3 pointsat least one company is taking care of bringing official evdo omh based smartphones to india. that too at an affordable price. i am glad it comes with gsm capability to avoid network stress in hills. needless to say i am a fan of htc interface & build quality. in case of htc one & galaxy s4 call it my conventional thinking but keeping all other comparisons at bay. i could or would never be able to bring myself to pay for a feeble plastic body infront of aluminium body. when it comes to looks, build quality & construction material samsung just keeps repeating their design with same material. you can barely differentiate a 16k samsung from a 40k samsung phone. they just want to tap the market and make money leaving all cadres of customers with no vanity value or class.(galaxy series are like clones from star wars , by the looks of them you cant tell which is the powerful jedi or a sith) just look at the number of galaxies you can buy......they keep releasing one after another so more and more people can rush and claim i have the latest galaxy (mega, quattro, grand , neo, pocket, ace, star, fame, s, s2, s3, s4, y, beam, chat, music, young) samsung phones just lack the one thing that matters alot when you are willing to pay for something thats so personal to you and involves most of your time & activity. IDENTITY htc if nothing else , is at least a breather.

1 pointHaier CG220 or Micromax C190? which is better handset? my mom is going to use the same. not needed features reliance mobile world camera dual sim needed features good overall and call quality better service support simple phone with speed dial feature (she calls only 4-5 family members) budget is 2,500 - 3000. initially i was going to purchase micromax q1c but then thought against it (anyways, it is not available now) and decided to get micromax C115. i have used samsung SCH191, then LG RD5130 and now LG RD 3510. none of the good established brands are now making cdma handsets. suggestions friends. either of them or some other one?

1 pointSo true. Instead of being a premium brand, galaxy is becoming more like a commodity. Samsung should have had completely different sub brand and different LOOKS for their range, otherwise its no use paying 30-40K when it looks same as their 10-15K phone.

1 pointI dont think there will be network problem in that area. RGSM is economical than Vodafone. But Vodafone has one the best networks in Mumbai. Trump, I would not recommend. Nokia 101 is good enough but have no experience so cannot comment. I would rather go for RGSM as it is recommended by the aid and also you will be having backup SIM. You have to see others convenience when you are dependent on them. Also changing number/service provider (using MNP) is not big issue.

1 pointI havent seen problem in Mazgaon on RGSM. But there are dark patches in the area. So it is always better where exactly your teacher is. Are you talking about Ashadan? The best would be to ask people working there. They will let you know. I think Vodafone should be better.

1 pointI bought an htc Desire X for my wife. Quite a change from her Wildfire S and my Dinc 2 (CDMA). I have not worked inside a system for over two years. Also, I decided not to root her phone, and have not unlocked the bootloader either. Now I have some queries: 1. I have managed to transfer the phone book (Ritesh Sahu) and sms'es. Is there a way of transferring the call history? 2. I checked but did not find the OTA upgrade to Jelly Bean (4.1 it is). Any URL's 3. I hear there is a way of saving the 'masala' somewhewr on the web, so that restoring after an upgrade is relatively painless. I find even ICS 4.0.1 smoother than the Gingerbread (2.3) which is what I have on both the older phones. Please advise.
