  10. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

See: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/bright-side-of-sitting-in-traffic.html In short: small, anonymous bits of data are sent from your GPS enabled smartphone telling them your GPS coordinates. From those coordinates Google determines your location, direction of travel, and average speed. They combine that with data from other people on the same road and DOT sensors (if applicable) to come up with their real-time traffic maps. Since DOT (Department of Transportation) sensors are not available in India (even if there is they are not going to share with Google), the data may not be that accurate as in other countries like US.
  11. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Just updated to the official version and yes, navigation is working with voice! No more hassles with manual updates for the patched version. Google Maps for iOS doesn't have voice navigation working yet though. Some news articles mentioned it is working but it isn't mentioned in the official blog: http://googleindia.blogspot.in/2012/09/navigation-and-traffic-data-come-to.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  12. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Ok then, will remove the patched version I have. However voice navigation is still not enabled, right? It doesn't at least in the iOS version on iPad when I checked. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  13. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Did it start working in the same version released on August 29th? Was there no updated version released for enabling the navigation? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  14. Why wouldn't this topic be enough for that?
  15. If you are sure it is unlocked then BIS should work with any GSM operator
  16. The ban has been removed now
  17. Using Wifi

Is it a Wireless-N router? Wireless N (802.11n) routers contain two or three wifi radios specifically designed to extend the Wi-Fi range. e.g. Netgear WNR2000: http://www.netgear.com/home/products/wirelessrouters/work-and-play/WNR2000.aspx#two If it still doesn't cover your full house then you can use it as a wireless repeater to extend coverage. There are also wifi range extenders available from most brands like netgear, linksys, etc. when can connect to your existing router and act as a repeater. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  18. Using Wifi

I have already suggested one in the previous post and should be available everywhere. Any wireless router from the shop will be fine as you just need a basic setup.
  19. Using Wifi

Any wireless router will be compatible with ADSL providers like MTNL. e.g.: http://www.ebay.in/itm/NETGEAR-Wireless-N150-WGR-614-WiFi-Router-N-150-Wrnty-/180958253300?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item2a21f3d0f4#ht_2807wt_689 Just connect the cable from the ADSL modem to the wireless router. Configuration should be easy and you can get the details from the person who installs the modem for you. So be ready with the wireless router before they come. Yes, it will have LAN ports too so that you can connect using CAT5 cable if your PC does not have WiFi. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  20. I was able to get the plan changed on postpaid without having to wait for the next billing cycle. They cancelled the previous request and registered a new request for changing my existing plan to the new plan. I received the service request confirmation SMS after a couple of hours saying that it will be applicable from the next day itself:
  21. For those who are unable to get the region changed after multiple re-tries, you can try the following steps: * Enable Airplane mode * Go to Settings > Apps > All > "Google Play Store" or "Market" -> Clear Data * Open the app (see op) and set the custom value (make sure root permission is added) * Restart the phone * Go to Settings > Apps > All > "Google Play Store" or "Market" -> Clear Data * The custom value would have reset in the Market Enabler app, so change it again * Enable wifi * Sync Gmail * Open Market, should show the apps in rupees now. * Disable airplane mode I got it working on ICS 4.0.3 as well, so it should work but not a straight forward procedure.
  22. YouTube should not be used as a benchmark since YouTube uses CDN which will select the closest location having lowest latency and would deliver the content from there which would make it faster.
