2 points^ Chip based cards can never be accomodated in COIN or the 2-3 identical products in the market because Chip & Pin cards keep encrypted keys on board and they can not be copied like a Magstripe card. This is one of the key problems with Coin. Other identical products like Geode etc have flopped mainly because simple magstripe credit/debit cards are only prevalent in US while the rest of the world including Europe have shifted to, or are shifting to, Chip & Pin cards. Even in India RBI has mandated out the magstripe cards and after a few extensions all credit card terminals / POS machines will be dip (ie chip) and not swipe ones. Even US is now started shifting to Chip cards though magstripe is expected to be in parallel use for another 1-2 years. So Coin which is launching mid of NEXT year will have just 1 year before it becomes useless. Or it can be used only for Loyalty Cards etc. Further, all CHIP cards are technical capable of have multiple cards on them (they have segregated protected memory areas called pouches and some banks with Chip cards already allow super markets or cash card etc companies to use a pouch for some payment. So if consumers seem to like having all cards in one device the chip cards will start having multiple cards. Off course the rivalry between banks will spoil this for some years but if some non banking / neutral company launches a Chip & Pin card and lets all banks load their cards on to it then it can be a much better option than Coin and similar products. On top of that with Google introducing HCE (host card emulation) in Kitkat / Android 4.4, google wallet as well as any other app can do transactions without requiring a secure element (which was held back by the Telecom companies in US as it's usually put inside the SIM card) and Apple and iOS both are expected to start using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) for passbook and wallet soon. BLE has certain technical advantages like not requiring the physical tap like NFC readers, better encryption etc but the most important advantage is a practical one - few phones come with NFC but within 6 months ALL bluetooth chips will have BLE (currently apple iphone 4S onwards have BLE or BT4 while Samsung S3 onwards and Nexus 4 onwards have BLE. though BLE was only enabled in Android from 4.3, but samsung had their own drivers which were being used in S3/S4 before 4.3)

1 pointHello RIMwebians, This thread has been opened to clear all the doubts regarding using DATA Services on Reliance CDMA Phones. I see many members seeking for help to know details about the plans, or many members ends up making huge Bills due to wrong plan selected or wrong PPP used. PPP plays an important role while using the DATA on CDMA phones, its same as like APN in the GSM. The PPP you will use, you will be charged as per it only. There are two PPP :- RMW PPP and RNC PPP. If one use RMW PPP by taking RNC plan or vice versa, it will end up in huge bill or sudden decrement from Prepaid Balance. All PPP settings are initially done by your seller in case of Imported Handsets and are set to RMW in case of Proprietry Reliance Handset. So carefully choose the plan and use the PPP Accordingly. All plans listed can be used on the phone or tether to your PC. Any member can ask the question about the same if there is any doubt and all queries will be answered and solved within 48 hours. 1 pointSamsung working on 3-sided screen phone / bendable touchscreens / foldable displays + Apple is working on curved screen smartwatch Source Samsung, which launched the world's first smartphone with a curved screen last month, is now reportedly developing a smartphone with a wraparound screen. The screen of this phone wraps around the edges so users can view messages while viewing from an angle and each side of the display works independently, according to a Bloombergreport. The South Korean manufacturer's wraparound screen smartphone would be using an upgraded version of its Youm technology, which was showcased in January this year. This display technology is also used in Galaxy Round, the company's only curved screen smartphone. Bloomberg's report, citing two sources close to the development, said: "The display may be used in the S or Note series of premium handsets or may be the first in a new line." However, the report was unclear about the launch date of the device.Samsung doesn't have a specific release date for the new device, but the handset is more likely to come out during the second half of next year. Samsung has already revealed its roadmap for smartphones, saying it will launch handsets with bendable touchscreens next year and models with foldable displays in late 2015 or 2016. Other companies are also working on new display technologies to compete in the booming smartphone market. Soon after Samsung launched the world's first handset with a curved screen, LG had launched a similar smartphone, named G Flex. Apple too is reported to be planning a curved screen iPhone next year that may feature a larger display than its earlier variants. Apple is also said to be working on a curved screen smartwatch.

1 pointSomehow my instinct gives me a bad feeling about this listing! Seller joined ebay only on 4th October 2013. Out of 65 user ratings, majority are for private listings so you can't see the item & value. Remaining user ratings are all for charger/usb cable not in excess of Rs 150 in value. In the listing seller says "Ships same day" whereas in reply to buyer questions mentions following, Hi If I order this item today then how much time you will take to place order? Locaion delhi Thanks Monish 10-Nov-2013 Dear Manish as these products are imported deliverys will actually be little bit delay Which we will inform you very soon . Sir we are selling this item very cheap coz we brought one lot of stuffs from singapore under auction as shopkeeper was moving out of his business Now this is not to discourage/put down anyone, all the above may not matter / i may be wrong in the end but currently my "If Its Too Good To Be True, Its Not True" signal indicator is at highest threat level, Code RED! Those who bought please share what happens & those who will buy, Be Safe.
