  13. 4 Mar 2010, 0019 hrs IST Economic Times Tata Teleservices (TTSL) on Wednesday said it would compensate the CDMA subscribers if its services failed to meet the pre-determined levels of standards. The service will be available to Tata Indicom subscribers in 20 circles with immediate affect. The move, which was announced to commemorate the 171st birth anniversary of Tata Group Founder Sir Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, would help the sixth largest operator in the country to retain customers, force others to follow suit and may trigger a new phase of competition in the world’s fastest growing telecom market. The Charter, a first-of-its-kind endeavour in the Indian telecom industry, is aimed at ensuring that customer service emerges as a key differentiator for telecom operators, said TTSL, which offers services on GSM and CDMA technology and has 60 million subscribers. The operator has committed to pay a penalty of Rs 25 per day if a disputed bill is not resolved in three working days. It will also refund 2.5% of the total billed amount for the previous month if a Tata Indicom subscriber faces call drops for more than 1.5% of the calls made in a current month. According to parameters set by telecom regulator Trai, a mobile phone user must not experience call drop more than 2% of the total calls made in a month. These offers are a part of the five-point commitment made by the company, which also includes replacement of handset in case it cannot be repaired over the counter and trial usage for value-added services. Last year, Tata Teleservices broke the traditional per-minute billing regime to introduce per-second billing in its GSM platform and this triggered off a savage price war in the telecom space here even as this model was copied by all leading operators including Bharti Airtel. Tata Teleservices kicked off a price war in the Indian telecom market after launching a per-second billing system for its GSM customers in mid-2009, which fuelled its subscriber additions in a price-sensitive market. This led to Tata Teleservices overtaking Bharti Airtel for six consecutive months till January in monthly customer additions, With the operator’s new initiative, the other incumbent players are also expected to step up customer-centric services.

The skins that I am waiting for are "official" skins. They are actually 3rd party skins with "official" status called "community skins". As its official they will provide support for it since 3rd party skins can have a lot of compatibility issues. Profile page background/theme feature will be available in IP.Board 3.1 and it will look like this:
  16. Lets Ask Arun

I searched for "mobile-files.us" and its listing this topic which shows its working, right? If you are asking me why both doesn't show the same results then that's because IP.Board search queries the keyword against the database using mySQL full text search feature, while Google Search searches Google's cache using its own proprietary method and so the results vary. If both showed the same results then there wouldn't have been a need for both. mySQL full text search supports boolean search, so you should be using "mobile-files.us" (yes, with quotes since it is multiple words). I am able to see the topic that you referred in the first page itself in chronological order. Google Search has listed it on top based on its relevancy which is a Google Search feature.
  17. Lets Ask Arun

  24. DoT finally issues NIA; except for five circles, operators to fight it out for 3 slots of 3G spectrum Telecom Tiger | New Delhi | 25 Feb 2010 The DoT today issued the long-awaited notice inviting applications (NIA) from interested players keen on participating in the 3G spectrum and Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum auctions. According to the NIA issued by DoT, such players have time till March 19, 2010 to submit their applications. The publication of ownership details of applications will be done on March 23, 2010. The schedule of the auction process for 3G spectrum stretches till April 09, 2010 when the actual e-auctions will take place. The BWA spectrum auctions will be conducted 2 days from the close of the 3G auction. Most importantly according to the newly released NIA, the government has decided to auction slots as per their availability in each circle. The move results in five circles namely Punjab, Wes Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar and Jammu & Kashmir witnessing 3G spectrum auction of 4 slots of 5 MHz each. The other 17 circles will have 3 slots for auctioning. For BWA, the government has decided to restrict it to only 2.3 GHz band with each block of 20 MHz each. There will be two slots up for auctions. “Not more than one block of 3G spectrum and one block of BWA spectrum shall be allocated to any single bidder in a service area” says the DoT NIA. The government has also stated that spectrum for backhaul connectivity maybe provided. But the same will not be related to the auctions and operators will have to separately avail the backhaul spectrum. Successful bidders will be issued letters of Intent (LoI) by DoT. The successful bidders will be allowed to commercially rollout their 3G services only from September 01, 2010. In case the government goes on further auctioning of 3G spectrum, the reserve price will be same as the amount bid by the highest bidder in the upcoming auctions. While recent reports suggested that the government might allow part payment of bid amount, the actual NIA stipulates that the full payment will have to made within 10 days of completion of relevant auctions.
