4 pointsHad around 137 Hours, i'e 5.7 Day Battery Life on Samsung Fascinate Have been trying various methods for increased battery life on android. Most have been hit & miss. Now during one such random method, seems to have hit jackpot. Sharing here the full details. Total Battery Life After Charge: 137 Hours. What was done prior to charging: Battery was allowed to drain out completely. (Phone shut down on its own after battery was fully exhausted) Pulled out Battery for approx. 2 minute & then put on. Charged the battery fully while the phone remained Switched Off. Phone Settings During The Whole Usage: WiFi was Switched Off from settings/Wireless & Network/Wi-Fi Settings (Enabled during use & again switched off immediately from there) EVDO was Switched Off by pressing Power Button/Phone Options/Mobile Data ((Enabled during use & again switched off immediately from there) Screen Brightness kept at lowest level from Settings/Display Settings/Brightness. Automatic Brightness De-Selected. Power Saving Mode was enabled Settings/Display Settings/Power Saving Mode. Screen Timeout 30 Seconds. Animation: No Windows Animation from Settings/Display Settings/Animation. Vibration & Haptic Feedback Disabled. Phone Usage during this 137 hours? Voice Calls: 140 Minutes. Data: 50 MB EVDO Data Downloaded. (Mainly for App Updates) Browsing : 45 Minutes of Browsing (In addition to above data download) through Wi-Fi+EVDO on Opera Mobile Browser. SMS: Approx 100 received & read. Approx 10 typed & send. Music: Music playback from SD Card for Approx 1 Hour. Sync: Email sync twice a day. Broad Conclusions: Whether it's past battery stats/some system file/or something else, i think something might be keeping battery from being fully recharged while the Android OS is in operation. None of this thing will affect when the phone is switched off while recharging. While my voice usage may tend to be on the lower side, i still believe "What was done prior to charging" gave me an exceptional long battery life compared to my past experience. Keeping Wi-Fi/Data on 24 hours consumes most battery. While this is no rocket science but disabling that and using only when needed did not hamper much of the things for me as PC/Laptop was there in front most of the time. Keeping screen brightness to lowest level also was not of much difficulty. It was still very readable/workable. Scientific/Irrational whatever, i got a tremendous battery life. Would love to hear comments/experience from fellow members. why not try this on your phone to see whether you get any additional battery life with your typical usage?

1 point<< This service is not active anymore, so requests will NOT be accepted now. Please check: >> Ok guys... Now we are available here on RIMweb.in to provide the EVDO activation to Aam Admi who are unable to get it through the Reliance Contact Centre and/or Reliance Outlets. Following are the rules and regulations:- 1. EVDO Activation Request will be processed only for RIMweb.in Registered members having more than 10 posts. 2. Members need to send an email from the email address registered with your RIMweb.in profile with the following details to: evdo@rimweb.com or evdo@rimweb.in (please send to either one only and not both!!) RIMweb.in member username (this is the forum registration member profile username so that we can check your post count and NOT your full name) MDN - 10 Digit Number RSN - RSN Number of the handset/OMH Sim Card Handset - with model # Alternate Contact Number - Any Alternate Mobile Number to which a confirmatory call shall come from Mumbai Reliance Headquarters for EVDO Confirmation. 3. After sending the email the member will receive a confirmation email within the next 7 days. Members cannot make any irate demands for the activation of EVDO. We shall pick up the numbers once in a week for activation and the member should understand that it may take upto 10 days; though we will be trying to activate in 2-3 working days normally. 4. This activation procedure is meant for members who have purchased an EVDO handset along with OMH Sim Card (like Samsumg Galaxy POP, Corby, SCH 369, SCH 239, LG 510 Cookie, LG 235 etc.) from Reliance for which the EVDO parameters are already registered in OMH Sim Card with Reliance. The number/connection of the member should be on either an OMH SIM Card or a Non Sim handset which is having EVDO Facility and whose EVDO Parameters are also registered with Reliance. 5. An SMS will arrive on the member's handset regarding a request being registered at a Reliance Outlet and asking for overall experience. Member needs to either reply with "YES" or leave it. Please DO NOT reply with "NO". If we get a "NO" SMS from any member, then this project for EVDO Activation shall be closed immediately. And after getting EVDO Activated, Memeber may confirm us by posting here in this thread. Regards Amit Jain -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please Read This: How is EVDO activated on Reliance CDMA? There are two steps for EVDO Activation First, the parameters of EVDO should be registered for the handset in Reliance Server. In case of OMH SIM Card and Official Reliance BlackBerry having EVDO (BlackBerry 9630, 9650, 9230, Style etc.) and Official Reliance Non SIM EVDO Handsets (Like - Samsung Atlas, Coolpad N900), the parameters are already registered with Reliance. And in case of Imported handsets, you need to check whether your EVDO parameters are registered with Reliance or not. We are NOT here for REGISTERING THE EVDO PARAMATERS of imported handsets. Second step is after your EVDO Paramters are available in Reliance Server, EVDO won't start automatically. We have to submit request for EVDO; WE ARE HERE DOING THIS WORK ONLY in this thread. We have seen many members asking for help to do this as Customer Care is clueless about it and that is why we are helping here. Additional Notes: * Making EVDO work on imported handset requires programming the handset with necessary HSD PRL's, HSD username and password in addition to the handset parameters being registered in Reliance Servers. That is outside the scope of this initiative. You may contact your handset seller for necessary assistance to register EVDO parameters at Reliance and configure in your handset if your handset's MEID/ESN is registered with Reliance. * We can activate EVDO on BlackBerry handsets only if you have active BIS Service (CDMA) on the handset. In Case of BlackBerry handsets, member will not get any Service Request SMS. We will get EVDO activated on BlackBerry handsets directly from AAA Phongen Team. * To configure handset like Samsung Galaxy POP CDMA: Go to Setting > Wireless > Mobile Network > APN > Add new APN > Username = MDN (10 digit number) Password = MDN (10 digit number) Homepage – www.google.com Save it and then select it as default. You can use now as per your NetConnect Traiff plan You can change NetConnect plans by calling: 180030005555 All data plans available for Reliance Mobile CDMA can be found in this topic plan details.doc plan details_smaller_file.pdf

1 pointIts good that u are getting such great battery life with ur setup ( the recent stock ROMS let alone debloated , deodexed ones are really snappier and faster i believe ) But then if you are happy, who are we. But i would like to know how your fascinate will fare with above normal usage , i mean regular internet use , browsing , downloading , gaming and all, live wallpaers more frequent app syncing coz as far as my knowledge goes DL30 was actually leaked froyo , and it seemed resonably stable at the time. The measures that you have taken will help no doubt on any setup ( but yes charging while off after calibrating the battery is good indeed ) I use my handset a lot i mean really i love my fascinate and just cant leave it idle for a min when i am free so from my perspective i feel these things are also beneficial : The biggest advantage in terms of backup comes ( irrespective of any ROM ) from having a undervolt kernal ( -50 works the best and is safest otherwise -100 and SV are also there) the best radio ( which are till date EA28 and Ed04 - Ed04 is awesome as it kicks the evdo speed way too much side by side making 2 to 3 bars of signal out of 1 ) - this can be confirmed by looking into battery use by cell standby and seeing how much time ur cell has been without signal rest as you urself said wifi , least apps , least data transfer and stuff. and wiping the battery stats usually settles the calibration of the battery right, if you are rooted and are with CWM then just by charging 100% while on , then charging 100% while off and then again charging 100% when on > after that rebooting in recovery and deleting battery stats will set the calibration of any battery right, it is particularly beneficial if you are fond of flashing new ROMs and trying out new combinations every now and then. just my 2 cents in additions to ur findings As always Regards to you for being a very aware and helping member at this awesome forum ALSO a very very important thing , and this goes to all of you fascinate users Are you guyz also noticing that while in deep sleep ( i mean when the screen is in sleep mode and locked ) the phone doesn't receive calls as well as texts on a number of occasions , whosoever is calling you says the phone was ringing , but there is no9 display of ringing at ur end ??

1 pointONLy iPhone has the capability to be in news and create ripple in forum more than 2 years after it's launch, holding attention from really reputed gurus. Although not for it but still they compare it with latest launch of android device EPIC. Spare battery and SD are only attractions and a way to convince yourself, no one using ip4 or 3GS will miss them and battery life is almost same as any other device and no way comes in way of making it most desirable device. Are we any time talking about HTC Hero with same era - no one is interested but iPhone yes any time on news..... My friends burping are only missing it, and even they love it, it's like "I love you so much it HURTS"

1 pointAvishek, SGA is Samsung Galaxy Ace I guess. That method is common. The last link is from a Chinese website translated through Google. Might be that is why not opening. Let Kanaga Ji update if the first method works then no need for this.
