MTS has provided details recharge options in its website. For ROWB circle, I found many points which I reproduce below for your amusement. Smartphone data packs. Rs. 44 recharge gives pro-rata more data (125MB) than Rs. 91 recharge (it should be at least 258MB instead of 250MB) Rs. 996 recharge is for 4GB HSD (+unlimited 1X only) but you get 1/4th data at lesser price. Rs. 996/4= 249 >Rs. 246 (it gives 1GB HSD + 1X unlimited + 200 SMS/ day local & national) Who will go for Rs. 996 with lesser benefit? For 1536MB i.e. for 1.5GB the recharge value is Rs. 402 , but who will go for it when 1.5GB HSD data + 100 mins Local+STD is available @ Rs. 195 recharge? RS. 193 gives 600MB data but at Rs. 4 less i.e. Rs. 189 recharge gives only 88MB less but gives unlimited 1X data. Rs. 207 (150 min Local + STD, 150 MB Data) gives much lesser benefit than Rs. 204 recharge (225 min Local + STD, 225 SMS Loc+STD, 225 MB Data) with same validity! Simply Talk Packs: Rs. 202 recharge gives 500 minutes local & STD while Rs. 221 gives 450 minutes! Compare Rs. 249 (200 Mins Free for Local Onnet + 200 Mins Free for Local Offnet + 100 Mins Free for STD Calls) with Rs. 301 recharge (300 Mins Free for Local Onnet + 200 Mins Free for Local Offnet + 100 Mins Free for STD Calls), for only 100 minutes of on-net calls one has to recharge Rs. 52 more. So, on-net calls @ 52 paisa/minute! Tariff packs: All local calls @ 1p/2sec is available for 60 days with Rs. 24 recharge. But with Rs. 48 recharge the same benefit comes with a validity of 90 days. Who will go for that and lose one month’s validity? कौन बुरबक यह बनाया? You can find more items for your amusement if you try, I’m sure.

Yes, if it was FREE, it will be as good as useless... That doesn't means the service will be wonderful if Govt asks money for WiFi service, but atleast we will have a reason to complain due to provided services...

^^^superb news...but I believe a minimal charge like Rs. 10/8 Hrs. would have been a better choice...free things in india never works properly...look at the Govt. Hospitals..Also Railway could earn a large amount of money through this which can be utilized to enhance the Railway facilities...

Free Wi-Fi Internet Services in Trains To Be Launched Today Source NEW DELHI, APRIL 2: Train journeys may not be all that boring anymore. The Indian Railways is launching free Wi-Fi based Internet services today starting with the New Delhi- Howrah Rajdhani. Fifty other trains are expected to be connected this year. Train passengers will be able to browse the web, access email, chat, video services like YouTube and even play online games while travelling. Initially, 4 Mbps download bandwidth and 512 Kbps upload bandwidth is earmarked for internet facility in moving train. However, individual users may get much lower speeds because this bandwidth will be shared by all the passengers on the train. Nirav Dave, Managing Director, Techno Sat Comm (India) Ltd, the company which is providing the technology, said that in case the demand for bandwidth becomes high the network has the intelligence to prioritise traffic. “Critical communication applications like email or online transactions will be given top priority. Video downloads and gaming would be last, if there is a crunch on the bandwidth availability,” Dave told Business Line. “We had done trials with 120 passengers simultaneously accessing different types of Internet services on a 2 Mbps bandwidth and we found that there were no issues as far as download speeds are concerned,” he added. Access to porn sites will also be blocked. Technology Internet access to passengers has been provided using two-way satellite hybrid with 2G/3G and Wi-Fi. The system consists of on-board satellite tracking antenna, multiband antenna and Wi-Fi broadcasting equipment for on-board last mile connectivity. The primary broadband link to back haul the internet traffic is established via satellite and in the event of non-availability of satellite the multi-access router automatically switches from satellite to 2G/3G links to achieve 99 per cent connectivity. The satellite antenna is placed in one of the two power cars of the rake. This is linked through Wi-Fi radios provided outside of each coach. This is further distributed inside the coaches through indoor access point. Security To comply with the DoT’s extant guidelines for user authentication for public Wi-Fi networks, a detail log in process has been put in place. For accessing the service, passengers will have to provide mobile number, PNR number, Government ID (election card, Aadhar etc) for getting unique password by SMS on the mobile. The system will be scaled up to offer interactive multimedia entertainment with Internet Television in the future. In the Budget Speech for the Financial Year 2011-12, the Finance Minister had announced the initiative. “To introduce internet access in moving train was a technological challenge considering that the train passes through all type of terrain and continuous Internet access in all weather is to be provided. After due deliberations on various options for providing internet access, Indian Railways decided for satellite communication link to the train,” Dave said. This facility will be extended free of cost to the travelling passengers. The facility is being introduced for the first time on Indian Railways through the latest technology at a total cost of Rs 6.30 crore. The Railways intends to expand this service to other Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto express trains progressively based on customer feedback and acceptance.

^ Problem with Doc's Muse Chitrangadha is that she looks like too much 'talking & serious discussions' type of girl. Most of us being more 'action oriented' would prefer the one on the steel chair in Doc's 2nd image. More ergonomic too i guess. And healthy. Totally worth 22K ----------------------------------------------- Bought a Blackberry Z10. Amazing experience ! Even though the specs may not look bleeding edge on paper the overall experience if really unbeatable. Had been waiting for SGS4 launch, but didn't really like it so much - though its completely subjective, but I really don't like the way the galaxy line looks. And I waste too much time with android fiddling with things and apps. BB has like 2 pages of apps and a minor OS update every 1 year so its best for my productivity.
