  1. RIL plans broadband rollout plans with 'Operation Vijay' Monday, Oct 03, 2011 at 23:20 - MoneyControl.com Over a year after shocking everyone with a USD 3 billion purchase of a nationwide license to offer fourth generation wireless broadband in India, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries is putting in place the building blocks for a nationwide rollout that it hopes will surpass the voice services rollout of a decade ago, reports CNBC-TV18’s Ashwin Mohan. Less than a decade ago - Reliance uncorked ‘Operation Genie’ with a limited mobile voice service that priced calls at 40 paisa a minute. That service was launched by Mukesh and the late Pramod Mahajan. Anil Ambani was not present at the launch ceremony and the group was yet to split. Cut to now: The two brothers have called a cease fire and decided to compete in select businesses. That is the genesis of yet another Mukesh Ambani operation - this time named "Vijay" or victory. Although, it is yet to be formally unveiled, insiders suggest that the tent poles of the broadband network are being put in place. RIL spent USD 2.8 billion to buy a 95% stake in Infotel Broadband. It is now investing a near similar amount in the services rollout. While details on the technology architecture and related elements are yet to become public, insiders suggest that the service will be extremely "affordable" - even more than third-generation services that are available currently. Why? While the average cost of 3G spectrum acquired by mobile operators works out to 32 cents per person per Mhz, RIL acquired competing spectrum at nearly one-sixth of the price. That, along with RIL's famed project skills and financial muscle, should ensure that the service lives up to its proposed tagline: Easy to Access, Simple to Use, Available to Everyone. In effect, while all existing mobile operators are working towards a gradual increase in tariffs to improve margins, big daddy Mukesh may just end up spoiling the pool party. Will Anil Ambani be watching from the sidelines or will it be a family victory?

  3. Sprint Blackberry 8530 SPC Code?

    Who is the seller?
  4. um... whose signature did you see 4 - 5 mbps on EVDO? The best I got is around 2.7 mbps under a tower at night. The speed will vary a lot depending on the distance and interferences between tower and handset, and number of simultaneous users. The speed will vary for HSPA (3G GSM) also based on these factors as the speeds mentioned are theoretical maximum speeds.

  6. Internet Service Provider Name / Type: TATA Communications - Optic Fiber connection Plan you are on: Lightning 10 Mbps PLUS (FUP: 50 GB) Location: Trivandrum Comments: The problem I had previously with TATA Indicom (ADSL) is power issue as their device kept in our area goes down whenever there is a power cut. With the new setup for optic fiber connection that problem is gone and lower latency than ADSL!

  8. Bank alerts not affected by curbs on pesky calls, SMSs Times News Network | Sep 28, 2011, 01.06AM IST Banks have said that transactions alerts are unaffected by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's ban on bulk SMSs which came into effect from Tuesday. However, customers who registered with the national 'do not call' registry will not receive updates and information on special offers. Trai's orders bar service providers from sending unsolicited SMSs to users registered under the erstwhile National Do Not Call list, which has been renamed the National Consumer Preference Registry. It restricts marketers from sending promotional messages between 9 pm and 9am. Trai on Tuesday said it is also planning to impose five paise termination charge per SMS from October 15 on service providers on whose network commercial SMSs originate, to make it further difficult for those who broadcast millions of SMSs in a day. A spokesperson for Axis Bank said that the alerts that customers receive every time they transact on their credit cards or withdraw cash from an ATM would continue. However, general messages informing customers of deals would not be available if they are registered under 'do not disturb'. He, however, pointed out that there was a facility for even DND customers to receive SMSs specific to banking by opting for SMSs from that category. Banks, railways, and airlines have been allowed to send messages only as long as it pertains to a customer transaction. The regulator has also allowed registered educational institutions to send SMSs regarding students to their parents. Mobile phone users have been allowed to make their do not call instructions industry specific by opting to receive messages from one of nine industries, which include banking and finance, real estate, education, health, consumer goods and auto, television, IT and tourism.
  9. I usually get SMS alert from HDFC Bank for Credit Card transactions, but not receiving from today. I have done the partial DND subscription earlier by opting for Communication / IT category.

It is already there; logout of your account to see the option besides the login window. Since you already have an account there isn't a reason to use that though unless you want it as a new account or for someone else. If you have integrated Facebook/Twitter in your RIMweb.in account (integration options are in your Settings page), then you can use the Facebook/Twitter option to login directly to your RIMweb.in account which is what I think you are looking for?

You will see that message for topics that are waiting for approval (under moderation preview). You will see those links in the website home page only which uses the 3rd party script and does not have option to avoid unapproved topics. The new home page should help when it is ready as it won't show unapproved topics.
  17. weird I want to check that using your account, please check PM.
