  3. HTC EVO 4G LTE on Reliance CDMA

Thanks, I have updated the radio and the fimware which went fine. I see that the radio version is updated, but the firmware version shown in Settings > About > Software version is still showing 1.13.651.1 - I used the "Latest Firmware Without Recovery, Boot(kernel) or hBoot" one and use the PGxxx.zip method which completed without any error. Does it show the new version there for you?
  4. HTC EVO 4G LTE on Reliance CDMA

Great, can you post the link for the radio zip and the lastest firmware file you used?
  5. HTC EVO 4G LTE on Reliance CDMA

The deodexed OTA update will be safe from that though, right? I have done LazyPanda S-OFF with root. Can I use this method for the OTA update now?: http://htcevohacks.c...51-3-with-root/
  6. HTC EVO 4G LTE on Reliance CDMA

Ok, since lazy-panda s-off method requires root or at least temp-root stock ROM, can I use the zedomax one click tool to root it?
  7. HTC EVO 4G LTE on Reliance CDMA

ok, will do with S-OFF as I have the original SPC written down. Can you let me know which method you used?
  8. HTC EVO 4G LTE on Reliance CDMA

This method keeps S-ON, so is it safe to use that method to root after doing the OTA update withouth losing the PRL, MIN, etc.?
  9. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

Yeah, I mentioned that in post #48. A "Dome IMAX" does not have a flat screen. Instead it is dome shaped, in front of, on the sides, and top of the theatre. It allows one to be immersed into the movie. See the "IMAX Dome" structure here: http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/imax1.htm BIG Cinemas IMAX Wadala had "Dome IMAX" when it started as Adlabs but removed it few years ago to a normal 3D IMAX screen due to financial reasons.
  10. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

Watched The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX at BIG Cinemas, Mumbai today. Unusual for a Hollywood film to have a 2 hours 45 minutes length, but honestly, I wish it never ended! Even though it may not have the action as much as in "The Dark Knight" it still impressive nonetheless. The best part for me - <spoiler> the ending where the true legend fakes his death but his legacy continues</spolier>. If you are in or near Mumbai / Hyderabad make sure you watch it in IMAX. Sadly those are the only places in India for IMAX. while there are 200+ in China. Even though Hyderabad was nearer, I decided to go to Maximum City for no particular reason. The experience at Reliance BIG Cinemas in Wadala, Mumbai was great. It has a dome structure but it is not a "Dome IMAX" now. It was a "Dome IMAX" before but re-structured it to a "Normal IMAX" (Screen No.5) and they have 4 other normal (non-IMAX) screens in the same building. Get the Premium seat itself which will have the best view. It costs Rs.600 for Dark Knight Rises for now (Rs.500 normally). BTW I think I saw Boman Irani there during the interval. The best part of watching the movie here was the national anthem before the start of the movie where they played the on the huge screen and everyone including foreigners stood up for it.
  11. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

I'm filled with envy! Any Imax theaters at Chennai / Coimbatore? As far as I know there are only 2 IMAX theatres in India. Reliance BIG Cinemas in Wadala, Mumbai and Prasad in Hyderabad. The one in Ahmedabad is not showing new releases. The one near Delhi and Kolkata were closed down. A new IMAX is coming up at Bangalore.

  14. Sorry for the delay, I asked about the pricing at the dealer guy but did not get back to me until I met him at the showroom yesterday. He said the MRP for 42GT50 is 1.18L and the price they are selling for is 1L. I think the 50GT50 would be a better buy when you consider the price difference. I did check the upscaling options in PS3, but it always outputs in 720p itself when the game (like Uncharted) starts. I do not have an AVR to try. For Xbox all the games I have output with 1080p, so Pure Direct mode works well with Xbox. It seems most of the games available for Xbox support 1080p. Yes, NTFS HDD on USB is working fine when I checked. However note that Pure Direct mode and THX are not available when using USB playback. I do not see any option for loading external subtitle file. Checked with an MKV file and .srt file in the same folder but I do not see any option to load the sub-title during playback. off-topic @prankey: Noticed a malware infection notification on SoD website couple of days ago and I see the website is down now? Wassup Ok, I see now what happened BTW, I had the free rechargeable 3D glass (which was given by the dealer as gift) replaced with the new 2012 model as my friend (who also purchased the TV) realized that the one they have given was the 2011 model which isn't compatible (not RF which is used in 2012 TVs). The new one is sleeker like the included free 3D glasses. It claims to have 3 - 4 hours viewing time with a 30 minutes recharge (USB cable included) For those who buy this TV (with the THX modes) avoid using the THX modes if the content has logos or any static content or letter box. In THX modes the "Pixel Orbiter" feature is absent which is the technology that Panasonic uses to prevent Image Retention & Burn-in. The pixel orbiter subtly shifts static pictures to continuously keep the plasma screen's phosphors working. By never resting, there is little chance of burn-in. So in case you are viewing content that is not full screen in THX modes (especially THX bright room) make sure you run the inbuilt Scrolling Bar for some time. Burn-in will not happen in new plasma displays but image retention will still occur in Plasma displays. Generally the image retention is temporary and will disappear when you watch other content for some time or run the scrolling bar, but some times it can get sticky and will stay longer. The Star World HD logo and the AirTel logo seems to have got a bit sticky on my display after watching on THX Bright Mode for some time few weeks ago. It is visible only on a red back ground if you look at it very carefully: I think the image retention stickiness can be longer during the first 200 hours. So hope it won't be an issue afterwards. Panasonic India added the 2012 models last week in its website: http://www.panasonic...v/vieraplasmatv If you are buying this TV don't forget to buy a copy of Avatar blu ray which has THX to see the TV in its full glory!

  18. Press Trust Of India Mumbai, October 21, 2010 Vodafone Essar said it will spend around $ 500 million on its networks to roll out the third-generation (3G) services, which the country's second largest GSM operator hopes to do so commercially by the first quarter of next year. With a soft launch in Mumbai on Thursday, Vodafone has become the second private telco in the country to showcase 3G services after Reliance Communications did last month. The state-run BSNL and MTNL are already offering this premium service from early this year. "We will go for good coverage and will launch (3G) city by city in the first quarter of the next year. Because we are sure that we don't want to offer a patchy service. Our approach is to give our customers a world-class experience and hence we will launch when a significant part of the cities is covered by our 3G network," its managing director and chief executive Marten Pieters said. "We are taking time to launch here because we have learnt from our experience in Egypt and South Africa that a patchy offering will not work. Hence we are looking at investing $ 400-500 million to upgrade our networks," Pieters said, adding the company plans to complete rolling out 3G services in all its circles by the end of the first quarter of 2011. “Our approach is to give our customers a world-class experience and hence we will launch when a significant part of the cities is covered by our 3G network,'' said Mr. Pieters. “The introduction of 3G technology will be the catalyst for data revolution in India. Vodafone has been successful in delivering 3G services to many developed and emerging markets and we will be utilising our global expertise to offer an enhanced 3G experience to our customers in India,'' he said. Vodafone Essar was also talking to other operators such as Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular for arrangements to offer 3G services beyond the nine areas, Mr. Pieters said. Last week, the company had named Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson as its 3G equipment suppliers. Vodafone has 3G licences in nine circles (if Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles are taken together) of the 22 circles, including the four metros. The company had paid Rs 11,600 crore in licence fees to the government after the nearly two-month long spectrum auctions this May.
