2 pointsSwiftKey 3 beta starts to make the spacebar obsolete SwiftKey -- the Android Central 2011 keyboard of the year -- has declared war on the spacebar. Never mind that its April Fool's joke actually was to introduce the world's longest spacebar. The latest update to SwiftKey -- dubbed SwiftKey 3 -- introduces, among other features, Smart Space. Traditionally, Android keyboards use the spacebar as a means to select a suggested word. Or, perhaps, to put a space in a sentence. Or to insert a period at the end of a sentence. Smart Space takes advantage of SwiftKey's Fluency prediction engine and goes a step further than any other keyboard we've used. You no longer have to put spaces between words when typing. (It does still do the traditional space and punctuation thing, though.) OK, so that's nottosayyouwantotypelikethisforanextendedperiodoftime. But for small groups of words, SwiftKey 3 can take something like "jerryistheneckbeardking" and turn it into "Jerry is the neckbeard king," all without you having to do anything but type the letters. We've been using SwiftKey 3 for several weeks now, and the results really are remarkable. Other additions in SwiftKey 3 are two new themes. There's "Cobalt," which matches SwiftKey's redesign, and "Holo," which was voted on by its VIP community. And we're only half-joking about getting rid of the spacebar. It's actually been made a little bigger in this release. Punctuation has been moved around, too, with the comma, period, question mark and exclamation point all sharing a key. (Some of us aren't too thrilled with that move.) Seven more languages have been added -- Korean, Estonia, Farsi, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian and Serbian -- for a total of 42. You've really got to try this one out to believe it. One slight catch here -- SwiftKey 3's still in beta, and you can only get it through their VIP community. So hit the link below and give it a shot. It's available for tablets and smartphones. Demo video's after the break. 2 pointsInstagram is an app for taking pictures, adding filters to make them look cool (see the pic Hetal ji posted), and then for sharing them with sites like Twitter and Facebook. And second, it's a simple social network of other people's photos. You can "like" or comment on the photos, and see what's new. It's easy and doesn't take much time or effort to master. This is one of the reasons it has become so popular so quickly

1 pointSIM cards bought with duplicate IDs, sold without papers Hindustan Times l Mumbai l 31 March 2012 After a month-long investigation, the police on Friday cracked down on a large-scale racket wherein prepaid SIM cards were being provided to customers without identity proofs or related documents. Hundreds of activated SIM cards have been recovered from the accused. The crime branch arrested nine people, including a senior official of a prominent telecom company, who would allegedly obtain the SIM cards using photocopies of documents provided to them by genuine applicants, and then sell them at exorbitant rates. Joint commissioner of police, crime, Himanshu Roy on Friday said that eight of the accused – Ravindra Gajanan Patil, 24, Sunil Batawala, 21, Ravindra Wagmode, 20, Digambar Kole, 34, Ravi Bhuje, 23, Sunny Barati, 27, Ganesh Shinde, 22, Azad Chote Singh, 22 – worked as salesmen for different service providers, while Aslam Islam Sheikh, 33, is the assistant territory manager for the company office at Kurla. The Unit 7 of the crime branch also recovered 379 activated SIM cards, from different network providers, along with more than 550 forged documents. The arrested accused have been charged with cheating and forgery. Such SIM cards might be used by anti-social elements for criminal activities and may harm the national security, police said. The group would take multiple photocopies of genuine customers’ application forms (with valid ID proofs such as address proof, photographs, passport or PAN card copies), who they had issued SIM cards. They would also scan their photographs. Using these photocopies, they would get multiple SIM cards issued from the companies they worked for. “With duplicated documents, hundreds of SIM cards were obtained in one genuine customers’ name,” Roy said. They would sell these SIM cards to customers. “The group sold these at prices ranging between Rs 400 and Rs 1,000 – as against the market price of Rs25-Rs40,” said Roy. Police are worried about the security implications of the racket, which shows the ease with which SIM cards can be obtained using fake identities. If police track any activity on these numbers, it would be traced to the customer who’s duplicate documents were used. “That person would have little clue that hundreds of cards were being issued in his name,” said Roy. The Telephone Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has been informed, so it can begin an inquiry. “It’s a national security concern,” said Roy.

1 pointThe solution is not to have more and more rules but to stop having such stupid rules in the first place. Otherwise we'll end up in a scenario where you need to submit documents to drink water ! Because, bad guys drink water so it'll help catch them if records were available of everyone who is drinking water. The logic is the same.

1 pointThis one is for TEA Lovers! Get a sample of Golden Tea for FREE. Tea & Health The health benefits of Green Tea Green tea specifically has been associated with protection against certain types of cancer including lung, stomach cancer and its precancerous condition, gastritis. Moreover, an observational study in Japan found that the regular consumption of green tea (more than 3 cups a day) might be protective against recurrence of breast cancer in the early stages In addition to its potential anti carcinogenic and antioxidant effects, other studies have shown green tea to have anti-inflammatory, anti thrombosis, cholesterol lowering, antiviral and antibacterial properties. Green tea and skin protection A number of animal studies have shown that topical treatment or oral consumption of green tea polyphones, inhibit chemical carcinogen or ultraviolet radiation-induced skin tumors in different animal models. Treatment of green tea polyphenols to skin has been shown to have a beneficial effect on the biochemical pathways involved in skin inflammation, cell proliferation and chemical tumor promoters. These results have been confirmed in a human model, where topical application of green tea polyphenols protected against UV light induced DNA damage. Based on results mainly from animal studies, many companies are now supplementing their skin care products with green tea extracts. Green tea extract and weight loss Preliminary research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that an extract from green tea may help with weight loss by speeding up fat oxidation. In this study, researchers conducted a 6 week study of 10 healthy men in their 20's and found that those men who were given a green tea extract used more calories in a day than those who did not. Possible Link between Green Tea and Arthritis Prevention Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic disease and is one of the most common forms of arthritis. According to an April 13, 1999 news release from the Arthritis Foundation, the disease affects 2.1 million Americans (i.e., 1.5; million women, 600,000 men), and usually strikes in middle age. Researchers conducting a study funded by the Arthritis Foundation report that green tea may be useful in treating or preventing rheumatoid arthritis; however, more research is needed to determine its exact role. According to the release, the polyphenolic compounds present in green tea may limit the onset and subsequent progression of rheumatoid arthritis. Polyphenols are a class of compounds that have strong antioxidant properties (i.e., the ability to halt enzymes that produce carcinogens). In three independent experiments, the mice that researchers gave green tea polyphenols (GTP) in water exhibited significantly reduced incidence of arthritis (i.e., 33% to 50% developed arthritis as compared to 84% to 100% of mice not given GTP in water). According to the release, mice given GTP in water were protected significantly from developing arthritis, and if they did develop the disease, its severity was mild. More testing is needed with humans to determine the role of green tea in the treatment and prevention of rheumatoid arthritis. Grab your FREE Sample here : http://www.goldenteacompany.com/form1.html
