I saw that issue already and reported to Tapatalk developers as well. It is an issue with the latest version of Tapatalk for IP.Board. I'm waiting for them to release a fix/update for it.

I am in Australia now, that's why I ordered it here. If you have someone coming from Australia then order it through Play Store over Australia proxy. US price is also similar. UK price is higher though.

  7. Someone asked me about Torrent download speed which Asianet throttles for the slower DOCSIS 2.0 connection. The throttling/traffic shaping for torrent downloads applies for the new DOCSIS 3 connection as well even on a static IP connection. So if torrent downloads are important for you then you may have to look at other providers unless you use a seedbox or VPN to bypass the restriction.
  8. Ever since the modem was changed, the connection has been very stable. I don't know if it was the modem or whether they did something in the line to fix the stability issues. I am now able to keep the modem switched on for days without any issue. I have now taken a static IP for Rs.2000 and I don't have to login anymore and ICMP commands like ping, trace route, etc. are working now. I noticed a dip in speed after taking the static IP. Support fixed some routing issue and then the speed was back to normal. Their billing system is horrible that when there are plan changes, etc. it may have wrong charges. My last bill had around Rs.6000 worth of wrong charges (combo offer not applied, modem cost charged again). They will fix the bill after you contact them though, so just have to go through the bill carefully when you receive it.

For longer reviews in that topic it can be split into a separate topic. Once we have a few such review topics, a sub-forum for Gadget reviews can be added.
  11. Mail Today Bureau New Delhi, October 20, 2010 The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Tuesday said it will roll out a set of regulations this month to put an end to the menace of unsolicited commercial calls and messages faced by mobile phone users in India. "That job (framing regulations for unsolicited calls) is almost complete. We are planning to come up with the regulations before the end of this month," Trai chairman J. S. Sarma told reporters on the sidelines of the open house discussion on National Broadband Plan. Sarma also said it would come out with the 2G spectrum pricing norms by the end of this month. The regulator is also planning to come up with the recommendations on the National Broadband Plan by the end of this month. "Unsolicited commercial communications (UCC), National Broadband plan and issues relating to 2G- 3G are all important, and we are working very closely on these three issues. These are the three issues that are currently engaging the maximum attention of Trai," he said. Trai had in May this year released a consultation paper on 'Review of Telecom Unsolicited Commercial Communications Regulations' and had held a series of meetings with stakeholders and subscribers. So huge are the stakes involved in the bulk SMS business that telecom operators virtually sabotaged the open house called by Trai and hijacked the discussions, leaving no space for mobile phone users and others to put across their views. Trai had convened the open house after intense effort by consumers. Leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel with the least stake in the bulk SMS business had earlier announced exiting this pesky business thus, becoming the first operator to do so. But other operators like Tata Teleservices, Reliance Communications and Loop Mobile who have high stakes are not willing to give up. Unsolicited commercial calls and SMSes are among major issues of concern for telecom subscribers and have resulted in a large number of complaints. Mobile phone users complain that they keep getting pesky calls and SMSes while roaming in India and abroad, for which they end up paying huge bills. The bulk SMS business in India is worth over Rs 250 crore annually. The service operators sell bulk SMSes as packages for between Rs 2,000 and Rs 4,000 per lakh SMSes. Considering the growing dissatisfaction among consumers, there were suggestions of forming a 'Do Call Registry'. Sarma however, refused to comment on putting in place regulations for a 'Do Call' Registry (opt in). Many telecom operators fear that if the 'Do Call' Registry is replaced by the existing ' Do Not Call' Registry (opt out), it would eat away their revenues being generated from tele-marketers. An 'Opt In' system will allow telemarketing calls and messages only to those subscribers who register themselves for this facility, automatically treating all others as 'not to be disturbed' users. Trai had floated a consultation process on UCC in 2006 and based on these recommendations, the National Do Not Call (NDNC) Registry was established in 2007. Facts: * Bharti Airtel had earlier announced exiting this pesky business * Operators like Tata Tele, RCom & Loop Mobile are not ready to give up bulk SMS biz * Bulk SMS biz in India is worth over Rs 250 crore annually * Operators sell bulk SMSes as packages for between Rs 2K- 4K per lakh SMSes * Trai had floated a consultation process on unsolicited commercial communications in 2006 and the National Do Not Call ( NDNC) Registry was established in 2007 * Only 11 per cent ( 7 crore) of the 65 crore users in India are registered with the DNC registry

Chat suggestion was already discussed previously, it was decided not to add as it would decrease the participation in the forum and it will be spammers paradise as it can't be moderated. One of the main purpose of a forum is to archive the discussions in search engine indexed so that those who search (through search engine like Google) will find the discussion pages in the search results; that can't be achieved if you discuss through chat.

  14. HTC One Dual SIM CDMA + GSM 802D

Sad that it doesn't support SVDO... Obviously they gave more importance to GSM 3G than EVDO
  15. Just wanted to update that the new plans are available now and Asianet is advertising about the DOCSIS 3 service on its local channels now. After my modem was replaced I haven't seen any connection drops yet. Not sure it was fixed in the modem or in their line.
  16. would be great if you could get the key for $10 each
  17. For those who are deciding between HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4; here's my comparison report after a couple of months usage of both handsets. I have the Sprint CDMA version for both, of-course on Reliance CDMA now The best thing about the HTC One is its look and feel. With all Samsung Galaxy handsets looking similar, S4 will look like it belongs on a far more downmarket phone. HTC One on the other hand stands out from the rest of the crowd and gets more attention as it doesn't have the common look like a Galaxy or even an iPhone. When I was at the Burj Khalifa (Dubai) in early May, a foreigner there saw the HTC One in my hands and screamed "hey look... its the new HTC handset!" - I don't think he would have noticed if I was using a Galaxy S4. The replaceable battery option does get some points for Galaxy S4 though. Since I had used a Galaxy S3 before, the S4's rectangular boxy shape did not feel that comfortable as the S3's under body cover is more curvy and hence more comfortable. Anyway the S4 is more comfortable to hold than the HTC One for me as it feels to have more grip. The Ones power button is on the top left edge, and doesnt really extend from the phones surface at all. So if you are upgrading from a handset like S3, it will take some time to get used to it and especially the navigation buttons. Even though the screen size difference is only 0.3", I do feel it makes a good difference as the HTC One screen looks a bit more cramped when you look at it many days after using the S4. So a big advantage there for the S4 over HTC One. Feature-wise Samsung Galaxy S4 has load of cool features but in the 2 months of usage I had, the only time I used those "cool" features were when I was showing off the handset to someone or when they asked me about those features. Yes, they do work fine and not just gimmicks, its just not really going to be used all the time. Those "cool" features do take up battery life as well. Camera had mixed results for me. Some pics looked better on HTC One while some looked better on S4. The HTC Ones colors are more accurate in my opinion and more crisper. Overall, I would say the HTC One is better for low-lit conditions. Battery life feels more or less the same with both handsets. BlinkFeed on the HTC One was kind of weird for me in the beginning but eventually I started liking it. Make sure you filter the sources that you require to make it better. I still like TouchWiz navigation than HTC Sense, maybe that has something to do with the fact that I was used to it before with the S3. I have seen many reporting over-heating problem with the GSM Galaxy S4 but I haven't noticed any over-heating issue with the Galaxy S4 CDMA (mine is Sprint). The most disappointing aspect of both HTC One CDMA and Galaxy is that SVDO (Simultaneous Voice and EV-DO) has been removed which was present in Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC EVO 4G LTE. The reason behind it is that they added simultaneous voice support for LTE which is more popular now in US than EVDO. So the 3G (EVDO) data session will get cut off when you make or receive a call. EVDO works great on both handsets. I have run these tests on both handsets together at the same time... Galaxy S4: HTC One: I have heard some people say that EVDO is faster on HTC handsets but in my opinion it just varies. I have done EVDO speed tests on both handsets together at the same time during different time of the day/night and have seen varying results. However I do notice that HTC One had more reception signal strength as per the dBm ratings checked together at the same time: (the dBM value is in -ve, so the lesser (to 0) the better)
  18. Revised Buy-Sell Guideline Suggestions

That is the reason why new sell topic restriction is enabled from time to time when there are more sell topics in a time frame.
  19. You can add a DNS entry with the IP address for the login page URL in your PC's host file. For e.g. my login page URL is at mwcp-tvm-01.adlkerala.com (check in your browser's address bar) and its IP (check by pinging it) is 10.128.0.31 So I would add the DNS entry as: mwcp-tvm-01.adlkerala.com 10.128.0.31 (the IP will vary according to your login URL) Also add a DNS entry for : images.adlkerala.com 202.88.238.209 Now you can open the login page using the full URL with the port number, i.e.: https://mwcp-tvm-01.adlkerala.com:8001
  20. News Snippets

    Yeah, 3G (GSM) at Rs.123 for 1 GB, Rs.246 for 2 GB and Rs.492 for 4 GB
  21. Sure, I was going to take the pics anyway as I will be selling off both or one of them. Here you go... When stacked together, you can see that the S4 (bottom) is a little bit bigger in width due to the bigger screen size:
  22. You mean photographs of the handsets or the photos taken on the handsets?
