Now you are doing the right thing. By clicking on the "+" sign it will try to retrieve the directory list of the phone, if the connection is correct it will open the file system of the phone and you can see the directory structure and then you can upload files (if the folders are not hidden) Just check the right port is selected, the only problem you are facing is the incorrect port or may be the 5130 doesn't show any folders

I don't know how many times we should explain that bitpim will not detect the phone in the way you are trying to detect it (from the list and than selecting detect phone) It is very simple :- 1. Just connect the cable between your computer and the phone 2. Open bitpim 3. Open the File System 4. Expand the directory structure 5. Look out for the directories like ringer or wallpaper 6. If you found them just add new files to that respectively directories (by right clicking on the files window) I think that will be enough Regards Vishal

BitPim does not have 5340 in the list.I dont know how it works becuase in my case it did not.I tried various other number but this software does not detect 5340 at all. Don't try to detect the phone in bitpim, just open the file system of the phone in bitpim and it will show you the directory. From there you can go to /brew/shared/ringtone or /brew/shared/wallpaper to upload them CHOW happy tweaking Vishal

if u are using the USB cable just check that whether you have installed the usb cable driver else the usb port will not be detected and be sure to use the correct pc sync software for your phone, every phone has a different version of pc sync software If the installation of usb driver and software is correct there will be no problem, PC Sync is very simple to use Regards Vishal

I have LG RD 5340 and I have successfully uploaded about 30 ringtones & 24 wallpapers in it. You can upload ringtones and wallpapers in your mobile through BITPIM (if your allows that). I was also unable to find the data cable for my 6230. I heasrd from someone that the data cable of 5130 works with 6230, so I bought it and it is working perfect. So if you have any difficulty getting the cable for 6230, get the cable for 5130 which is easily available. I guarantee it works perfectly Vishal

yes the volume is quite slow, I usually use ringtone+vibrator otherwise you can't hear ringtone in crowdy place

Why do you worry about r-world for ringtones and wallpapers 5340 is a great set regarding ringtones and wallpapers. You can upload rtones and wallpapers through bitpim for free, then why to spend so much money downloading it from r-world. Just look into the forum for how to use bitpim Vishal

Sorry dear there is no solution to your problem, as I have faced the same. I also used to upload pictures and mp3 to my phone with LG desktop but after upgrading it to ver 17. I am facing th same prob. It is not a prob with lg desktop but with their ver 17 and when I asked them to put back my previous version, they said it is not possible to degrade the version only upgradation can be done Just wait for the newer version with this problem solved.
