Was there a 3 month offer? The 2 months free offer was available for a very limited number of applicants who applied online before the launch. Yes wifi routers which supports EVDO cards are available, but it will be very costly.

Bsnl 3g Gsm Data Cards Launched ! 7.2 Mbps Speed

Maybe not everyone can afford to spend Rs.3000 per month for that? For the data limit plans, isn't Reliance NetConnect Broadband+ cheaper when you consider the data transfer limit? -
Reliance To Launch "change2broadband" Campaign For Existing 1x Customers
Arun posted a topic in Data services
The Hindu Business Line Friday, March 27, 2009 Anil Ambani-run Reliance Communications is targeting 15-20 per cent of its revenue from its data and value-added services verticals. According to company sources, RCom is giving a major push to its data business and expects it, along with the VAS business, to contribute 15-20 per cent of overall revenues. To achieve its revenue target, RCom is planning to target high-value customers of rival companies. The company is planning to launch a swap offer 'Change2Broadband' wherein data-card customers of competitors will be upgraded to Reliance's Netconnect Broadband Plus service, sources said. Under 'Change2Broadband', RCom will offer a Rs 3,600 annualised savings scheme to these churn customers. A potential high-value customer for RCom is one who is currently subscribing to tariff plans of over Rs 1,099. This could translate into a revenue contribution of over Rs 800 crore every quarter. RCom is also planning a similar swap offer to upgrade its own Reliance Netconnect customers to Netconnect Broadband Plus. RCom has tied up with Alcatel Lucent to establish its data network. -

I would suggest you to go for Netconnect Broadband+ since the price difference is not much when you consider the big difference you will get in the speed. Check: http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?s=&a...st&p=144430 -

Hyderabad, April 8 IANS 'LCU, (Lost? Need Directions? Call Us!), is now available to all phone users in India. Finding your destination is just a phone call away,' SatNav Technologies chief executive and founder managing director Amit Prasad said in a statement. The customer, who calls the call centre, is guided by an agent over phone or will get text messages with road names along with landmarks and distances. Users can avail this service by directly calling the customer care after purchasing prepaid voucher of Rs.100 with 15 minutes of talk time. The customer can call 1800-103-5656 from any telecom provider and he will be guided by a live trained agent. Prasad said the vouchers will be available at 300 retail stores in major cities or can be purchased from SatGuide website www.satguide.in. The customers of Reliance Communications across the country can also use the service by calling 56694404. Reliance will be charging Rs.6 per minute for this service. 'Reliance Communications is the first operators to provide this service. Following the successful completion of the pilot project in Andhra Pradesh, the service is being launched nation-wide,' said R. Swaminathan, Reliance Communications regional head (Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka). Prasad said SatNav was in talks with Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and BSNL and they were likely to roll out the service in three months. Initially, the service will be available from 6.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. The Hyderabad-based SatNav has spent $1 million to roll out the service by setting up a call centre in the city. The agents who provide directions are multi-lingual and can assist the customers in English and in Hindi. The application for LCU and the maps of over 200 cities and 1.5 million destination have been built in-house. SatNav has filed a patent for LCU, which is an integrated solution to the yellow pages and directory services. Prasad hoped that the service would simplify the GPS technology and help the common man, who cannot afford to buy GPS devices.

As you mentioned there's no jack in ZTE, Huawei is also clarified, then how will the same data card get converted to Voice/Data after 3G license ? I doubt it.. they are probably not even allowed to sell voice enabled devices ! Since there is no headphone jack in it, there is no way of using it for voice. I don't think they would go for 3G license for CDMA at all.
-
He was saying that he used it in "Bhiwani, Haryana" on CDMA 1x with roaming while he took the connection from Delhi
-
Probably to be used incase they get a 3G license for CDMA when its auctioned? I do not see it in ZTE modem, is it there in Huawei modem?

It is because of TRAI guidelines

Problems With Huawei Ec 168c Hsd Installation/working -
Arun replied to ACS's topic in Data services
1) I have ZTE modem but the dialer should have almost same thing as Huawei. I have Kaspersky on Vista and did not get any alert during installation. 2) I have seen that happen when the dialer loads automatically when you insert the data card. Close it and run the dialer shortcut which should show the saved username/password. 3) Not sure as I haven't seen something like that 4) It is a one time procedure which needs to be done after your CAF is uploaded. You will not hear any dial tone nor any other progress messages, but would get disconnected once it gets activated which may take 1 - 2 minutes. 5) Not sure as I have ZTE data card -
What is the error message shown?

465 kB/sec = around 3.6 mbps. BSNL EVDO is using Rev.0 which has a maximum download speed (technically) of 2.4 mbps only. So I am not sure how that was possible?

How to check usage on Reliance Netconnect broadband?
Arun replied to worldcom123's topic in Data services
Not possible as of now. They will not be able to send the activation SMS for online usage check ( http://www.rcom.co.in/RNetconnect/RNC/ecaremyusage.jsp ) as SMS is not allowed on Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus. They are trying to have the activation SMS to be sent by email instead. Once it is available you will be able to check usage online. -
Did you use the "Activate" button in the dialer to activate the connection first? It will take 1 - 2 minutes when trying to activate it and then try Connecting after entering username/password in Settings. If it still doesn't work it is likely that your CAF is not uploaded yet.

Correct @ACS: He asked like that since there are reports that roaming was not functioning for many HSD connections
