PGP Portal-Telecom Related Complaints & Resolution It Worked, Share Your Successful Resolution in this Topic. There have been suggestions in many other topics to lodge your Telecom & Mobile Subscriber related complaints at Portal For Public Grievances against your Operators as a last resort if you have exhausted all aveneues and still did not find a resolution. Some have been very skeptical about effectiveness, Some actually have been successful using this medium and Some have been strongly urging everyone to use this medium. To be Honest, i belonged to the skeptical category. But still as a last resort wanted to give it a try for a long standing problem with Reliance Communications regarding Non De-Activation of Mobile TV subscription & Refund of about 7 months subscription. The Problem Story... -Activated Mobile TV All Rs 149 Per Month Pack in R-CDMA through RWorld in the Month of August-2010 when i had an OMH Handset. -In less than a month, got Palm Pixi which does not support RWorld directly. Before switching to Pixi, Tried De-Activating Mobile TV Subscription from Old OMH Handset. There was no De-Activation Option at all. -Called Customer Care requesting De-Activation. -10-12 Complaints, Every time complaints closed without De-Activation. 30-35 Calls. No Result. Finally was asked to Visit Web World for Resolution. -Did so. At First visit WebWorld told that De-activation will be done and refund will be considered. -Was Disgusted and thinking of living R-CDMA for good & then got Fascinate with EVDO. Still decided on porting out. Generated port code & then again visited Webworld. -3 Such visit to Webworld. Problem not solved. Webworld said Backend responded saying it can not be De-Activated by them... Can be done only from the handset through RWorld. -Paid MobiTV subcription every month from September 2010 till March 2011 without actually using it. Finally on 13th March 2011, lodged the complaint on http://pgportal.gov.in It is a common portal for many ministries & you have to select Telecom Ministry. There is a registration process. Your registered complaint becomes User ID & Password you can select. You can then track the status of the complaint, give reminder or additional info after logging in. After about 3 days, complaint showed the status of forwarded to Reliance Communications. Name of some Reliance Official was appearing. I thought OK... The Postman doing his job of just forwarding. Nothing happened for a month. On 12th April again checked the complaint status & it was now showing UNDER PROCESS instead of Forwarded. On 15th April received a call from some senior sounding official from Reliance Corporate Center. He politely asked me whether i complained to Govt. of India? Yes. He then inquired which Webworld i visited for resolution? Thereafter he said since Saturday, Sunday is a holiday, i can expect to receive a feedback on Monday. Also said that he will ensure that i will be updated properly and don't need to call them again. After a formal sounding sorry, conversation was over. 18th April Received a Call from a lady at Reliance Corporate Center. Told me she has been assigned to monitor resolution of this complaint & will update me with the results. 19th April Same lady called up to say that MobileTV subscription is now de-activated and Refund for 7 months is being processed. 20th April Lady again called up to say, Refund has been processed & credited to my account & will appear in Next Bill. After some time, a formail mail from Reliance Corporate Center confirmed the same. Still not convinced, checked my online account with RComm.... Voilla... Credit Balance For The First Time in 7 Years... Status of MobiTV De-activation will be confirmed only when the bill comes. The whole purpose of writing this lengthy post is to make everyone aware that PGP Portal may not just be a Postman & we can take benefit of it for Redressal of Telecom Grievances after exhausting all avenues with our operator. If it was just a Postman, why would Reliance Communications have bothered at all particularly when it did nothing for over 7 months despite so much follow up and even a port out request from an old customer. We all know that legally PGP Portal may not have legislative power to act again Telcos, but there must be that SOMETHING ELSE which might be forcing Telcos to consider & resolve complaints lodged through it. I have no idea what that Something Else is and don't bother at all. The problem got resolved and that's what matters. So Please take benefit of this recourse and try it. Also request all who have been Successful through this medium for different problems to post here... So More Members Can Be Aware...

4G/LTE Developments in US China and Russia and Japan 1. US - LTE is being launched by both AT&T and Verizon – biggest carriers in US. Only Sprint Nextel is on WIMAX and is rumoured to be shifting to LTE in near future a. Wimax Devices available as of now – 10 b. LTE devices available as of now – 9 2. China Mobile is also rolling out TD LTE network in 2300/2500 Mhz spectrum – similar to Indian market . 3. DOCOMO (Japan) and Vodafone (Europe) will also roll out FDD LTE in 800 Mhz band 4. YOTA- Russian carrier which is the biggest WIMAX deployed network in the world – is also planning to shift to LTE. Interestingly, YOTA’s biz model is being a third party 4G provider to all existing operators in Russia, so MTS user in Russia when he wants to use 4G automatically shifts to YOTA network on his 4G enabled handset Hence TD LTE Devices will be global & will evolve much like GSM Quadband devices Technology coexistence with existing standards (GSM/CDMA) 5. For both LTE and WIMAX - Co-existence with legacy standards (users can transparently start a call or transfer of data in an area using an LTE standard, and, should coverage be unavailable, continue the operation without any action on their part using GSM/GPRS or UMTS or CDMA 6. However, LTE in US is deployed at 700 Mhz in FDD LTE while in India the available spectrum band is 2300. Hence much like GSM evolution earlier, we will probably see launch of quad band handsets within LTE WIMAX currently operates on 2300 Mhz spectrum primarily both in US and Russia The FDD LTE and TD-LTE versions of the 3GPP standard are very similar. As a result, devices can support both the FDD and TDD interfaces through a single chipset--i.e., without any additional cost. This is a hugely important new development: TD-LTE will benefit from the wide availability of FDD LTE devices that will be able to support TD-LTE as well. Unlike WiMAX, TD-LTE does not need to prove to have a substantial market share to convince vendors to develop devices. Vendors do not need to develop new devices, they simply need to add TD-LTE support to the existing ones. Hence I believe Reliance Infotel will 1. Adopt LTE TDD 2. Source devices from China and US markets etc 3. Might become bulk data seller to other GSM, CDMA operators 4. Acquire strategic stake in Reliance Infratel (since ADA has unsucessfully tried to list the company) company 5. Acquiring spectrum from Etisalat, Videocon is also possible as both will be in the market after 2011 NTP Already Aircel – other BWA winner has tested LTE and might go that route

Active Cable Internet 2. Laptop 3. Wifi on Laptop 4. Wired net connection 5. Or USB Data Card Once you have all the above things mentioned, you are all set to follow the steps: How to setup HotSpot on Windows7 1. Got to Control Panel 2. Click on "Network and Sharing Centre" 3. Under Tasks choose "Setup New Connection" 4. Wireless "Ad-hoc network" 5. Now type in a "Network Name" 6. Choose "WEP" from drop down menu, input the password if you don't want to share the connection with the entire world 7. Click "Internet connection sharing" 8. Done! How to setup HotSpot on Windows Vista: 1. Got to Control Panel 2. Click on "Network and Sharing Centre" 3. Under Tasks choose "Setup New Connection" 4. Wireless "Ad-hoc network" 5. Now type in a "Network Name" 6. Choose "WEP" password if you don't want to share the connection with the entire world 7. Click "Internet connection sharing" 8. Done! Now a WiFi enabled machine will be able to connect to the network you have just setup with the WEP password Lets setup a HotSpot on a Windows XP machine: 1. Go into Control panel 2. Open "Network Connections" 3. Right click on "Wireless Connection" and click on "Properties" 4. Click on the "Wireless Networks" tab and select the check-box which says "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" 5. Under "Prefered networks" click "Add" 6. Type a name in "Network name" text box 7. Select "Shared" from the options under "Network Authentication" 8. Under Data encryption select "WEP" and type in your password in "Network Key" field and now click "OK" 9. Now the new HotSpot should show in the list of preferred networks. 10. Click on the "Advance" button and select "Computer-to-computer (ad hoc) networks only" and press close 11. Hit "OK", we are done with the wireless connection properties One more step, we have to change something in the wired connection setting so that it knows that it has to share connection with the computers accessing our HotSpot. 1. Go to local Area Connections(if wired) or Data Card Connection, right click it and select properties 2. Go to the "Advanced" tab or Sharing in Win7 & Vista and under Internet Connection Sharing check the box which says "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" and make sure the box under that is NOT selected so that no one can disable the network remotely. 3. webOS doctor will help you to install ROMs. webOS quickinstall is used for installing applications and patches. You have to be in developer mode for using this application. The drivers which you downloaded from Hitesh's post are diag drivers. When you connect your phone to pc it will automatically download everything. You will be notified to either choose usb mode or just charge. For transferring photos, music etc. you have to select usb mode.

I have used companion link as well as the missing sync - but is not that good i had the old version though - instead use gmail contact sync BTW what do you mean by connect - if its for flashing or downloading then there are methods - do u want them? if its for sync go for gmail
