2 pointsFacebook Android app drops HTML5 and rolls out rebuilt native app\Facebook's Android app has followed in the footsteps of its iOS app by launching Android 2.0, which dropped HTML5 in favor of a speedier native build. If you were annoyed by the lag, delays, and buffering on your Facebook Android app, blame HTML5 – just like iPhone users did. Facebook listened and scrapped its HTML5 iOS app for version 5.0, rebuilt from scratch in Objective-C. Android owners are finally getting the same treatment. Facebook today announced Android 2.0. Back in August, it was reported that Facebook employees would be using Android phones, with the assumed goal being the team would be improving it – and it looks like that was the case. The latest update to Facebook’s Android app focuses on just speed, so there are no new bonus features added to the app if that’s what you were expecting. Instead you’ll find updates that are borrowed from the iOS app. For instance, like on Facebook’s iOS app, viewing photos on the Android app will be a completely new experience. If you tap on a photo it opens up instantly and you never leave the News Feed to view it. To close the photo, you just need to slide your finger in an upward motion. The second newsworthy addition is a “story banner” that notifies you of the new posts published by brands or friends that surface on the top of your News Feed. Timeline and the News Feed notifications will be “twice as fast,” according to Facebook. The changes will be most noticeable, however, when you’re looking through your photos or opening up the Timeline. The delays should be dramatically reduced and it should no longer be a chore to use the app. Facebook went deep into the guts of its new build on Android. Facebook software engineer Frank Du explained how the engineers approached speeding up Facebook’s performance on Android in the developer blog. He writes, “To support the unique complexity of Facebook stories across devices, we’re moving from a hybrid native/webview to pure native code, allowing us to optimize the Facebook experience for faster loading, new user interfaces, disk cache, and so on.” What Facebook’s app used to be was a combination of a Web app and native code. Essentially on Android, its apps were partially the website version of Facebook (built in HTML5) baked into Java code. Any code that’s pulling content from the Web would mean inevitably delays. For developers this would have meant saving time from going back into the native code and editing it, and users wouldn’t have to constantly update their app to a new version whenever even minor changes were made. Despite the benefits, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg admitted in September of this year that he sacrificed performance for convenience, which was an egregious mistake. There are still a few HTML5 elements remaining, although far fewer than before, but the app will perform much faster although you’re going to be seeing updates more frequently. You can get the updated Android App from the Google Play Store later today.

1 pointonce you start with windows 8 or window 7 by way of installing either from dvd or usb, you will get first screen where to install. There you will find your entire hard disk partitions. Remove all those patricians and make it as single hdd and then create primary partitions as you wish and format them. You will find fresh windows os without any trace of Ubantu.

1 pointUpdate : there are a few custom Roms out as well fior this build , but as there is no easy route to get them installed , i am not foraying into it myself , ( kinna busy these days ) A couple of my pals had difficulty with the Fk23 giving them force closes , usually that can be fixed by wiping cache and dalvik, but as we dont have a safe recovery on these atm i would advise them to backup all data on external SD card and flash the stock rooted Restore file - this will wipe all data on the phone here is the download link for Stock rooted , data wipe version of FK23 http://d-h.st/SK3 OR http://rwilco12.andr...ted_Restore.exe here is the MD5 : 4cce6ffec3fabe86983966a42fa120e6 ALSO FL04 latest JB leak will be out soon atm only the kernel and modem are up for flashing SEXTAPE is yet to get permissions to post the full build as and when one clicks will be out will post , but TBH the build still has the same issues as were there in FK23 ( yupp there were issues in that ;P ) as Rwilco sais Internal Storage still wiped... A few system apps come as 4.1.2 but you are immediately prompted to update to 4.2.1 from the Play Store! Connections Optimizer still defaults to on. these are nothing important , and doesnt affect the functioning at all.

1 pointstylebhai Answer calls simply by putting the phone to your ear! ProXimity Talk automatically answers calls as soon as you hold your phone to the ear. Additionally it can automatically transfer the call to the speaker when you move the phone away from your ear, or end a call by putting the phone face-down. The main features are: * Answer call by proximity * Action after going off-hook (incoming and outgoing calls) * Turn speaker on after going off-hook (only if phone away from ear) * Turn speaker on/off by proxmity * End call by turning the phone face-down or shaking * Go to home screen or stand-by after ending a call * Decrease ringer volume when phone gets moved (no false detections when shaked only) * Silence ringer by turning the phone face-down or shaking ProXimity Talk simply helps you to save unnecessary key presses: * Just look on the phone to see who is calling, and hold it to your ear to answer. * You often have to look up your calendar during a call, but do not want to turn on and off the speaker all the time - then ProXimity Talk is the right tool for you. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.insadco.proximitytalk

1 pointMost custom ROM's do not change radio. You can also open the zip file & check if radio.img exists. All Verzion Radio Support GSM 3G & EVDO as well. but in order to use EVDO using Chinese ROM, you need to have Chinese ROM installed, With Chinese Radio. No other ROM will solve the purpose. Radio does not help in booting. As the name in itself implies, Radio. Main issue comes with boot.img & hboot. Rest can be taken care of.

1 pointTry reflashing ur rom after wiping data. If u want to use gingerbread use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162156 its the same chinese rom without the Chinese start screen and app removed. For ics you can use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553357 (it will take 15-20mins for first boot after install) Both are working fine for me. Do post ur experience for others help.

1 point@ Renu : Geewiz is a great totally debloated , deodexed and zipaligned Rom , with a lot of performance tweaks in both the ROM and the kernel, you should use that , as far as market identification is concerned , well i have not been able to do it , i know it has to do with the location and prolly with the APNs , as all the ROms that we use are actually meant to be used in US , thats the reason market prices are always in $ , TBH i have never had any issue with Rs or $ coz i am not gonna buy anything from market But i ll talk around and will find a way , I am sure its a minor thing really . @ amitroutray : the ICS is still being tested and i am having a fairly good experience up until now , seems like loads of things have been fixed since i last tried it , still going to test for another day before deciding . @ Maverick : nice to see that you have settled in with Geewiz its a great ROM , one of the best i have ever used actually. Try and use Go Launcher Ex with it and download a couple of appealing themes , the performance will be outstanding
