6 pointsShoutcast Radio app: Viera Connect Market has many apps that you can install and the icon will appear in the home screen. There are dedicated Facebook and Twitter apps as well: The browser app even plays flash videos: The Media Player can play images, videos and music from USB drive. Many formats are supported too. I have also installed the Viera Remote app on my iPad (get it from the Apple App Store) and it even automatically detected the TV as both are connected to the same wireless network: Controlling the TV including typing through the iPad is fun! So that's it for now. I have to check out the Media Server and Viera Link features tomorrow and will try to update this post about it as well

5 pointsGot the Panasonic TH-P50GT50D (50 inch) Plasma TV yesterday. It is the 2012 edition under the "Smart Viera" branding. I am upgrading from a Samsung 32" LCD TV which is over a couple of years old. I opted for Plasma since it has better color saturation when I compared different TVs in showrooms. GT30 was a great buy for 2011 as per many reviews, so I went for the GT50 as soon as it was launched in India as the reviews in other countries like US had only good things to say about it. Panasonic launched the 2012 models this month (14th) and stock is now available with dealers. The MRP mentioned in the sticker is Rs.1,38,900 and I got it for Rs.1,15,000 with 1 extra free 3D glass (2 * 3D glasses are included - so total 3). The dealer also gave me a Casio keyboard as a free gift. Model number for the included free glass is TY-EW3D4MA and the additional free glass is model number is TY-EW3D2MA. TY-EW3D4MA is cell battery operated while the TY-EW3D2MA is rechargeable using the USB cable. The remote control looks nice and feels good: The base stand was easy to setup with instructions clearly mentioned in the manual HDMI and USB ports are on the side: VGA port and Composite Video ports are a bit awkwardly placed: Composite cable has to be connected using a connector cable which is included: Overall the design looks good The picture quality for high definition content was excellent and I have checked using AirTel Digital TV HD STB, PS3, Xbox and PC. Standard Definition channels were (obviously) not-so-good, just what you would expect anyway 3D was great and I have tried a couple of stereoscopic 3D games (Uncharted 3 on PS3 & Batman Arkham City on Xbox) which looked very good. I also tried a Blu-ray 3D movie (Transformers: Dark of the moon) which was fantastic to see on 3D. Unfortunately there is no way to take any pics of the 3D in action to post here. I haven't noticed any burn-in yet though I will be doing the initial break-in procedure for about 100 hours. Dealers may say that new Plasma TVs don't require it but to be safe it is better to do it. The out-of-the-box settings were fine though it needs to be tweaked according to the content you are watching. The THX Cinema mode is excellent for watching movies. I have to do further picture setting tweaks after the break-in period. "Viera Connect" (internet based feature) is amazing and I spent more time checking them out than tweaking the picture quality settings. When you start the internet mode (I had also selected WiFi network during the initial setup) it would check for the latest firmware version (for Viera Connect) and there is a new version already: It took about 20 minutes on my 4 mbps connection: That would take you to the Internet menu with apps: Few apps are installed by default including the Panasonic Viera social networking app where you can add Twitter and Facebook accounts. This app allows you to watch the TV program alongside the Twitter/Facebook content: YouTube works well and you can login to your YouTube account as well: YouTube video being played that I had uploaded earlier: continued in next post...

1 pointThe "1080p Pure Direct" setting disappears when you are connected to a non 1080p source; so I don't think it would be possible to use it for sources other than 1080p Here is the Advanced Settings menu on a 1080p source (PC): Same menu when a 1080i source (AirTel HD DVR in this case) is connected: Other than the option to add a name to the AV input sources, I could find any option to name it differently like you did in Samsung. I will try the rest of your queries tomorrow! BTW are you prankey from SoD?

1 pointMy backup root is a stand alone app from market thru which u can backup just apps their data and the other data of phone like SMS contacts call logs settings as per ur discretion. It had its limitations. Nandroid backup is a feature of ur cwm recovery this backs up every single thing of ur current from. Its like a mirror image of ur rom from every setting to every app, every single thing in it. Only thing that it won't backup ur kernel and radio but then they can't be backed up thru any procedure. 1 pointUmmm.. That's not what i wanted to convey... Nothing related to courts interference in policy making as such... What i wanted to say was that when lawyers in the union cabinet who have little political base / wisdom are guiding / making policy decisions which are then automatically accepted as gospel truth by a supposedly brilliant economist prime minister who is no LEADER in any sense of the word OR is having any real authority as such and without a second thought.... That's the only end result one can expect. We have all pygmies disguised as titans!

1 point@ gurugopal Absolutely, court are helpless and may be corrupt. But fact is they are absolutely dependant on facts presented to them, they can not make any decisions on known reality - if not presented legally to them. I have been facing legal system since last about 3 years due to our stupid and biased laws - which are pro women but anti solutions. Hence i know this very well. @ni0987 These are from school time stories, pata nahin Kahan milenge. :-(

1 pointThis is wholly unscientific but worked with fascinate when it suddenly went into airplane mode and will not come out of it no matter what... Pull the battery out, then micro SD Card, wait for 2-3 minutes, put micro SD, then battery and power on. If that does not work, then stock ROM can be ODINed.

1 pointI did use android on all formats.started with original galaxy s then felt it sluggish and bought photon as it promised speed and all with its dual core. ended up with touchpadd as well ,went through all kinds of ROMS available and figured out android is lot of pain in wrong place. its more pain than utility with manufacturer's witholding drivers for WIFI and android updates being slow and on mood of carriers; how we can beat that? android updates are major pain and daily flashing the nightlies and hunting for stable version is most problematic. that coupled with lots of major app which are still not on android. and analogy with windows is due to fact that hardware requirements are getting crazier by the day. how many of us have laptop with quad core processors? lets talk about android updates, how many of routine android users know about clockwork mod recovery and how many of day to day users name what the hell is dalvik cache wipe? how often you ended up flashing community modded rom than getting official rom update? how often you got gingerbread update withing month of its release by google? I will tell you story in my own family. My buaji wanted smart phone . I gave her iPhone,I just had to show her basic functionality of iOS.home button and where all is contacts and how to call.that one hr or so I spent thats it. I had synced the iphone and loaded my apps on it.and told her explore it as you feel like. the lady who was not using internet, has asked me to get her net connection. she is retired teacher and she got used to iOS so easily that i hardly had to teach her anything specific about it.she is so happy about its overall utility and she has figured out majority of things and she is coming from nokia phone. and on another hand is my sister.technophil and geeky type of girl. she has t mobile and galaxy s 4g and I hear complaints only about it and she has to wipe dalvik like every 10-15 days. She is on stock gingerbread rom and no modded rom's now who will teach elder lady how to wipe dalvik and what impression she will have?

1 pointWell I am happy that I was of some use to someone after all. M5 is great. Although I am on an even higher build but would suggest you to use M5 and set it up. Add all contacts and settings apps and all. After that using my backup root backup everything. And even make a nandroid. After about a week or may be 15 days based on my experience with my latest build I will tell you all about updating it. Have fun Sent from my fascinating SCH-I500 FASCINATE using Tapatalk 2

1 pointa majority of the companies whose licenses were cancelled did nothing wrong except follow the govt process at the time. the SC made bad case law by cancelling without refund of fees and interest lost. the govt did not suffer at all due to its bad policies [jailing of some politicians is not the same as reimbursing financial losses] only companies and customers get shafted as usual principles of natural justice violated we are like this only 3rd world = 3rd class mindset too india is becoming a joke abroad and we still dream of a permanent seat on the UN SC [not in this century at this rate] china is more foreign investor friendly and double the market size of us no one will need to invest here anymore after the vodafone tax dispute can anyone hear the sound of us become irrelevant internationally?

The Rom I am gonna present here is actually been developed from the android ICS source directly by the TEAM KANG. There have been many updates of this Rom , as many is more than 30 , The Version I have tried and tested is the LATEST version called Android Open Kang Project Fascinate Milestone-5 (4.0.4) released on 29-4-12. Please note that after M5 , there have been two more updates to AOKP , build 35 and build 35.1 , but M5 is utterly stable thats why this guide refers to M5 only , the later builds have different updates which are not very significant. I urge all to use only this version as i have extensively tested it and it performs way way better than the STOCK AOKP. http://nightly.exynos.co/aokp/fascinate/ download the latest build ( mostly mentioned at the top ) among all. or download from this link http://www.mediafire.com/?wzax5fcpd6kgm1t =============================== Stock AOKP build ( not recommended - mentioning just out of respect for the STCK work of the TEAM KANG tbh The Official Stock builds can be downloaded from here http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases/_/milestone-5-r20 just scroll down and choose any of the three mirrors mentioned in FASCINATEMTD or download from this link http://www.mediafire.com/?c6xapte5d9q5kb7 =================================== Team Hacksungs Build 1 This Rom is needed to make proper partitions and file structures in your phone so that we can flash the ICS build. This is a must : without first flashing this you cant use ICS. http://www.mediafire.com/?67782p054lp6o22 =================================== ClockworkMod Recovery fixed for CM9 : http://www.mediafire.com/?fl733m5cys3f6ea =================================== Google apps : At the end of the download list there is a link to the google apps as well called GAPPS download that as well. http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases/_/milestone-5-r20 or download from this link http://www.mediafire.com/?3tv6px3g7zm4mi1 =================================== Data Fix : More often than not , the data breaks after flashing the ICS builds, this file will be needed to restore data connectivity. http://www.mediafire.com/?srqv32venglftmq ==================================== Other Things which you might require if you dont have em already ODIN : http://www.mediafire.com/?6ipsaf418ah8gr5 Atlas Pit 2.2 : http://www.mediafire.com/?19fo7ftwgz8tgr8 EH03 STOCK official verizon GB : http://www.imnuts.org/downloads/fascinate/odin/CI500_VZW_EH03_GB_CM.tar.md5 OR http://www.mediafire.com/?g4afpb8u522oj2y http://www.mediafire.com/?r4fi9gl59j832yl ======================================================================== INSTALLATION : The Pre requisite to flash the ICS AOKP build is that you should be on STOCK EH03 ( or any other EH03 TOUCHwiz based ROM like GEEWIZ ( tested over it and works great ) comm rom resurrection - if the flash over the EH03 custom ROMs fails then you ll have to flash the stock EH03 and start again from there. To know how to flash the stock EH03 please refer page 1 and also use the atlas pit file while moving to eh03 stock with the repartition option clicked in ODIN) If you are ready then here are the steps : 1 .. Make a nandroid backup of your current ROM ( better safe than sorry - just in case you messup anything ) If you dont know how to make a nandroid backup then ask around , may be in a couple of days i ll write a smallish tutorial for that too. 2 .. Transfer the following to ur SD card THS build 1 ( team hacksung build 1 ) ICS GLITCHED UP milestone 5 ROM ICS_datafix zip file GAPPS zip file 3.. turn off your phone > remove battery > attach the usb cable and put it in download mode ( press vol down and insert the usb cable which is already connected to your PC ) 4.. Open ODIN > click PDA > select the file ClockworkMod Recovery fixed for CM9 > and flash it this will flash a CM9 specific , fixed CWM recovery which is needed to proceed from here on. 5.. put battery in > reboot into your new BLUE CM9 fixed recovery by pressing together VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER BUTTON 6.. wipe data > wipe cache > wipe dalvik after that using the flash zip file option in CWM > flash the THS build 1 once completed reboot phone - ( its is very very important that the ROM is fully booted after flashing the THS coz this changes the file structure according to the MTD. 7.. press the power button > in the shutdown menu options > select reboot > select recovery . the phone will booted in your blue recovery now ( PLEASE NOTE ONCE YOU HAVE FLASHED THS OR AOKP BUILDS YOU SHOULD NEVER TRY AND REBOOT INTO RECOVERY WITH THE 3 FINGERS - NEVER , ALWAYS USE THE POWER MENU OPTION) 8.. Once in blue recovery > wipe data > flash the aokp GLITCHED milestone 5 build ( mentioned at number 1 ) > then flash the GAPPS > in the end flash the ICS_datafix files 9.. once completed reboot the phone - and you are on AOKP ICS - it ll take more than 5 minutes for it to properly boot. setup ur google account > download the necessary apps from the market like gmail and maps and all and enjoy ur build it takes a bit to get used to ICS but the AOKP has a great ROM - there are plenty of options available , to which i cant write a guide you should look into ROM feature on the developers site.

1 point^^^^^^ No, we can't compare Sprint's 4G network to Voda's 3G here... Sprint's 4G is TRULY UNLIMITED without any FUP and it has sooo many users comparing Voda 3G and still giving good speeds...
