Review: No Nap.. Rs 350 Device Can Save Your Life From A Tragic Accident When You Dose Off.. Source Road accidents kill 13 lakh people every year, while Indians make up two lakh of these fatalities. To put this into perspective, India houses less than 1% of automobiles worldwide, but still accounts for a staggering 15% of total road traffic deaths. A vast majority of these casualties are attributed to driver errors, some of which are caused by fatigued motorists dozing off at the wheel. Fortunately, Chinese ingenuity has spawned a cheap and inexpensive solution dubbed No Nap, which promises to prevent drivers from nodding off. How It Works No Nap is a nifty anti-snooze alarm that sounds an audible tone when the driver falls asleep at the wheel. This potentially lifesaving device clips onto your ear and stays put as long as your head is upright. As soon as you tilt your head forwards, say when nodding off to sleep, a stell ball shifts position and shorts the circuit connected to the inbuilt speaker. This activates an alarm that blasts an effective 100 dB beep, jolting the driver into consciousness. Powered by three button cells, the mechanism is simple yet effective. A cheaper, but considerably more uncomfortable, all-plastic alternative can be purchased from DealExtreme.com for $1.7 (Rs 75 approx), shipping included. However, that will take well over a month to reach your doorstep. Unlike the previous all-plastic version, No Nap's revised design is relatively more ergonomic and secure, thanks to a soft rubber clip that hooks onto your ear. Moreover, the updated version is slim enough to be used in conjunction with spectacles. This cannot be said of the original. Its light weight ensures that wearing one isn't much of an annoyance. Bikers can use this device too, provided the helmet isn't too tight. A simple yet effective design. On The Road The No Nap sounds perfect in theory, but how does it measure up in the real world? I drove around wearing the device to check if it really works. The short answer is: yes, it does work as advertised. When worn correctly, the alarm would go off whenever my head tilted forward around 20 degrees from the normal position. It screamed into my ear during every single one of my simulated naps. While I found that the device can be triggered even if you peer down into the glove compartment, this isn't an issue due to an easily accessible push-button switch that disables the alarm at will. Since its steel ball triggered mechanism is susceptible to gravity and inertia, I expected false alarms due to braking and uneven surfaces. However, this isn't a problem because real world tests revealed that only the negative acceleration brought upon by severe braking may set off the alarm. Even then, it's only momentary. Neither speed breakers nor uneven roads managed to cause the No Nap to register a false alarm. Ditto for hard cornering. Only the largest potholes, when driven rashly into, will evoke a sharp squeak from the device. However, that's hardly an annoyance. Ideally, I should have deprived myself of sleep before evaluating the device. Unfortunately, TechTree employees don't get dental insurance. Conclusion At Rs 350 a pop, what we have here is a cheap solution to a very serious problem. More importantly, one that actually works, much unlike the usual Chinese duds. Most tourist and transport vehicles are driven by overworked, fatigued, and hence dangerously sleepy drivers. In such cases, the No Nap anti-snooze alarm proves indispensible to ensure the security of life and limb. If you regularly travel interstate, drive at late hours, or otherwise indulge in long drives, there is no reason why you shouldn't get one. Forget road safety, the Editor has ordered this for all employees to enforce "No Napping". If the alarm does go off while driving, please take it as a sign to pull over and drink some coffee. Better yet, listen to your body and take a nap before you move on. Like they say: better safe than sorry. Performance: 4/5 Design & Build Quality: 3.5/5 Features: 3.5/5 Value: 4.5/5 Mojo: 4/5

Unboxing - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/31537-review-sprint-htc-evo-3d-worlds-1st-proper-3d-phone/page__view__findpost__p__236203 Screenshots - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/31537-review-sprint-htc-evo-3d-worlds-1st-proper-3d-phone/page__view__findpost__p__236206 HTC Site Specifications - http://www.htc.com/u...rint#tech-specs Sprint Home Page - http://now.sprint.co...3d/#/techspecs/ HTC EVO3D Official Support Page (includes Post launch update instructions) - http://www.htc.com/u...rint/downloads/ Review by Engadget - http://www.engadget....-evo-3d-review/ This below photo is of Green Hornet in 3D (though the 3D effect is not visible here). It is just unbelievably awesome. 3D actually works without glasses and eye strain. Initial Observations- 1. Build quality is top notch; better than Epic 2. 4.3" screen is brilliant 3. 3D photos watching is a pain on the eyes but movies is another matter all together 4. Though it is half the depth of Epic, feels heavier and solid like steel (though fully plastic) 5. Sound Volume seems lower than Epic 6. Soft buttons 100 times better than Epic (my main grouse); same like Incredible 7. Plastic Battery cover is like pappad but after closing feels solid 8. OTA to 2.3.3 (ver 1.13.651.7) has started automatically on wifi 9. Gingerbread + Sense interface is just awesome and beats any Samsung/Moto interface hollow 10. Watching Green Hornet in 3D (free download via wifi on the phone) is just F AWESOME. No Eye Strain at all. This truly has to be the biggest selling point of the phone that 3D in movies and games "actually" works on this phone. Volume is a little low (as was in Epic for movies). Headphones needed. 11. Downloaded all settings, HDR, PPP, PRL etc. in 5 minutes through Hetal (a big Thank YOU). Just waiting for MEID registration to complete. 12. The Lockscreen can be modified to many in-built themes. Default is set to weather. 13. GPS locking is about 5 times faster than Epic (as with all HTC's) 14. Wifi strength is also better than the Samsung's 15. 8GB micro sd bundled in box 16. Build quality of dedicated Camera button and 2d/3d mode is great 17. Qik Video Conferencing works great (tested over wifi) 18. Google sync did not work after software settings through cdma workshop were loaded. Had to do a factory reset to get it to start working. Factory reset did not spoil the software re-settings. 19. The Sense weather has more melodrama added with sound effects. 20. Dedicated Notification light on top. Algorithm is better than Samsung 21. 3D Movie - The Green Hornet and 3D Game - Spiderman, loaded by default (needs wifi) 22. Battery Life seems much better than Epic. Results here - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237741 23. New Update to 2.3.4 is now out and I received it OTA over WiFi (unrooted phone). It upgraded my Android Version to 2.3.4 and The Software number to 2.08.651.2. Details here - 24. After the new update, now you can take screen shots on EVO 3D by long pressing the power key and then the home button. Image will be in the gallery under camera Shots. Works even on unrooted phones now. Details here - What I dont like - 1. Low volume compared to Samsung hardware. Same was in Incredible where we solved it by 3rd party app. Will research more. Edit: With use for some days the sound seems to have opened up and increased by itself. Sound Test Video posted here - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237822 Seems more than sufficient to me now. 2. Screen brightness of S-AMOLED of EPIC is brighter than this 3D though very slightly. Nothing much to crib about. 3. Its heavier (170gms) than I anticipated. Maybe because of the humongous 1730maH battery (the highest capacity I have encountered). Its almost 60gms heavier than its competition Samsung Galaxy S2. It is even heavier than Epic (155gms) though it is thinner and easily pocket-able. 4. The Galaxy S2 is much slicker and sexier than this curvy babe. S2=Kareena; EVO3D=Silk Smitha 5. No headset in box 6. Lacks Kickstand aka EVO4G 7. 8GB Card is LESS by today's standards. Though 1GB RAM is standard. 8. Locked Bootloader. HTC has promised to send a software update by 1st week of August to unlock it.Therefore NO CyanogenMod ROM for EVO3D till it is unlocked.Edit : S-Off achieved; Bootloader Unlocked - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__238042 Do the following immediately- 1. Change Proxy to 0.0.0.0 to enable YouTube Playback on EVDO by doing this - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237026 2. Change to EVRC-B for enhanced and clearer call quality by doing this - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237274

Summary of Telephone conversation i just had with Groupoffers.. Whether this is with India 1 Year Warranty.. Yes. That means it's not imported.. Yes. So the Vendor to whom you are sending the list must be having it in stock/get easily from market.. Ummm.. Silence.. Why should it take 21 days from payment for delivery.. It's maximum days Sir, You may get it earlier. You have an office in Mumbai.. Can i go there, pay the money, collect vendor information from there & collect my phone?.. No Sir. Do you realise that because of "21 Days" people may treat this deal as unreliable?.. Yes, what you are saying may be correct.. Can i have your number.. I will give input to seniors.. We will try to change 21 Days description.. Make your own interpretation but not very comforting to hand over the money in advance & wait for 21 days because there is no logical answer to the 21 day delivery period if the item is in India/not imported.

^ In a fresh phone you can easily swap cards; If needed you can format the 16gb card in the phone itself; it will make the new directory structure or you can make a blind copy if data exists on the old 8gb card; both should work. The speed is not dependent upon the capacity of the card but its Class. It is written in the form of numbers which signifies it's speed. The 8gb card in the Evo is Class4 whereas the 16gb card you might have is Class 2. Higher the number higher the speed, so from that definition your 8gb card will be faster than your 16gb one...

India & Android – Best Phones to buy this July Source Yet another edition of best Android devices in the Indian Market. We try to incorporate all the latest launches and compare them with the already available devices in the market – thus coming out with a list of devices that we think are best in their category right now. It is a subjective list.. We are choosing only a few devices per category, but that does not necessarily other devices are not good – it's just that that these devices stands out. Dual-core Android smartphones: [20K+] Samsung Galaxy S II: Without any doubt, if you have money this is the phone to go for. It has got its share of criticism due to heating issues, which will probably be sorted out by a future firmware update. Price: INR 29,999 | Android version: 2.3.3 | Other options in this category – HTC Sensation & LG Optimus 2X Single-core high end Android smartphones: [iNR 20K+] There is quite a competition in this category. It was hard to make a decision between them, yet we have decided on two phones with single core processors. HTC Incredible S: A very potent Android smartphone from HTC, a rather new smartphone although HTC has been releasing single core Android phone since HTC Desire. Clubbed with Android 2.3.3 and 4 inch display with an 8MP HD shooter, Incredible S makes a strong case. Price: INR 25,940 | Android version – 2.3.3 Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc: This awesome looking device from Sony Ericsson comes with a great display in the form of 4.1 inch screen with Bravia Engine. Processor is same as of Incredible S but lacks in the terms of RAM from the HTC device, but the great camera can make do for that. Price: INR 26,890 | Android version – 2.3.3 Other options in the category: HTC Desire S, Desire HD, Xperia Play [for gaming freaks], Dell Venue, Dell Streak [if you don't mind big screen], HTC Desire, HTC Desire Z and Acer Liquid E Mid-range Android smartphones: [below 20K and more than 12K] Recently a series of price drops and new devices launches have made mid-range a happening Android arena. Yet another category to make hard decisions, but choice is always good for consumers. Nexus S: We always like Google phones. You get the Android updates before anyone else and have the great hardware. If you are looking for pure Android – this is it. Price: INR 19.9K | Android version: 2.3.4 LG Optimus Black: Recently launched Optimus Black is the lightest Android smartphone in high-end as well as mid range categories. It comes with a great 4 inch NOVA display along with 1 GHz processor. Only problem is the Android version, which will get updated to Gingerbread soon. Price: INR 19,310 | Android version: 2.2 Other options in the category: Samsung Galaxy SL, Spice MI-410, Motorola Defy, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Acer Liquid Metal, HTC Wildfire S and Motorola Milestone You might be wondering that high-end and mid-range categories have ended and we have not mentioned Galaxy S anytime. We were not sure to put it in which category. That's why it is here on its own. Worth It: Samsung Galaxy S: A very popular and hit smartphone from Samsung, Galaxy S still have great hardware and almost latest Android version. We are not sure about the price, because you should be able get it around 21K. A great display and awesome developer love. Note: Available at 19.5K At Some Places. Entry-level Android smartphones [0 to INR 12K] With a series of Samsung love here, and lot of rebranded OEM devices have made entry level segment crowded. It is very hard to point out which is better than which in this segment, so we are not choosing one device here. We have made a lot of few devices that are worth their money in this segment. Dell XCD35 LG Optimus One Samsung Galaxy Fit HTC Wildfire Acer Liquid Mini Other options in this category: Seriously there are a lot of them – Samsung Galaxy Pop, Galaxy Pro, LG Optimus Me, Spice MI-310, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini, Mini Pro and SE W8

it's correct, That virgin is abosbed by tata few month ago. One of good strategy to keep virgin mobile in india is Rebrand all tata indicom CDMA customer to Virgin mobile benefit 1)As TTSl are agree to pay royalty after exiting venture 2) too many brand will make more confusion, 3) Virgin mobile brand for CDMA, will attract more youth youth, that way increase tata subsciber base. 4) no interested config between DOCOMO and VIGIN. both foreign partner will cater to different need 5) DATA yasge on mobile( currently branded as SPEEDLIVING) can be extented with vigin mobile brand as Vbyte(international brand) with EVDO backbone.
