Just to keep the records straight - Fragmentation is becoming less of a issue with android. Now 38.7 % of the devices runs on 2.3.x Gingerbread and 2.2 Froyo on 45.3%. And fragmentation exists in iOS too.

Ice Cream Sandwich Features That Google Missed To Mention At Launch Event Source When Google announced Ice Cream Sandwich, it failed to mention several features of this Android release that many of you will surely like a lot. Android Engineer Dan Morill highlighted some of these features on Google+, other were identified from the SDK. Updated Settings: Settings menu has been revamped and it is now easier than ever to find the setting that you are looking for. Disabling Apps: If you can’t uninstall an app, you can always disable it in ICS. Android 4.0 adds the ability to disable an app and it will never run and its launcher icon is gone until you re-enable it. Improved Download Manager Support for Encryption in Phones: Full device encryption that was a part of Honeycomb is now available in phones. Audio Effects: New effects API. Support for WebM streaming, MKVs: Android 4.0 natively supports the playback of MKV files as well as streaming of Googe’s WebM video format. Hardware Acceleration: Android will finally have Hardware acceleration in ICS. It will allow for a super smooth user experience, better graphic performance, and better responsiveness within apps. Indic fonts (Devanagari, Bengali and Tamil) support in WebView and stock browser. No need to download other browsers just to view Hindi webpages.

I don't understand what's the big deal with siri? its not a new concept, not even revolutionary. Speech to text is like there from years, all siri is doing is finding the key words, make sense of it by using markers (I guess) and all you can do is set some reminders get weather and nearby restaurants, or just search. Its like cutting a step between translating speech to text and hitting search, siri will hit the search button for you, with a voice over of course engadget and others projecting it as "game changer" well I fail to find it as one

Price difference between GSM EVO 3D & CDMA version is even more than that now. Brand New EVO 3D CDMA selling for US $ 300 to $ 350 now a days in US. For example, consider this one for US $ 320 >> http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_6463wt_1322 As the custom duty in India on mobiles is around 1%, and SNS charges US $ 10 shipping for first 500 grams, this one can be in your hand in India for approx Rs 16,220. ($320 = Rs 14,720 + Rs 1,500 (Max for Shipping+Customs). That's a gap of approx Rs 16,000 compared to prevailing GSM EVO 3D price in India.

@PKC19 1. Do not import as then you will end up searching people to register meid and starting 3G/EVDO. Buy from reputed sellers like Hetal/Amit Jain/Sadikk etc. 2. All the complexities will be taken care by the seller 3. India 4. Sealed pack handsets even in the US are about 17-18K, then add import costs and customs worries. Better pay 2-3K extra (around 22-23K) and buy from reputed seller here without any tensions and hassles. Also resale would be easier of meid registered handsets with evdo and you can easily upgrade after sometime.
