  1. Bypass Proxy Settings

Just noticed that only intranet is accessible... not possible in that case I guess. Is the proxy settings configured in your browser at their router?
  2. Lets Ask Arun

Yeah, there is a modification for that which will show in the left side profile with bigger icons. Have to wait until IP.Board 3 is released for installing modifications though.
  3. Lets Ask Arun

I had resized it using the gif which you sent you by email itself. This is how it looks:
  4. Who Is Among Us?

This feature has been removed since their service seems to be down at certain times of the day which is affecting page loading time.
  5. Lets Ask Arun

The icon has to be 16x16 pixels only. When I resized the image to 16x16 pixels, the text is not readable at all.
  6. Get Ur Own Mobile Identity For Free

It can be used for getting information which is stored by the owner of the keyword. When you send the SMS with the keyword to the number, it will send you a reply SMS with the information stored by the owner. A costly way to get a 160 character information at Rs.3 per SMS though. If they provide interactivity rather than information retrieval only then it will be more useful.
  7. Lets Ask Arun

0 posters cannot be deleted since there may be "lurkers" who read posts only. However it may be a good idea to remove members who has 0 posts AND not been active for more than 1 year.
  8. Lets Ask Arun

Yeah, telecom related news can be under "Indian Telecom Discussion" and other news can be under General Chat like the News Snippets topic that you have created. "View My Posts" link has to be coded and the coding is done now by a programmer. It will be added to the home page. "View Un-Answered Topics" is available as a modification for now, however I will have to wait until IP.Board 3 is released before installing it as the current modification version is compatible for IP.Board 2.x. I have also asked IP to add this feature in IP.Board 3 Please send me suitable icons (online & offline) for it that you have in mind to: arun [at] rimweb.com
  9. BIRTHDAY WISHES!

Happy birthday Honest, ipkonfig and others!!!
  10. Htc Victor Being Launched By Reliance Shortly

If you are looking to use EVDO when 3G is available after a few months then get it from Reliance itself as you won't be able to use it on a "cracked" handset.
  11. Can you recommend me any good (and cheap) load balancing routers available which can achieve that? Since I have a home-office, I would like to set up like that.
  12. @basant_jp: Use GetSPC program to get your SPC As you have bought the handset through Sadik, didn't he give you any instructions? PM him if you weren't.
  13. Lets Ask Arun

Yeah, since the seller will sell the item usually after getting money from the buyer, its the buyer who needs protection. However conditions like 100 posts and 6 months for the seller are too harsh in my opinion.
  14. Lets Ask Arun

Same, a "limit" will add a level of security for the buyers. I am not sure what the limit should be for now, but yes a limit can be applied and we have to decide on what the limit should be.

  16. wow, Skyfire defenitely rocks! Earlier I couldn't use it as it had authentication issues, but works now. BTW don't try to use it with Internet Banking portals since the traffic is routed through SkyFire's proxy server and so it may not be secure.
  17. I have finally moved to this ROM and I feel it be a LOT better than using a "cooked" ROM. Yes, it will take time to configure everything, but its well worth it. Thanks Dhiraj!!!
  18. I'm wondering the same... how can that message put raccoon in trouble?
  19. New Handsets Added In Profile Field

Added Palm Treo 800W. GSM handsets will have a seperate profile field soon, including for HTC Android G1 & Touch HD which have been removed from the list now.
  20. No, its not April Fool joke! CNET April 1, 2008 9:30 AM PDT Of the four major mobile operating systems (Palm, Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry), we hear plenty of complaints from users that Windows Mobile devices are the hardest to use because of the laborious navigation. And we certainly agree. Seriously, do you really need to go through several steps just to open or close an application? To be fair, Microsoft has heard the cries and made some headway in making its smartphones easier to use with Windows Mobile 6. But there's plenty of room for improvement, and the company is hoping its latest build will solve some of the problems. At CTIA 2008 on Tuesday, Microsoft announced the latest version of its mobile operating system, Windows Mobile 6.1. The update includes several new features designed to make the devices easier to manage and help users save time. Here's a rundown of what you can expect: New home screen To start, there's a new home screen that provides a more attractive interface but more importantly, quicker access to key information and applications. There are now a series of panels, which you can scroll through up and down, left or right, to view your missed calls, e-mails, and voicemails; check upcoming appointments; peruse your multimedia library; and access certain settings, such as the Task Manager. There's also a Getting Started wizard that will walk you through your e-mail setup, changing the background image, and setting up Bluetooth connections. For Bluetooth headsets, it will even bypass the whole passcode process (the system automatically enters the manufacturer's default passcodes--usually 0000 or 1234) and automatically connect to the headset. Once you've set everything up, you have the option of removing the Getting Started panel from your home screen. And though minor, the clock size has been increased--a feature Microsoft says its customers have been asking for. Internet Explorer Mobile Navigating Web sites are made easier thanks to a feature that allows you to pan in and out. Instead of mercilessly scrolling through an entire page just to get to one part of the site, you can pan out, find the spot you want, and then pan in. Microsoft also announced that it will bring Internet Explorer 6, which means Adobe Flash support, to its smartphones around the holiday season. Messaging and more As for messaging, Windows Mobile 6.1 offers just a couple--but key--improvements. First, there's support for threaded text messaging. And you can now select multiple e-mails at once. Other enhancements include richer Windows Live capabilities (check out CNET News.com's Elinor Mills's story for more) and System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 and Exchange Server 2007 SP1 support for better device management and security. So you're probably wondering, when can you get it? Windows Mobile 6.1 will be available sometime in Q2, and a number of manufacturers (HTC, Samsung Electronics, Motorola, Pantech) and carriers (AT&T, Sprint, Alltel) have already announced that they will offer the upgrade. A sample of supported smartphones include the Samsung BlackJack II, AT&T Tilt, Sprint Motorola Q9c, Sprint Mogul, and Alltel Touch. For the full rundown of devices and features, check out the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 web site.

  22. Reliance Gsm Service - Soft Launched!

A beta tester is someone who is allowed to test a service before it is commercially launched. The service provider expects the beta tester to give them feeback like any issues experienced, etc. and allows the service provider to monitor how the service performs during the testing period which may be prone to downtimes, etc. which the beta testers won't mind.
  23. Lets Ask Arun

mp4 files are generally bigger in size, hence please upload them in external servers like www.rapidshare.com or www.megaupload.com If it really has to be uploaded, please zip them using Winzip and attach them so that the size would be little more lesser.
  24. Reliance Gsm Service - Soft Launched!

coverage? plans? It is in testing phase only for now. You can expect full coverage and plans when it launches commercially.
