Airtel Launches Unlimited Chat And Email Over Blackberry At Rs.99
Arun replied to savramesh's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
When I took the postpaid connection there was Rs.149/month voice plan and that was about 1 year ago. I'm sure there must be Rs.99/month voice plan now as other operators have it. -
Are you using HSD/EVDO or 1x?

@srk006: Yes, it was temporarily removed for the "RIM Addict" member group. I will enable it back soon.

Download Full Anti-Virus software for free
Arun replied to ::Hitesh::'s topic in General Technical Discussion
My Kaspersky license was expiring within 2 weeks, so the free 6 months license came at a good time for me! -
TechCrunch.com February 7, 2010 The website of Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest software vendor, has been hacked. The hacker has posted a "For Sale" message on the site for a brief time, which is written in both French and English. Ironically, the company produces security systems software. This hack will definitely lead to total embarrassment for the software firm who thrives on creating software and security systems day in and day out. The hack is believed to be a DNS hijack, which is similar to the breach that Twitter succumbed to last year.

Download Full Anti-Virus software for free
Arun replied to ::Hitesh::'s topic in General Technical Discussion
nice thank you! got the code! -
The Valentines day gift on ebay.in is valid only for eBay India purchases. There is no problem with PayPal if you are using it for purchasing against a "goods" invoice like through eBay. The problem is for direct payments using PayPal only.

for me its still showing same screenshot posted by Arun.. still showing as hacked.... shocking news for TCS. I see that you are accessing through a US gateway, not sure whether you are physically there or its your company's gateway. Many people in US did say that it was showing the hacked page for a longer time, which suggests that it could be a DNS hijack itself. Update:
-
Ebay payments using PayPal are not affected. Only direct payments using PayPal are affected.

I thought you already purchased HTC TP2?

Automatic Task Killer (Kills Application When Phone Screen Is Switched Off)
Arun replied to kshah's topic in Android
The general suggestion is to avoid task killers as it is not preferable due to the way Linux manages memory. Have you noticed applications like the Sense UI restarting often when using task killers? -
How are you managing google voice without third party application ? I Want to try it out on Mogul He is in US and so he can manage Google Voice directly
-
I don't know but it seems to be a bug with AirTel's system
-
If you tell them the specific plan code then they will activate it for anyone on postpaid. It was already discussed here:

Yes, heard of it once on either NDTV or CNBCTV18... http://www.tikona.in Available in few cities only for now

TelecomTV 21 December 2009 The Indian operator Reliance Communications is trying to sell its FLAG subsea fibre-optic network. It seems an odd decision given that the Fibre Link Around the Globe is the jewel in the Reliance crown and utterly central to its worldwide operations. Martyn Warwick reports even though Reliance Communications hasn't officially made any announcement. Reliance bought Flag in 2003 for US$207 million. A good buy at a good price. Since then, run by Reliance Globalcom, it has made an excellent and very profitable business carrying the telecoms traffic of other operators and service providers as well as selling capacity on the Flag network itself. Latest figures show that reliance Globalcom - that administers the Flag network - contributes 31 per cent of the company's revenues and provides 26 per cent of operating profit so Reliance must have a pressing reason to sell off the goose that lays the golden eggs. It has. Reliance is looking to raise some $3 billion in cash to help pay for the expansion of its GSM mobile service, currently lagging at a poor sixth (in terms of market share and subscribers) in India's booming mobile sector. Reliance also has some hefty debts and needs an injection of funds. Flag could well be flogged for a very healthy profit indeed but Reliance could live to regret the decision to sell - the network really is close to the corporate dream scenario of a guaranteed non-stop revenue stream that costs very little to administer. Reliance is also selling its network interests in the US with both AT&T and Verizon believed to be prospective purchasers. Sources say Deutsche Bank is handling the sale and that the deadline for bids is the end of January 2010. Meanwhile, according to new figures from the COAI, uptake of GSM services in the sub-continent continues to go from strength-to-strength. At the end of November this year India had 366.77 million GSM subscribers up up by more than 11 million in just one month. As at October 31, the number was 355.69 million. In terms of market leadership Bharti Airtel remains at the top with 31.63 per cent and 116 million customers. Vodafone Essar is second with a market share of 24.16 per cent and 85.82 million users. BSNL is third with a market share of 15.05 per cent and 55.18 million susbcribers. Idea Cellular, at Number Four, is snapping at BSNL's heels with a market share of 15.24 per cent and 55.9 million customers. At position 5 is Aircel with a market share of 8 per cent and 29.35 million customers. The afore mentioned Reliance Telecom is in sixth place with a market share of just 3.98 per cent and 14.6 million customers. MTNL has 1.23 per cent market share and 4.5 million users. Bottom of the pile is Loop Mobile with a national market share of just 0.71 per cent and 2.59 million customers. However, Loop operates only in Mumbai so comparing it with national players is pointless.

I had posted earlier regarding how Techie Enclave membership is organized now. You will definitely get an invitation as we review more members to be invited. Yes, please use use the Report button for them as it can be used for reporting ANYthing. Edit: Just in case you were wondering on how to report a member directly (not through a post), click the member name (open profile page) and on the top right there is a "Report Member" button.
-
Yes, any of them would be fine.
-
Not only Muffy, everyone including you is a moderator here. Please re-read the notes on Community Moderation that I posted earlier.

Even though many of the issues raised in this topic are different from what the topic OP's actual concern is, I think they do revolve around a common goal. So I am addressing each concern/suggestion discussed earlier in this topic: Buy/Sell forum Members with less than 10 posts will not be allowed to post new topics in the Buy/Sell forum hereafter. In order to...: ...prevent members from falling prey to sellers who are looking to take buyers for a ride... ...cut down on the increasing number of topics by sellers whose sole intention is to get some attention to what they are selling... ...cut down on members who are trying to "utilize" the forum for their own money-making venture... ... all Buy/Sell topics will be reviewed by a moderator irrespective of who posted the topic. The topic post and the member's post history will be analyzed during the review and will be approved/unapproved based on the decision of the moderator. The criteria used to decide it will be on a case-by-case basis depending on the post content/member. If you come across a Buy-Sell topic that you think is questionable, then please use the "Report" button. As suggested by a few members, a dedicated moderator is required for Buy-Sell forum and so I will be taking care of all the Buy-Sell forum topics/posts. Buy/Sell topics/posts in View New Content Some members have pointed out that Buy/Sell topics/posts should be avoided in View New Content as most members are not interested in reading buy/sell topics/posts everyday. IP.Board does not have an option for per user setting to avoid a particular forum in the View New Content results. However we are fortunate that a 3rd party extension exists which does exactly that and it has been installed in the forum now. You can see this new option in "My Settings" > Forums > Block Forums. You will be able to select here which forum(s) to be blocked in the View New Content results. This is how it looks like: Moderators Old moderators who aren't active now have been pruned so that the Moderators team page would look current. I have decided to invite all members as moderators instead of individual moderators thanks to the concept of "community moderation". The "Report Center" in IP.Board 3 was introduced towards encouraging all members to help moderate the community. A moderator may miss a post that needs attention, but thanks to the reporting feature any member can now report a post to a moderator easily thereby making it an effective mode of moderation. Some members are already using this feature which has helped a lot and I am thankful to them. So I request all members to help in moderating the community using the Report feature if they come across any inappropriate post or need changes to be done in a post/topic. For those who haven't noticed the Report button, it is located at the bottom left side of every post: All new members are already on forced moderation by default until they reach a certain number of posts, and that will continue. Sadikk I heard some concerns regarding Sadikk from some members even though they did not name him directly in this topic nor when they communicated with me regarding it. However they need to get their facts right as what they "thought" or "heard" or "assumed" were incorrect. Sadikk is also eager to contribute more in the future and get the "seller only" tag away when I discussed with him. hiteshkkk ...has been banned now. Techie Enclave As per the suggestion of few members, the Techie Enclave forum memberships have been revoked for all existing members who had access previously. A core group of techies have been added for now in the Techie Enclave forum as a start. New members will be added to the Techie Enclave forum based on invitation only. You will receive the invitation without requesting for it and that would be a recognition based on your technically oriented posts which you contribute to the community. So please do not request for the access, but you will definitely receive an invitation based on your contribution which will be like an incentive. This is the only way I can think of for directly addressing the core issue raised by kshah, even though the other steps done will also help. I consider kshah's concern as more of an open request to all members to contribute more technically oriented information. Policies or rules are not going to help but it is encouragement for those members that is required. If there are other suggestions on how to encourage more members to do that then please do share so that I can consider it.
