If you have been pretty satisfied with Vodafone service otherwise in those 11 years, i think you should try adopting a different strategy for that weaker signal... Contact Vodafone, lodge a complaint, request a booster in your premise. You may have to contact higher ups like Nodal, Directly to Senior Level for this thing to materialise in case Customer Care ignores. Many people in the past have been successful in getting Vodafone boosters in their office if majority of the office area was with less/broken coverage. You being a Doctor & customer of 11 years have a strong case. Give it a Try. Secondly for Tariffs, If your signal problem do get sorted out, then put in a port out request, negotiate strongly with Retention, Keep all the proof of your interaction (Voda of late has been notorious for promising something & not giving lateron) and get a better plan. Again people have got very good retention plans from Vodafone. See This Topic MNP Retention Offer You Received. What i am trying to say is that with this Telco behemoths of today, play strategically first (above steps) and if that fails, then only emotionally (showing them the boot). May yield better results.

Our Company is providing maintenance of power supplies / UPS / Rectifiers for Indus. Though we are not directly involved in the Radio Infrastructure but I can say that this problem is due to overlaying of 2.1GHz Radio units alongside the old 900/1800 DRUs and simultaneously using the old microwave infrastructure for Tower to Tower to MSC datalinks. The multiplicity of devices have made the network very complex. Airtel Delhi is the oldest operator using oldest equipment and has very heavy traffic. Others can also face such problems though companies like vodafone have slowing been upgrading their older systems. These kind of outrages are not likely in CDMA systems. Interconnectivity in CDMA is through fibre optic links and also for CDMA to work, all Towers in same SID have to transmit in sync ( CDMA is different technology all together )

There's no website to check the total usage of Wimax. You can use some freeware like networx or some tool to to check the usage.

I think they must have appointed all retired nationalize bank employee, or other govt. employee in retain Dept.,i am getting almost 2-3 calls per day asking me reason for port-out request, so with all frustration i gave them all false report that i am getting 800(L+STD),750 free sms,2 GB GPRS etc... & i was shock when that guy was ready to give me all such things which i was offered from Vodafone. he was ready to give me 2GB GPRS in CDMA , So those who really wanted to port out from Reliance please don't believe them, just go ahead with your port out procedure. While writing this reply again i got call from that same dept. now he has offered me to visit my office & giving me same offer in writing, let's see will update you on rimweb.

The best tip i can give you for extracting the maximum from Vodafone is.... Keep Your Wife OR Mother as Role Model For Inspiration in bargaining skills.... See how they don't feel shy or ashamed at all while extracting the last penny out of that Vegetable Seller, Cloth Vendor, OR from anybody when they Shop... Their Only Target is to Get The Most Bang For Their Buck...Still they know how far to stretch...So the Deal Won't Break... 99% of the Time They Are Successful... We Man most of the time feel it below our Dignity to bargain & negotiate....And end up filling coffers of Vodafone... So when that Vodafone Guy Calls You, he will invariably ask What Plan You are getting from a Different Operator and Will Try To Match Up With That Plan... Don't fall in that Trap, I will rephrase the famous saying "Don't ask what your country can do for you. Ask instead what you can do for your country" ... "Don't Ask What Vodafone Customers Can Do For Them, Ask What Vodafone Can Do For Their Customers" Ask him What Best Plan he can offer you for retaining you as Vodafone Customer... If you get something better than What i Got...Take it... OR the name of Plan Which i got is CC175...Ask For That Plan... BTW there is no free Data in that Plan.. But You Can subscribe to Rs 99-2GB Pack in Postpaid.. Best of Luck...
