6 pointsAlthough, when initially manufactured, smartphones are designed to work with a particular type of SIM, the narrow things down by locking devices down to their particular network. The process of trying to unlock can be difficult indeed, and as such, consumers look to the expert developers and modders to offer a solution. Picture the scene. You upgrade your device on one carrier, let’s call them, for argument’s sake, AB&B, but your daughter – who is far more technologically-orientated than yourself, wants your shiny new device, to which you begrudgingly oblige. Unfortunately, your daughter is contracted with another carrier – Dash – and of course, you both want the to work with her carrier. Herein lies the problem. You call up AB&B, requesting they unlock your device. You’re contracted to make the payments anyhow, so you would think, perhaps, AB&B would happily unlock your device – even if a small fee is incurred. Unfortunately, that’s not how things play out, and although some carriers and circumstances allow a carrier unlock to be achieved, chances are, you’re going to be stuck with a locked device, which then becomes the clichéd expensive doorstop. The developers, without whom, I don’t know how we’d cope, come up with varied unlock solutions, and although a wait is often involved, there’s invariably light at the end of the tunnel. For those rocking an i9300 strain of the Samsung you’re among the luckier folk who can now unlock their device, and the clincher is, it gets as complicated as installing an .apk file from the Google Play Store. As you may expect, you will need to have a rooted device, and although precious date is backed up prior to the unlocking procedure, the auto-restore feature is not yet fully operational, thus the unlock solution is labeled as a beta at present. Still, it works just nicely, and if you’re rooted and raring to go, hit up the link below and you’ll have your i9300 Galaxy S III unlocked in a matter of moments. Note: Do not install on variations of the S III other than the I9300 model. It will not work. Download Voodoo Galaxy S III SIM Unlock [Google Play link]

4 pointsTanveer ji, I agree that RazrMAXX is inferior wrt specs and Benchmarks comparing to even S-II (S-II cheaper than Razr_OG last week), let alone QuadCore phones... But RazrMAXX is better than S-II and even S-III in 1, Design/Looks:- Though looks differs between eyes, even a die-hard Sammy fan will agree Razr is much beautiful 2, Premium Materials:- Kevlar is used in Bullet-proof jacket as Rajan ji told (But Moto warned earlier Razr is NOT bullet-proof), used in radial tyres instead of metal in old tyres(thanks Wiki) REASON strength as good as metal + weight as low as glass... It is very difficult to craft in sophisticated tiny device like mobile-phone, since it is very hard to cut to shape... The cost difference between S2 and Razr is 2k and I guess just kevlar is enough to justify it (even considering just the manufacturing cost), imho.... 3, Last, BUT NOT LEAST:- EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE With QuadCore CPUs in phone comparing 1.2GHz Dual of MAXX, we can save say 30 to 45 seconds a day (time difference in opening the apps or games in a day)... But with MAXX, we can live without worry of phone dying out of juice for minimum TWO days (we don't have 4G here so) ---- MENTAL PEACE ---- More COSTLIER than ANY GADGETS, imho... Being a business man, who travels a lot, I know how much important is a phone call and so the battery life + connectivity... But I too agree the people who doesn't travel a lot and are near chargers always, may NOT find 100% merits of MAXX... But I AM 100% sure owning MAXX's battery life is better than quad or a dozen-core in a phone... My friend, Google is Boss of Moto for LESS THAN A MONTH, incl today.. Let us give them some time... Yes, I am also way toooooo pissed off by their locked bootloader policy... I have even spammed their G+ accounts (MotorolaMobility, AndyRubin, LarryPage, DennisWoodside, Google, EricSchmidt) with requests to atleast give a solution to unlock bootloaders after voiding warranty like HTC, sooo much that they may beat me , if I ever met them in my life... Today I am going to threaten them that, if they still lock bootloaders, most Moto die hard fans will move to WP8 ..... Another rant today is This is the exact tweet I sent after Motorola replied to my Status (also available in Rimweb), now flooding their twitter/facebook/G+... I don't care, even if they come to my home and beat me to death...But I have some hope as Google, first removed the UNNECESSARY BLUR in Moto's UI in latest ICS skin... Simply Moto's ICS skin is near stock and beautiful, imho comparing sense and TouchWiz Even now I am dreaming that the delay in ICS for Razr is due to removal of bootloader lock in next update.. But it has very very very mild (almost NIL) chance of becoming reality... I love the vast development happening around Sammy phones... I love the design, build and battery life of Moto phones... To get both, lets hope Google unlocks its bootloader.... ......PEACE....

1 pointAlthough Samsung’s III smartphone set new benchmarks in terms of hardware and sheer power, the software features packed into the device also caught the attention of ] far and wide. Yes, there was S – the Korean company’s answer to iOS’s – but some of the most significant usability enhancements were a little more subtle. For example, a long-standing peeve of is how the backlight of the screen can often timeout when you’re in the middle of reading a web page. Since devices set their timers exclusively on lack of touch-based interaction, you often have to repeatedly tap the screen in order to keep the light shining on your screen, enabling you to view your content without squinting. Of course, the solution has always been to keep the backlight on for longer amounts of time, or perhaps indefinitely, but most of the time, this means one accidental touch of a button while the device isn’t in use can result in swift draining of that oh-so precious battery juice. Samsung amended that issue with Smart Stay the Galaxy S III, and now, if you’re holding the device, the smartphone earns its moniker by staying awake for the duration. That’s all well and good for the early adopters of the quad-core offering, but it doesn’t quite help the hundreds of millions of Android users rocking an older device. Say no more. ISeeYou, an app developed by Marco Roccagli, brings the Smart Stay idea to those running Android 2.3 or higher. There is a paid, , which allows the interval in which the front camera searches for you to be altered, while the free version doesn’t offer any customization abilities. That said, the latter iteration will probably do the trick for most, and providing your device has a front-facing camera, it will detect your face and keep the lights on when somebody’s home. The PRO version is 99 cents, and is certainly worth the investment if you’ve had enough of your device’s display letting you down. It may take a little bit of extra juice, depending on which device you’re rocking, so my advice is to try out the free version – linked to below – for a couple of days first before parting with your cash and going PRO.
