You are missing some codec. Find which codec is missing using GSpot Codec Finder. After finding the required codec, download free codecs here. Or else use a Media Player like VLC which comes with many codecs inbuilt.

Check for TATA Indicom's availability here. However, they will provide connection after feasibility study only. TATA Indcicom's ADSL connection is very steady and gives the mentioned speeds all the time. Its a 1:1 connection.

I just noticed a new section (added in March 2006 it seems) in their website called "Service Assurance Cell". It enlists an email address, FAX number and contact details of nodal officers for each circle. Has anyone tried sending your complaint/grievance through there ? How responsive have they been in attending to it ? Anyway, I'm sending a complaint now regaring my bill issue, lets see how it goes with them

For prepaid users, there is only one default plan which you have mentioned. i.e., 50 paise/minute for peak hours and 25 paise/minute for off-peak hours. Time based/Data based plans are available for post paid users only. However, there are new time based R-Connect vouchers being launched for RIM Prepaid now, which is discussed here
-
Its normal for RIM to launch new products in a particular state initially and then expand them into other circles. So if it goes right for them in TN circle, this voucher should be available in all other circles soon, as thats what the previous new products launch trend suggests in RIM's case.

Arun replied to thinkpositive's topic in The Lounge
Yes, that was the same one, and that site was using the PHP script which i mentioned in my previous topic. The PHP script used the ri.irisme.net gateway. -
You do seem to have a Graphics Card, so try to have your Hardware vendor to figure it out for you. Anyway, you can try downloading and applying this patch from Microsoft

Free Sms To Rim Only No Other Network Supported !
Arun replied to thinkpositive's topic in The Lounge
It was like sending an email to 91+mobile_number@ri.irisme.net format, though it has to be sent from a mobile phone or use a PHP script. It was't only for RIM, but it was possible to send SMS to all other networks too. But since the ri.irisme gateway was down, it stopped working forever. -
Check in Device Manager under System Properties.

Its not a virus/spyware, but this is what I found while searching for it, hope it helps in your case...

New Google Search Technologies Make Information Easier to Discover, Organize and Share - Press Release from Google Inc. MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 10, 2006 Today, Google Inc. announced new technologies to enhance and improve the search experience. Three new products Google Co-op, Google Desktop 4, and Google Notebook advance the state of the art in search by helping users worldwide find and share more relevant information. The products all incorporate new capabilities that leverage user communities, enabling users to either share more information with others or benefit from other users' expertise to improve the accuracy of search results. The company also introduced Google Trends, a new tool that enables users to examine billions of searches conducted on Google to gain insight into broad search patterns over time. "Google Co-op and the other new services announced today combine the power of Google's technology with the context, knowledge, and unique expertise of individuals," said Jonathan Rosenberg, senior vice president, Product Management, Google Inc. "As a result, users can find the information they are looking for no matter how specialized or specific faster than ever." Google Co-op Beta Google Co-op beta is a community where users can contribute their knowledge and expertise to improve Google search for everyone. Organizations, businesses, or individuals can label web pages relevant to their areas of expertise or create specialized links to which users can subscribe. Once a user has subscribed to a provider's content, all of that provider's labels and subscribed links are added to the user's search results for relevant queries. These contributions serve as meta information that helps Google's search algorithms connect users to the most relevant information for their specific query. Users interested in contributing can get started at http://www.google.com/coop For example, a doctor can label web pages related to arthritis, and users who subscribe to that doctor's information will receive options at the top of the results for more specific information such as "treatment," "symptoms," or "for health professionals" when they enter a relevant query. As a first step, Google has worked with partners to annotate web pages related to health and city guides and to offer dozens of subscribed links to specialized content such as restaurant and movie information. Going forward, the broader online community will begin building out new topic areas and subscribed links to help improve the way people find and discover information online. Users can subscribe to content and providers at http://www.google.com/coop/directory. Google Co-op is available today on all English language Google domains including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Google Desktop 4 Beta Also announced today, Google Desktop 4 beta available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, and Brazilian Portuguese offers another way for users to improve their search experience, by personalizing their desktops with the introduction of Google Gadgets. These gadgets are mini-applications that reside on users' desktops and deliver a variety of personalized information such as games, media players, weather and news. Google Desktop can also recommend new gadgets and can automatically create a personalized homepage for users based on the subjects they frequently search and access. Google currently has hundreds of gadgets users can add to their desktops and with the new Google Desktop Gadgets API, developers can easily create and share their own gadgets with other users. Google Desktop 4 also enables users to: Access their Google Gadget content and settings from other computers and protect it from computer crashes by saving it online. Add favorite gadgets from their personalized Google homepage right onto their desktops. Easily access other Google services from their desktop. For example, users can view upcoming birthdays with the orkut.com gadget, see what's popular on Google Video, or access their Google Calendar directly on the desktop. Manually re-index their computers or remove deleted files from search results. Additionally, Google Desktop 4 now offers an option for network administrators to disable Search Across Computers on both the consumer and enterprise versions of the product at the network level by simply blocking access to a specific URL. Google Desktop 4 will be available in additional languages and include more localized features for users around the world as the product evolves. Additional information on the newest version of Google Desktop is available at http://desktop.google.com Google Trends from Google Labs Available today from Google Labs at http://www.google.com/trends , Google Trends builds on the Google Zeitgeist to help users find facts and trends related to Google usage around the world. Google Trends enables users to learn how popular a particular search term has been on Google over time and see the relevant news articles that ran on that subject. "For the first time ever, Google is making it possible to sift through billions of search queries from around the world to see what people are thinking about," said Marissa Mayer, vice president, Search Products and User Experience, Google Inc. With Google Trends, users will be able to observe the collective interests of all Google users to gain general insight into topics such as people's preferences on ice cream flavors, American Idol contestants, or the relative popularity of brands and politicians in specific countries. Google Notebook from Google Labs Google Notebook is a simple way for users to save and organize their thoughts when conducting research online. This personal browser tool permits users to clip text, images, and links from the pages they're browsing, save them to an online "notebook" that is accessible from any computer, and share them with others. Google Notebook is an interactive scratch pad for every website a user visits, offering a single online location to collect web findings without having to leave the browser window. For example, if a user were planning a vacation, she could clip the most relevant materials on the pages she visits and add personal notes to help organize all of her research. Users can make their Google Notebook public and share the notes they've taken with others. As a result, the time and effort put into their research can be harnessed by the online community as a whole. Google Notebook will be available next week from Google Labs at http://www.google.com/notebook

Running Prog Installed On Win 98 Thru Xp
Arun replied to drali's topic in General Technical Discussion
no harm in that, but if it is a system software like anti-virus, firewall, etc., then it is not recommended. Such system softwares most probably won't even run on the other OS. -

If it is the "Service Required. Contact Provider" message, then the only way out is to get the board replaced from the Kyocera Service Center, which is charged Rs.6000

harm in what sense ? other than causing a little more load on the CPU for some time, there is no other real harm. Anyway if you have real time monitoring enabled in NAV, you don't have to run the scan everyday. Just run the full scan once, then update the virus signature file and then keep real monitor on.

Arun replied to drali's topic in General Technical Discussion
Forwarding to other email accounts in Rediffmail is possible only for Rediffmail Plus users, not for free accounts. Rediffmail Plus has POP/SMTP access along with email forwarding. -

BSNL, MTNL fracas: Who stands to lose? - Press Trust of India May 08, 2006 17:49 IST State-run Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited may stand to lose two of its exclusive mobile service offerings -- seamless connectivity and free roaming with BSNL -- if it moves to other private players for carrying its STD traffic, saving a few billions in the process. A senior BSNL official said it would not be easy for MTNL to get the all-India connectivity if it moves away from BSNL as none of the private NLD operators have the network reach to match BSNL and eventually these private players would have to turn to BSNL to carry NLD traffic of MTNL to reach each corner of the country. BSNL may decide not to carry these private players voice traffic at that time. In any case BSNL does not have any roaming agreement with private players. Currently Reliance Communication Ventures, VSNL and Bharti are the NLD licencees apart from BSNL. Stating that even if over 95 per cent of the calls that MTNL generates are terminated in cities and towns where even other LD players have networks, the real problem will start when MTNL subscribers move outside these two metros to remote areas. BSNL officials said though the value of carrying MTNL's NLD traffic is about Rs 1200 crore (Rs 12 billion), BSNL actually gets much less than that as the PSU does not pay upfront the entire amount. BSNL carries both basic and cellular long distance traffic for MTNL. When contacted, BSNL CMD A K Sinha declined to comment on what MTNL will stand to lose out by snapping the NLD ties with BSNL but said, "I have come to know of it from the media reports and have asked my officials to check on it. "Whatever it is, we will consider it in totality. At this stage, we can't comment on anything". MTNL CMD R S P Sinha was unavaliable for comment. MTNL officials admitted that the most vital features -- seamless connectivity and free roaming -- would be lost if BSNL does not carry the NLD traffic of BSNL. Three years ago, BSNL and MTNL decided for a seamless roaming between the two networks to ensure smooth mobility and connectivity to their cellular subscribers accross the country without any roaming charges. MTNL is the incumbent telecom service provider in Delhi and Mumbai. The company doesn't have its own NLD network. BSNL is the incumbent telecom service provider for the rest of the country. BSNL is the NLD carrier for MTNL. MTNL pays 65 paise a minute for carrying NLD traffic to BSNL. MTNL itself has applied for a NLD licence from DoT and is believed to have got in-principle approval for it. But it still has not got the licence.

Found a better browser that works on the Kyo... Xiino 3.4E, the pages don't have to be scrolled horizontally as in Web Pro V. The pages fit within the width of the screen. Gmail works fine and works for reply/composing too. The only problem with Xiino is that it uses a Palm proxy server located in Japan. Even though the host address is changable, it didn't work when I used the address used by Web Pro V (webpro.palm.com - which is a US based one). BTW, Handspring Blazer browser doesn't seem to work nowadays as Handspring seems to have removed its Palm proxy server and unfortunately, its host address can't be changed. The nerwer versions of Blazer (which could be having the new host address) requires Palm 5.x+
