I was looking for this for a long time and finally founded it and thought it would be helpful to have a clean thread Thanks to Joshm for his guidance 1. Make sure that your mobile should have 70 – 80% battery & [uSB Debugging] is enabled in your phone, if it is not go to Settings -> Developer Options and enable it. 4. Put your phone in DOWNLOAD Mode. You do that by pressing Volume Down + Home + Power button and hold it down till you see a warning screen. When you see the warning screen hit Volume Up to allow Download Mode. 5. Now that your phone is in Download Mode you are going to connect your phone to your computer with ODIN RUNNING if everything connects correctly you will see ODIN highlight on the ID:COM box as Yellow. 6. Press the PDA button, ONLY PDA & select the .tar.md5 file and Hit START. How To Root your Samsung Galaxy S3 - US Cellular [sCH-R530U] Hello everyone, Well this is one of my first tutorials for this forum on how to ROOT your Samsung Galaxy S3 - US Cellular [sCH-R530U]. I just recently got my Samsung Galaxy S3 from Parin da and found that if you update with the latest OTA your phone will lose Data. So I decided to Root my S3 now. It's quite easy with Odin. ThanX to Sougata da I would write this tutorial and maybe it might help others out there. Most Important Data Loss Issue: Don't go for OTA Update, otherwise you will loss your Data NO WARRANTY Use at your own risk, I'm not responsible for bricking your device Here is the step by step process I used to root it. Okay step 1. you are going to need some files... First thing you are going to need is the Samsung Drivers so you can connect your phone to your computer and your computer can recognize it. Links: Samsung Drivers for S3 step 2. Now you are going to need the Odin with MD5. Links: R530U ODIN with CF-Auto Root.md5 File MD5: B284379F181A6C6AC38A2C11EAF51F8F This is the CF-AUTOROOT file and this is what roots your phone. check the MD5 first before flashing First thing we are going to need to do is install the Samsung USB drivers, So do that. After the drivers are installed plug in your phone and make sure that it connects to your computer correctly, after it connects disconnect your phone from your computer. Next thing we are going to need to do is extract the ODIN zip file and install the Odin executable. Step 3. Make sure that [uSB Debugging] is enabled in your phone, if it is not go to Settings -> Developer Options and enable it. Step 4. Put your phone in DOWNLOAD Mode. You do that by pressing Volume Down + Home + Power button and hold it down till you see a warning screen. When you see the warning screen hit Volume Up to allow Download mode. Step 5. For me, s3 Verizon is best of all the worlds Main features being 1. Gsm / cdma freedom 2. Call conference works in aokp / cm roms in cdma 3. Call recording works 4. Decent battery life 5. 2gb ram which is max even in other top end phones like htc one or likes. After using for so many months, 2gb ram has become must 6. Vfm pricing Using mine for around 6+ months n still don't feel to upgrade... my handset worked for data and sms out of the box. but when i updated the firmware and OS OTA, the latest firmware locked the sms function. the portico update blocks the sms function and i am no longer able to send sms. so kindly dont update untill a way is found to make the sms work. if anyone has made this work in reliance, kindly let me know.

Reboot phone > it will take another 10 or so minutes , once it boots shut it down 8.. remove battery > put phone in download mode again ( by holding vol down and inserting the data cable ) > and in PDA section flash the clockworkmod fixed for Cm9 file 9.. Once it completes > put the battery in > DONT restart phone > instaed push and hold volume UP and Volume Down and power button together and you will boot into a all new BLUE cwm recovery 11.. wipe DATA/factory reset > wipe cache partition > go to advanced > wipe dalvik cacahe 12.. Once done > Flash the Team hacksung ics build 15 mentioned in part 1 , ( which you have stored on ur SD card ) > if upon completion of ROM flash, your phone itself restarts and goes back to recovery again > dont panic > again wipe all three and flash the Rom again 13.. once Rom flash completes > flash the DEVIL kernel mentioned above > flash the gapps ( as mentioned in part 1 ) > once them are done> flash the data fix PROFIT again btw : You cant hold me or RIMWEB responsible, If upon following any of the above steps YOUR PHONE bricks and becomes an expensive paperweight, or ghosts start to haunt you or anything bad happening to you.
