7 pointsBackground: I've received a new Sprint HTC One on Wednesday evening, I unlocked it for GSM & about to sell this phone locally or make a sale thread over here, I even took photos of the phone to put up a sale thread of it. But thought of checking if I can get it working for RUIM, so post-poned of making a sale thread for a day(proved to be worth it). I already bought Reliance CDMA Pre-Paid SIM even before the item has reached me, as I bought this phone for myself but later(during the item in transit) I decided to sell. How It Happened: 1)Well I've put reliance PRL in the phone, it catched reliance signal, *228 gave me message that "Your device couldn't be activated" which is expected for a non-registered(MEID) mobile. Made the phone read from RUIM, put the RUIM in, it picked up reliance signal(I didn't know whether it use PRL file(NV) or SIM). It showed 'Digital Roaming' in status, I think this phone is still active on some one's sprint account, although I bought this as a BAD ESN. I dialed *228, to my surprise, I saw 4-5 messages like 'NAM is Updated' & phone was programmed OTA by Reliance, the phone rebooted immediately(on its own). All this was done on stock with latest firmware & rooted. After the OTA I checked the phone info in CDMA and I got new MIN, IMSI & some other parameters like MCC, SID are changed to reflect that the phone was indeed received OTA program from Reliance. 2) Since the RUIM(sim) I'm using is a new connection, I was asked by the sim vendor to dial 5909 to verify my details so that the services could be activated on the RUIM. But when I dial 5909 I got the IVRS message that I need to call Reliance customer service if I want to use their services. I flashed AOSP ROM & tried calling 5909, and again to my surprise it got connected & I was able to get my details verified, within few minutes services were activated on the RUIM(sim). What's Working: This is all done on Stock, rooted. So far, calls, text msgs(sending & receiving) working, I think data also working got 3G symbol displayed for some time(some packets are received & sent(checked the data information in the phone info section, just when 3G symbol is displayed I saw packets sent & received in the phone info section). But can't say for sure, because the RUIM(sim) got activated just couple of hours ago. Any Issues: Don't know If I should call this as issue but I'll let you decide & suggest me to get rid of this(although I'm working on it). As I said earlier in this post, the RUIM got programmed OTA while it was in 'Digital Roaming', it is still showing same thing 'Digital Roaming' & it will show Roaming warning whenever you call, although calls & text msgs are being charged as per Reliance plan on my RUIM only, no roaming charges. Here is the interesting part, if I stop roaming by going into Settings-->Mobile Data-->Roaming & selecting 'Home Only', the phone completely stops receiving signal. I don't why it still needs that Roaming part to be active even though it is not truly in roaming & I was charged as per Reliance plan on my RUIM only, absolutely no roaming charges. And there is no issue with GSM but with CDMA mode you get that 'Digital Roaming'. I hope some one experience shed some light on this & suggest a solution for this. Proof That Data Working:

1 pointWith the Non-compete Agreement scrapped couple of days ago between Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani, do you think Mukesh Ambani will give another shot at Telecommunications by starting a new telecom company? In my opinion he may not and would enter into the financial sector, but he can't start a new bank since Reserve Bank of India will not give a license to an industry house. Maybe Mukesh will foray into Power sector?

1 pointI was having Airtel CUG for few years, multiple connections. Plans were good but they recently stopped the series of plans I had. New plans created for these stopped plans are costly. Tried several discussions with local airtel Corporate Team but they are not so helpfull when asked for new CUG plans for existing connections, they are eager only when u need to add connections. Does anyone have a airtel showroom or know anyone having airtel showroom who can help by checking national level plans for me. why airtel national level corp plans because, they are cheaper in all aspects (mostly). If any member can help let me know

1 pointHi i am using mtnl bb from past many years, Mtnl has taken good care of me always, but from past three months i am sick of a strange issue with my connection. Upon booting up my sterling sam 300 modem takes anywhere between half an hour to may be one hour to latch onto network, ( adsl keeps blinking all this while) But once it connects, it stays connected and doesnt disconnects or gives rto. I have got my line changed, local and remote pairs changed, Instrument and splitter all changed, but the issue is still there, for this reason I have to keep the power to the modem on all the time. Has my modem gone rogue or what's the issue. Thanks Sent from my SCH-R950 using Tapatalk 2

1 pointRequirements ROM Toolbox Lite Root access to your phone. COMPLETE STOCK STATE ONLY. By doing this you may/maynot brick your phone, I take no responsibility if you brick your phone. This is not copied from any other forum, I did this with basic Android knowledge. Run Rom Toolbox Lite Select app manager, once the app manager finishes scanning, it will show majorities of the running processes. Look for System Update, click on it and select freeze. DONE, You will never get the "Activate your phone" notification. I have done this process to my phone. I don't have any problems till date. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

1 point^^^^ Your sid nid shows you are on reliance network, For you prl is not required for call and sms. you should get Akey from your seller or person who did registation . Akey generated from MEID may not be registered in RIM. Also in your attached photos, MIN is zero or your phone number, That may be the problem , min normally starts wth 1 or 2 and it is 10digit number you get thru OTA.

1 pointThink Your Smartphone is Sluggish, Your Memory Card is The Culprit Source Source Source This was a revelation waiting to happen. After spending thousands behind that latest dual core android beasts, do you still think, it lags in performance. Your Memory Card is to be blamed for that... Reason perhaps Apple Still does not allow Memory Cards in iPhones after all this years!!! As per a recent study, "Revisiting Storage For Smartphones" at the Georgia Institute of Techbology on File and Storage Technologies.. Download Full Study Paper >> http://static.usenix..._papers/Kim.pdf With manufacturers focusing on the speed and number of cores a smartphone’s processor features, megapixel numbers, and network technologies like LTE, the performance of an Android handset should largely be based on its hardware, right? Wrong, according to a new study undertaken by researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The type and brand of microSD storage installed in the device could just as well be the culprit. Their study that found that flash storage often accounted for a 100 to 300 percent drop in performance. In one instance the numbers dipped by an astonishing 2,000 percent. The researchers tested top selling 16GB embedded flash memory cards in several Android smartphones and found performance over WiFi varied between 100% to 300% across applications. In one flash memory test, performance dropped more than 20X. Ironically, benchmarking tests showed that some lower grade microSD cards performed better than some higher grade cards. As for naming names, Kim writes that Kingston's microSD card performs so badly that its results need to be removed from test data to get realistic averages. Transcend performs the best for random writes by as much as a factor of 100 compared to the competition. The bottom line is that the brand of microSD card you use in your device does make a difference in how fast it runs. Kim checked the launch time for eight popular apps including Angry Birds, Twitter and YouTube and found that Kingston's microSD cards offered up the slowest times for most of the apps. And for those who complain about how sluggish their Android model is, a change in the microSD card brand you use could make the difference. "A good chunk of time for users is spent waiting for websites to load ... [and for] applications to load," said Hyojun Kim, a Ph.D. student in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. And, while waiting for apps to load is annoying, a more nefarious impact of poor flash performance is that it depletes a smartphone's battery. Kim said wireless network performance has kept pace with most of today's mobile applications, as have the single and dual core CPUs being used in today's sophisticated smartphones. What hasn't kept pace is the bandwidth of NAND flash, he said. "Why would anyone want to see a 20-second wait time on their phone, particularly if the network is not the problem," he said. The research identified the problem with poor flash device performance to be rooted in random I/O from application databases such as heavy random writes. In flash memory, random write performance is orders of magnitude worse than sequential writes, Kim said. The smartphone tests involved the use of applications such as WebBench Browser, Facebook, Android Email. Google Maps, App Install, Pulse News Reader, and RLBench SQLite. The flash cards came from Transcend, RiData, SanDisk, Kingston, Wintec, A-Data, Patriot Memory and PNY. "Apart from the benefits of selecting a good flash card, there are some fundamental ways we're using storage in a bad way," he said, referring to the way many applications are created to write data randomly, which causes flash performance to fall of a cliff.

1 point^^^ even after using download managers? Besides there are many scripts that can help you achieve that with task scheduler. I am on 1mbps unlimited now but earlier i used these things to sleep peacefully at night. Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
