11 pointsIt's great to share with you the 9th Anniversary of RIMweb.in as yet another eventful year has passed by. It has always seemed possible and today we are here celebrating an occasion close to our hearts! In 2012, we saw an upsurge in smartphone usage and popularity among our members thanks to Android. RIMweb.in would like to thank all its handset sellers for bringing a wide range of high end CDMA handsets for all members at the cheapest prices and for offerring a hassle free experience with activating both voice and data services on the Reliance CDMA network. The Reputed Seller Group members deserve a special mention for making the voice/data activation process much easier for everyone on their high end CDMA handsets which would have otherwise been a tough nut to crack on CDMA. Given the enormous growth and development of the smartphone & tablet market in 2012, we can expect some highly groundbreaking developments for high speed data services in 2013. It is shaping up to be the year of 4G / LTE in India according to the industry analysts. Reliance Industries' telecom subsidiary, Infotel Broadband, is expected to be game changer who is getting ready to unleash voice over data services when it launches high-end data services hopefully by the second half of 2013. Infotel Broadband is expected to shake up the telecom market in the same way as it did about a decade ago when it rolled out low-cost mobile services. We have now added a separate section for Infotel Broadband 4G LTE and will evolve it further according to the developments in the future. We would like to give a heads up that our Super Moderator Ashok Karkera is organizing a RIMweb Meet in Mumbai on the 6th of January, 2013. The date & place is tentative as of now; and you can keep in sync about the event in the forum topic and/or Facebook Group page: Keeping in sync with the latest happenings in the telecom & communications industry in India, RIMweb.in has always received commendable support from all you members! Not to forget, RIMweb.in is an unbiased independent / unofficial public discussion forum for the Reliance Mobile subscribers community and evolved later to support the entire Indian telecommunication industry. Today we can proudly say that the discussion forum has managed to help and support fellow members for all their queries, grievances and become a platform for sharing experiences in an efficient and effective manner. It has been a long plausible journey has left its marks on the Internet and in the hearts of many, individually. On behalf of all the members & moderators at RIMweb.in, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year - 2013 too! Time to bid Adiós to the year by and Congratulations once again to you, for the 9th Anniversary of the RIMweb Community! As part of the anniversary celebrations... and throwing the toast... we have a lot of goodies for you - the members who has made RIMweb what it is today! We are giving away online vouchers worth Rs.500, Rs.250 and Rs.100 to the top contributing 50 members. The top members have been filtered based on the Reputation points received during the past 1 year (December 23, 2011 - December 22, 2012) and the number of posts in the past year as well. The top 5 members will get Rs.500 worth online voucher, next 20 members will get Rs.250 worth online voucher and the remaining 25 members will get Rs.100 worth voucher. 2 pointsThere is one more plan where you bet unlimited whatsapp with m.facebook.com browsing for Rs 16/- but problem is that even though this plan is active, you are charged for net usage at normal rate. You have fight with RCOM to get the refund. there is some issue with their back end. Also other problem is that when you have android phone, it keeps syncing your device with gmail and hence net used. but users rarely realise this.

-
1 pointFL16 Another Epic Touch leak is out FL16 is being touted as the most stable , smooth and battery friendly build thus far. here is the link to NO data , rooted version , just flash as usual , it wont disturb your data and wont touch ur internal usb storage as well FL16_No.DATA.Restore.One.Click (md5: 9e4d2ca48b819950a7678da1d1d0edfb) If you get force closes and random reboots then this means the previous data is creating problems , in that case you should backup your data with mybackup root and flash the following full restore file to get to pure stock and full data wipe FL16_rooted_full_restore_One.Click

1 pointDr. Marc Faber, the investment guru, concluded his monthly bulletin with the following comments! : Dr. Marc Faber tells it how it is "The federal government is sending each of us a $600 rebate. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money goes to China . If we spend it on gasoline it goes to the Arabs. If we buy a computer, it will go to India . If we purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala . If we purchase a good car, it will go to Germany and Japan . If we purchase useless crap, it will go to Taiwan . In short, none of it will help the American economy. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in the US . I've been doing my part....."

1 pointI want to post my experience of MAXX battery life here. I am using International RazrMAXX (GSM only) bought almost 5 months back from eBay. Still I want to post it here and don't want to open a new thread in GSM-Phones discussion, because 1) Very few GSM only MAXX users here 2) Droid_RazrMAXX is almost RazrMAXX wrt GSM capability + Battery. I want to share my battery life experience for many times earlier, but my wife used to charge it on the second day itself when the battery level was around 50-60%. This time I have managed to use the phone for three days and taken screenshots and hence sharing here. Let me first describe my usage pattern. I make lots of phone calls (on UnLimited 1299 plan), play games/videos 20-30 mins a day, browse using WiFi mostly, Sync ON and DATA mostly OFF (I use BSNL 3G on GNexus), Coverage of Docomo is bad and switches to Aircel in zero coverage areas -- So NOT steady and good network signal.. But in this example, I have less voice calls usage than earlier (so comparable to general users) as I am in wedding function for two days. Result:- 3 Days - 0 Hours - 33 Mins - 3 secs on Battery and 16% battery life remaining (Please look at top for the battery Mod to accurate 16%) The slight bump in battery life is due to connecting to computer by USB cable for copying the screenshot after 2 days usage. Thats just 4-5% increase from 32% to 37% Screen Time:- Screen used 43% of battery life and Screen ON Time is 4 Hours - 12 Mins - 38 Secs Voice Calls:- Upto 28% of battery eaten by voice calls and Total duration is 4 Hours - 0 Mins - 5 Secs. Please note that even in same length of calls, calls duration in GSM will be less than CDMA as in CDMA call duration starts almost immediately after pressing Green key, whereas in GSM the duration counter starts only when the receiver attends the call. But GSM mode uses less battery for voice calls comparing CDMA mode. Games:- Playing GrannySmith for just 37 Mins - 1 Sec eats 3% of RazrMAXX battery life (May be 5-6% for other phones). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I will try to post my next usage with 2G data always ON, but in general its NOT affecting a lot imho and I earlier got FULL 2 days usage with still 25% battery life as spare. For me battery life is the most important feature in any phone and won't waste it unnecessarily. I have already rooted MAXX (in ICS) and removed bloatware to keep it in shape. I am sure RazrMAXX_HD will be having better results and I am too eager to buy it. But its Locked Encrypted Bootloader is stopping me from getting one. OMG GNexus comes with sh!tty battery life (needs to charge it twice a day) and the phones with Jumbo battery is coming with Jail attached. Now I am seriously considering GNote2, esp GNote2_N7102 Duos (launching tomorrow on PRC), which is best of both worlds (and size smaller than GNexus+MAXX combined in my shirt pocket)

1 point@AmitRoutray This boy is really amazing. I salute to him. @ Dipan This is the peak of stupidity. These guys don't know what they are doing. Their parents and family is going to suffer in the case of any mishappening with them. By the way, this video was posted earlier also, I think by Rajan Babu.
