Many of us still using WInXP, some like me uses in dual boot with win7 / Linux. Some times good old windows is required. But when using this good old windows, urgency comes and we need to connect our new age phones to windows XP for data transfer. and suddenly we come to know that, MTP drivers are missing or not supported in this XP. LOL.... above statement looks familiar ?.... same happen to me today with my XP sp3 and Moto G, So found a work around and got my Moto G connected to win xp as MTP device without much trouble. Windows XP sp3 already have MTP support in build, but only dont know which are MTP devices, So we have to let windows know by adding device's VID and PID to MTP driver INF. Below is sample of MTP INF, with added MOTO G info in bold letters. INF folder is located inside windows directory Above can be done for all mobile MTP devices, you can have a look at this screen shot to get VID PID of device, just copy Hardware ID and replace in INF. and your work is done. If any one want help in modifying their INF file, do let me know, will do it for you. You can try this - Use DFS, reboot phone dont do anything on it ( as boost DIAG mode stays on even after reboot ), just send spc thru DFS, write PRL in normal mode, then select offline A and again write . then reboot phone and check . Sent by Moto G on Reliance CDMA

You can go for HTC Desire 700C. If your budget not allowing goto HTC Desire 600C. If you want bigger screen wait for Desire 816. I don't know any other handsets that supports 3G data on both GSM and CDMA

But VA has mentioned this issue is with prepaid from 16th onwards.. What does your last postpaid bill say - VAS data charges ?If you want you can PM your no or send the bill screenshot, I'll check. Btw.. Anyone here can send a PORT msg & claim a retention discount of Rs 100x6 months, in most of the circles! if the old handset is blank (without an account/mdn) this deduction doesn't make sense.. Servers shouldn't really be getting confused Maybe their software needs an overhaul of sorts.. Firstly, wrong evdo working & then these charges!

this solution is to fix the proximity sensor which goes bad sometimes and even after the call the screen stays black until the person on line cuts the phone or if you press the power button this happens due to dirt and dust accumulating over sensor. so to check if your sensor is working properly do the below test to check sensor dial *#0*# and select sensors(tested on note 2,s4,note 3) when u put your hand on proximity sensor screen turns green with vibration and when u lift your hand it turns back to white but if it doesnt turn white after removing hand that means the sensor has a problem so we lower the value at which the sensor responds note :-you need to be rooted to follow this procedure open cmd and change to your adb folder and type the following command adb shell (you will get a notification on your phone screen accept it) su (give root privilege in phone) echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/sensors/proximity_sensor/prox_cal echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/sensors/proximity_sensor/prox_cal NOW cat state # put your finger on the sensor and check the value (my came 255) now remove your finger from sensor (it came 51) cat state # This returned 255 #finger on the sensor and 51 #blank value and then do cat /sys/devices/virtual/sensors/proximity_sensor/prox_cal this returned 0,60 45.....so my offset was 0. Ths sum of offset and #blank value was 0 + 51 = 51 that is equal to 33 in HEX. so i increased to 55 and hex value 37 then echo -en $'\x37' > /efs/prox_cal the value 37 will change according to your phone do the above math chown system:system /efs/prox_cal chmod 644 /efs/prox_cal sync reboot now the sensor is working you can check again by dialing *#0*# and do the test again
