1 pointPGP Portal-Telecom Related Complaints & Resolution It Worked, Share Your Successful Resolution in this Topic. There have been suggestions in many other topics to lodge your Telecom & Mobile Subscriber related complaints at Portal For Public Grievances against your Operators as a last resort if you have exhausted all aveneues and still did not find a resolution. Some have been very skeptical about effectiveness, Some actually have been successful using this medium and Some have been strongly urging everyone to use this medium. To be Honest, i belonged to the skeptical category. But still as a last resort wanted to give it a try for a long standing problem with Reliance Communications regarding Non De-Activation of Mobile TV subscription & Refund of about 7 months subscription. The Problem Story... -Activated Mobile TV All Rs 149 Per Month Pack in R-CDMA through RWorld in the Month of August-2010 when i had an OMH Handset. -In less than a month, got Palm Pixi which does not support RWorld directly. Before switching to Pixi, Tried De-Activating Mobile TV Subscription from Old OMH Handset. There was no De-Activation Option at all. -Called Customer Care requesting De-Activation. -10-12 Complaints, Every time complaints closed without De-Activation. 30-35 Calls. No Result. Finally was asked to Visit Web World for Resolution. -Did so. At First visit WebWorld told that De-activation will be done and refund will be considered. -Was Disgusted and thinking of living R-CDMA for good & then got Fascinate with EVDO. Still decided on porting out. Generated port code & then again visited Webworld. -3 Such visit to Webworld. Problem not solved. Webworld said Backend responded saying it can not be De-Activated by them... Can be done only from the handset through RWorld. -Paid MobiTV subcription every month from September 2010 till March 2011 without actually using it. Finally on 13th March 2011, lodged the complaint on http://pgportal.gov.in It is a common portal for many ministries & you have to select Telecom Ministry. There is a registration process. Your registered complaint becomes User ID & Password you can select. You can then track the status of the complaint, give reminder or additional info after logging in. After about 3 days, complaint showed the status of forwarded to Reliance Communications. Name of some Reliance Official was appearing. I thought OK... The Postman doing his job of just forwarding. Nothing happened for a month. On 12th April again checked the complaint status & it was now showing UNDER PROCESS instead of Forwarded. On 15th April received a call from some senior sounding official from Reliance Corporate Center. He politely asked me whether i complained to Govt. of India? Yes. He then inquired which Webworld i visited for resolution? Thereafter he said since Saturday, Sunday is a holiday, i can expect to receive a feedback on Monday. Also said that he will ensure that i will be updated properly and don't need to call them again. After a formal sounding sorry, conversation was over. 18th April Received a Call from a lady at Reliance Corporate Center. Told me she has been assigned to monitor resolution of this complaint & will update me with the results. 19th April Same lady called up to say that MobileTV subscription is now de-activated and Refund for 7 months is being processed. 20th April Lady again called up to say, Refund has been processed & credited to my account & will appear in Next Bill. After some time, a formail mail from Reliance Corporate Center confirmed the same. Still not convinced, checked my online account with RComm.... Voilla... Credit Balance For The First Time in 7 Years... Status of MobiTV De-activation will be confirmed only when the bill comes. The whole purpose of writing this lengthy post is to make everyone aware that PGP Portal may not just be a Postman & we can take benefit of it for Redressal of Telecom Grievances after exhausting all avenues with our operator. If it was just a Postman, why would Reliance Communications have bothered at all particularly when it did nothing for over 7 months despite so much follow up and even a port out request from an old customer. We all know that legally PGP Portal may not have legislative power to act again Telcos, but there must be that SOMETHING ELSE which might be forcing Telcos to consider & resolve complaints lodged through it. I have no idea what that Something Else is and don't bother at all. The problem got resolved and that's what matters. So Please take benefit of this recourse and try it. Also request all who have been Successful through this medium for different problems to post here... So More Members Can Be Aware...

1 pointData Plan Related Unified Data Plans Use it any where On Phone or Tethering Mode (Use on RWorld Password or NetConnect ) (RWorld + NetConnect = SimpleNet) = DONE = Achived as MobileNet All SimpleNet plan must be Activated by SMS short code reducing burden on Web World or Customer Care People = DONE Default SimpleNet plan is Rs 0.50 / Minute / IT MUST BE Volume based like Rs 2 / MB = DONE More Dynamic Combo Plans for Voice + Data Usage = Can be done but not need now EVDO Related Automatic EVDO Activation for Fresh OMH or EVDO Based Devices = Comming Soon Unprovisioned / Old Deactivated OMH / Devidce must have EVDO Deactivated Automatically = Comming Soon Provisioned / Newly Activated OMH / Device must have EVDO Activated automatically = Comming Soon Activation / Reactivation / Deactivation of EVDO must be SMS Based = Will be only via Web World Additional MEID Based PPP Login ID ( A0000012345678@ppp.rcom.co.in) and Password sud be password / So all New Device like Samsung Atlas I500 should not require OS Modification to accomodate MDN / MDN based UID Provisioning = Comming Soon Device Related (Handset Change - Non RUIM) As per the old Methos HCC or Retain MDN both method is confusin HCC is either not available or not working on many devices, Retain MDN is too much time consuming and Device goes in Lost state, I appeal RCDMA to come with Voice Portal for Device Swap so no Funny HCC or Retain MDN is Involved

1 pointi finally got TS+ and despite the installer insisting that we had to stop our regular cable so he could swap the old wire for the TS wire, we finally got both by paying rs. 1 k extra without any bill of course so they could 'pull' the new wire through the walls. though it felt like an illegal payment, due to some absurd reasoning that TS does not permit such wiring work it was worth it not to have any visible wires coming in from any windows which was the only other option. since we stay in a 18 floor building, they did not even need access to the roof to install the dish [my wife refuses to have any ugly contraption visible from our flat / balconies]. they were able to plug into existing dish infrastructure which was super nice. it was all over in about 1-2 hours from the doorbell ringing to the workers leaving which was better than expected. my irritation was with the buying process - there should be an option to simply add on the rs. 1.5 k in additional fixed charges [rs 500 for some box like white device with a bunch of plugs approx 1-2" wide and 3-4" long] and rs. 1 k for the initial recharge / top up for activation and subscription. we went for the ala carte pricing and got about half a dozen english channels: star world hd star movies hd fox crime espn star sports ananda [bengali for the wife] we plan on adding: fx axn zcafe bbc entertainment but the sms ADD feature is not working for our primary mobile # we also tried to download the supposedly free iphone app but were asked for payment authorisation so we cancelled it there seems to be a limit on the number of series you can setup for recording and we reached that on the 1st day of use! but it seems kind of absurd when we have 97% free space - why should there be ANY limit? just keep recording till the space runs out. i think we had about half a dozen series recording set up after which we could only record individual episodes the timings were also off: simpsons started almost a min before the recording and law & order started over 5-6 min later which was annoying and might be a channel issue rather than TS+ how do you save 'bookmarks' or chapters so that you can resume watching a recording a few days later? we can do that on our older DVR [lg and panasonic] so it should not be a big deal is it hard to make DTH interactive? we should be able to add or delete channels from the STB alone instead of using our mobiles i loved the fact that 2 simultaneous channels could be recorded like TiVo and oldest watched episodes would be automatically deleted if we ran out of space while the unwatched ones would be kept - i wish our older DVR had those options too i would also like the following channels in HD: star sports zee cafe all movie channels surprisingly i can't make out much difference on my LG plasma between SD STB [digital] and HD [DTH] other than the aspect ratio [no more stretching] of course there is a huge difference between analog and digital cable best value for money so far in PVR: lg was 160 gb for rs. 15 k [singapore] = rs. 94 / gb in 2009 panasonic was 250 gb for rs. 16 k [hong kong] = rs 64 / gb in 2010 TS+ was 380 gb for rs. 6.5 k = rs 18 / gb in 2011 the PPV / pay per 'event' option is fibe for regular DTH but obsolete for recorders since VOD would always be better for the same content - why would you watch anything live when you can watch the recording as you please [excluding live / breaking news of course] now we can finally not renew our subscription to 70mm for dvd rentals since their service & selection is quite bad - just record from the movie channels! i'll still rent from big flix since i like watching the bonus features and commentary on dvds but probably half as many discs. the dvd rental stores don't realise DVR will make them obsolete and reduce piracy over the next few years.
