Rajan Babu, many thanks for posting such a nice thread with very valuable suggestions to improve the buy / sell guidelines. +1 Its great to see members participating in this thread and giving valuable suggestions.....so please keep suggesting as much as you can, so that the Admin team could take the appropriate steps to update the Buy / Sell Guidelines. Even a small suggestion from you could be useful for the community. The above post definitely deserved not to be approved at all......but some Moderator would have approved it by mistake. Anyways, such posts should be reported on immediate basis by using the report button available in every post on the right side bottom.....I request members here to act as Moderators and report every post which you think is against the Forum Rules & Guidelines. Hats off to Arun (Admin) here.....as he is the one who do most of the moderation work......I'm nowhere comparable to him. Arun's contribution to this community is much more compared to any other Mods. / Super Mods. As this community is increasing day by day, so we do need more active Moderators for sure.....Long ago, I recommended Mr. Rajan Mehta's name as Moderator on the forum to the Admin Team.....I hope his name as Moderator is already under consideration. Dear friends, keep posting your valuable suggestions so that we can do the needful and revise the Buy / Sell Guidelines at the earliest.

Lets Start Firstly this is a Techno forum not a sales forum - so ANY one who Sells / Buys should consider a probability of risk, if there is a slightest doubt in any thing please don't buy / sell Secondly there is a separate group of Trusted seller which can not more classified - in to somewhat trusted - more trusted and most trusted and so on - its this or nothing if some one who buys from other should deal with them at their risk. Thirdly any seller should also move in caution and should not sell to any one (this if for point raised by parin) Fourthly I agree to increase the number of active mods and i vote for CID saheb (daddu ab nati pote wale ho gaye hai) Fifth we already have good enough guidelines in the first place - those who have bought recently and made deal have done so in incomplete half done post and profile which was not made as per the guidelines Sixth i dont know how but cant we have a bank account of our won to transfer funds - who pays to seller after complete deal and a nominal 200 - 500 is taken from them Seventh i liked the idea of getting a valid ID and other details of both buyer and seller exchanged before any deal is done, a reputed seller should deposit same with mods / admin Bahut go gaya - friends i was busy as i am getting expansion done in my lab so couldn't reply faster

Revised Buy-Sell Guideline Suggestion There are requests for changes in buy-sell guidelines due to some recent not so good experience from some newbie sellers. I thought of opening a fresh topic where we all can put our view forward and then Admin/Mods can take a final call. Background: As we all can see, recently there is increase in number of sellers who come on this forum ONLY for selling/making a quick buck/treating it as more of a BUSINESS. Getting a properly configured imported handset at a great price has been one of the unique attribute attached with this forum. This is enhanced by the fact that there is a reputed seller system where certain things are pre assured. Even for sellers who have not been in the reputed seller category, most of them are regular on the forum, contribute/help in various technical/other discussion. All this has resulted in most of the buyers attaching a much higher TRUST level to ANY sell topic here on this forum then others. Presumption from most buyers is always that every sell topic is good, buyer will get the items quickly, as described and with proper communication. Objective: The first objective of the forum is sharing of knowledge, help in technical matters. Buying/Selling though very important but is not THE primary thing for which the forum stands. It will be good if there are more reputed sellers but NEWBIES/Non Serious players who are here to make a fast buck/extra/side income can't be encouraged/allowed. Ofcourse if they are serious & continue with the forum, they will surely migrate to the next level in the long run. The system has to be designed as such. Regular Members who are selling occassionally OR single handsets (Upon changing/upgrading the handset) should face no difficulty/obstruction in posting their sell topics. (Ofcourse should comply with all rules) Proposed Changes in Buy-Sell Guidelines: Minimum number of posts for opening a sell topic for a single item should be 25 & Member since not less than 2 Month. (Applicable for All Members). If someone wants to open a sell topic with multiple items at a time, then the Minimum number of posts should be 100 & Member since not less than 6 Month. Someone wanting to sell multiple items but not having 100 posts but having 25 posts can post sell topics with a SINGLE item only, finish the transaction, receive the feedback & then open another topic for another item. No multiple ITEM sell post in the same topic to be allowed. All instances of sellers posting that he is having x phone/phones in stock for sell without actually giving complete details as per Buy-Sell guidelines should be strictly prohibited. There have been multiple instances of such practice recently with even the current problem sell topic of the fella with less then 10 posts having such post. See HERE in the third post he is mentioning handsets for sell without mentioning any details. This was not NOTICED/ACTED/ UPON. Not trying to blame anyone. Admin/Mods here do a wonderful job always. But we have only 2 Active as of today. Arun & Kamalbhai. Pretty busy too. Also this is complete free SEVA. It's entirely understadable that every topic may not receive every attention all the time. But then we should think of APPOINTING additional MODERATOR/s who can contribute. For used phone sell topic, minimum of 6 photographs compulsory displaying front/back and all 4 sides. As soon as the sell is closed, the posting member asks for closing the topic and it's closed immediately. No sell topic should be closed untill the buyer has posted the feedback. A separate TOPIC named Buyer's Checklist for Online Imported CDMA Handset Buying on RIMWeb should be created and a link to that topic should be made mandatory to be placed in all sell topics in RED Color (Except may be of Reputed Sellers). Possible Content of that topic given below Buyer's Checklist for Online Imported CDMA Handset Buying On RIMWeb Have you taken complete details of the seller like Full Address/Contact/Email/Numbers? Have you confirmed with the seller all details regarding MEID Registration/EVDO Data/Configuration/Activation? Have you confirmed with the seller regarding what services he will offer regarding above during initial sell & at the time of resale? Have you confirmed whether above services are free or chargeable? If chargeable, What will be the charges? Have you kept details of all communication with seller whether through pm/email handy? This will help in the event of a dispute. Have you satisfied yourself with the seller credentials/reputation/regular availability on the forum? Have you verified how long the seller is on the forum & checked the past feedbacks if any? Request all members to please share your inputs/suggestions regarding any of the above.

Kamal Bhai, please decide rules and re-open selling section quickly as I have to urgently sell one home theater BEFORE my wife comes back from Lucknow next week ! Have ended up buying 3 different models for use in one single bedroom - since none of them were perfect in terms of some finicky requirements i had (must fit bedroom shelf, have at least 100 watt rms & browse USB folders without TV display, and wireless subwoofer so that wires can be minimized - for the all important cleaning rituals of wife) Either re-open the thread before she's back OR i'll shift to your or Arun's house with the 3 music systems for a permanent party. And also have to sell Nexus 7 as daughter is reading ebooks 2-3 hours every day and it may affect her eyes etc. will replace with kindle/nook

I have been meaning to post this for a long time... I recommend Rajan Mehta for immediate promotion to moderatorship. He is active on the forum, highly respected and trusted. Plus he has common sense which is must for a mod. He is very right in saying there are only 2 maybe 3 active mods on the website and it is not possible for anyone to go through every post.

Dear Friends I believe Ebay Charges can be managed with Seller Margins at least for new Sellers. There is no control over newbies coming, writing comments on regular topics and reaching 10 post or 50 post mark. It will also help moderator to control unwanted traffic. IMHO , A seller selling in Ebay has a larger audience and him being here will give us the option to buy Classy Phones vide credit cards and EMIs.. I understand this puts a burden on New "Entry-Pruners" (Pun intended) but it saves some of the new ones from getting duped. I began here with buying Phones from Sadikk and at one point he was the Best , but then he became commercial and less forum minded which thrives on trust and help. Now he is not selling here, Ditto for Hitesh......See these were great guys and they went away. And of course : I too recommend Rajan Bhai and Aalok as Moderators. Additionally Some of us can be active Volunteers as to notify any suspicious activity or out of the line content specifically for Market Like Kapil /Parin/ Even Myself I wouldnt Mind being a volunteer just for reporting any such thing to Mods. (I m not a seller per se and I have no commercial Interest) It is a joint forum and a great one. We have relations being created here. i liked parin's way of taking courier fees via ebay. This is an added security since no one would want to be black listed at ebay/paypal and lose his potential earnings in the long run. new sellers could be made to follow this practice to cover a few % of their earnings.

GPS issues !! well a lot of u s2 users may have faced the GPS issues with your phone. it just doesnt get locked . there is a easy fix download an app called GPSTEST from market install turn on gps of phone in settings > location> click all three options run the app hit menu button hit settings hit clear AGPS button a couple of times > and then hit Update agps back back back and stuff go to maps and you ll get a faster lock now

As usual Rajan's ideas are pretty sensible & sufficient for addressing this issue:- a.) Increase minimum post requirement to 25 / 100 posts for single / multiple open sell threads (or maybe even higher; newbie sales isn't a priority here) b.) Have 2 months / 12 months membership requirement for single / multiple open sell threads c.) Have 1 additional category of sellers with more than 1-2 years membership - as suggested by Shreesh. Additionally, we could have a big red disclaimer on sell posts of members less than 1-2 years that Rimweb recommends that "newbie buyers" should only buy from the other 2 categories OR they should ask seller to put item on ebay and buy through paisapay. Since its only 1 incident I don't think we should do much beyond this. That post with so many phones was anyway not looking serious at all. And Rajan should definitely be a moderator to help ease the load on others. (I always assumed he is - devotes an exceptionally large amount of time here helping everyone).

1. My vote for Rajan Ji & also Dr. Vinay for moderator. Both are well known, helping,highly trusted and most of the time active on forum. 2. I think criteria of number of post for selling should be divided in 2 group : A. Bulk sellers: AA. Minimum number of post 200 (Also Buy sell posts/queries should not be counted same as general chat) AB. Minimum 6 months membership. AC. Valid address proof and ID proof. AD. First 10 selling post one by one only. Once a buyer gives feedback than only next selling post should be allowed. Now days if we look many people are coming for selling only. I think members should refrain buying from such sellers by their own. Its like Chinese phones No investment in R&D only business. Technology is growing due to brands who are investing a large part of money in R&D. Same applies to Rimweb sellers vs new sellers also. B. Regular Members selling one or two piece for upgrades or for community: For this category criteria should be decided by moderators. In my opinion current buy/sell guidelines are enough for this category. A buyer guidelines also required now such as posting feedback within prescribed timing for each transaction should be mandatory. Above all are my personal opinion and no intention to hurt anyone. Keep surfing Rimweb, where u will find such community/people in this world

Have already Flashed 3 phone with ICS. Its good. Many issues have been addressed in this ROM, New features added. And again I should mention as a TATA user 0=D issue is not there in this ICS ROM at least. So loving it a lot. Will install UKB tomorrow and should be having Data on CDMA using OMH. Custom ROMs.. everyone loves them

both GSM and cdma work with data. and as a Tata user I am not facing the 0/D issue any more. Chinese applications removed as well. it's amazing now.
