Install drivers on your PC ( if you havent already - connect your phone and let it do the installation of all windows drivers and stuff ) 2.. transfer the zip file stored in Files to put on your phone folder in your internal or external storage ( sd card ) 3.. now put your phone in download mode - by turning it comlletely off then press Vol down + hard home button + power button together you will get a yellow triangle screen then push vol up now you are in download mode. 4.. open the odin folder double click the odin exe file (plz refer to the images that are contained inside the main folder ) 5.. Connect your phone to PC via usb cable 6.. it should show as a com number on odin ( again refer to the provided image ) 7.. uncheck both Auto Reboot and F. Rest Time on odin 8.. hit PDA button ( make doubly sure that you hit only and only PDA button ) and give it the path to the recovery.tar.md5 file inside the root folder. 9.. confirm that your final screen looks just like that i have provided in the root folder 10.. If everything is like the picture click on the start button. It should move very quickly as recovery is a small file. It is normally completed within 10-20 seconds (depending on the speed of your computer and usb port). 11.. Sometimes Odin will not show "PASS!" in the top left corner until after the phone is unplugged. So observe the message window as well. If it shows "All Threads completed (Succeed 1 / Failed 0) you should be fine. 12.. Remove Battery and disconnect phone from computer. Now your phone has been flashed with a TOUCH CWM recovery PART 2 - Rooting the phone thru the Touch recovery 1.. put battery back in and reboot the phone in recovery mode by pressing vol up + hard Home button + power button together as soon as you see the SAMSUNG logo release the buttons the phone will boot into your new touch based cwm touch recovery 2.. in this you can do all by simply touching the options , you should be careful while using this as it is kinna touchy and selects the options pretty quikly /wink.png 3. Once in recovery tap on "install zip from sdcard". 4. Now you will tap either "choose zip from sdcard" or "choose zip from external sdcard" 5. Scroll by swyping up and down on screen. Tap on "TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip. 6. Tap on "- Yes - Install TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery -v5. Once complete, tap the "go back" button once and then tap "reboot system now". Lenovo will make CDMA and GSM handsets simultaneously and use the Reliance 'Dual Core' network to switch calls between the two networks automatically based on the strength and quality of RF signals. The Reliance Lenovo co-branded smart-phones will be available to Reliance CDMA and GSM customers. "Reliance Communications' partnership with Lenovo is aimed towards leading the next wave of Smart-phones and tablets across the country with the widest footprint of High Speed Data network of Reliance," Reliance Communications said in a statement. If i go buy the amount of downloads to the S3 files i have added i can say either not many people here own the SPRINT S3 ( which is strange ) or not many are willing to take any risk ( though there is no risk at all ) i dont think i ll make efforts for any updates in this thread then. well mr ananth , I am totally aware of the fact but this guide is for the people who are on stock , need to root and dont want to flash or download a 1GB somthing file , just for the sake of getting rooted. Hope this will clarify the reason why i have taken so much pain to write a tutorial and thinking of helping a few lads oput there. though i dont think that in your eyes i did any help to you , But THANKS . regards

The following settings are applicable for All the people (if any) who have bought a Samsung Fascinate (SCH-I500) from Reliance and are currently stuck with stock rom setup (eclair or froyo). As you know, 1x/3g data did not work on Custom roms (either touchwiz or mtd based). DJP952 from XDA (geewiz Rom) has helped me out with the following procedure which will enable you to have the latest Rom of your choice. Things you will need: 1) The Apns-conf.xml & cdma-carriers.xml file from your existing froyo or eclair rom 2) Yaffs explorer or similar app which allows you to edit your build.prop file 3) Custom Rom of your choice. Procedure 1) Copy the apns-conf.xml file and cdma-carriers.xml file from the following path /system/etc using yaffs explorer app to your sd card 2) Follow the procedure given by the Rom developer to flash a new custom Rom (MTD or Touchwiz) and subsequently any gapps and other apps like yaffs explorer. 3) After you successfully boot your phone and make sure everything is working fine do the following to enable 1x/3g data on your phone 4) Switch to Airplane mode 5) Copy the apns-conf & cdma-carriers files to the same folder ie /system/etc of new rom. Make sure to set properties as rw-r--r-- for both files. 5) Next you will need to Modify the build.prop with these settings: ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=40400 (original no will be something like 310012 etc) ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=Reliance (is usually verizon) net.cdma.pppd.user=user net ( is usually user[space]verizon) net.cdma.pppd.password=password net Remember that if you do not find any of these settings in build.prop file you can create new entry. Type just the settoings in BOLD . No extra spaces. Thats it. Just reboot and your phone will now connect to 1x/3g network. Cheers
