruist – Mobile2Win said, “UGC content is at the heart of social networking communities and our Video UGC product is well suited to cater to the needs of the urban and rural Indian consumer who is eager to share his/her experiences with like minded people. We feel that here will be a huge uptake in rural India given that this product will be accessible to all Mobile consumers who own mobile phones and not only restricted to those 35 million who have Mobile Internet on their handsets.” The service is available over various subscription options varying from a week to month with price generally at Re.1 per day

More loose ends than closed ones at the end of pre-bid conference. Operators maul DoT for clarity. India’s 3G Auction: “You’re Dealing The Cards On 8th, But We Can’t Play Blind” source :: http://www.medianama.com/2009/11/223-indias-3g-auction-youre-dealing-the-cards-on-8th-but-we-cant-play-blind/ TRAI is preparing 2 key recommendations at this point of time which will have greater implication on 3G auction. 1) Future spectrum policy 2) M&A guidelines on UASL players Even the above 2 recommendations are interlinked to each other. DoT should wait till both those recommendations are released by TRAI and implemented by DoT. This way DoT can avoid chain of litigations after the 3G auction. Its better that DoT releases "mock auction software game" to operators 15 days prior to auction so that operators can get acquainted with the auction rules by playing the game on their own.

after reading and hearing from users since last some mnths , i feel that palm treo isnt as durable as we all are talking abt many users have complained touch screen problems , not to mention key and network issues as well i have not seen that many mogul/touch users complaining abt touchscreens as much as i have seen treo755 owners having problems no doubt its a solid phone , but now i have second thoughts abt durability of this handset on an average basis
