PSM Player can just decrease the volume i.e 100-90-80 and so on the volume goes on decreasing but if you try to increase the volume i.e. 100-100-120 and so on there is no change in the volume. Has anybody faced this problem

first of all just tell me are u able to connect your phone with LG PC Sync ? I mean this will assure you that your cable is working fine. I am using 5130 serial cable for my 5340 and BitPim 0.8.08 as told you before. Which bitpim and cable are you using ? from your screen shot I cam to know that you are tring to connect from COM1, just check that whether your phone is on COM1 or COM2

yes you are right. ringtones which are downloaded from r-world have very low volume.

Hi Static, I have entered into the file system of 5340 through BitPim and also been able to upload Ringtones & Wallpapers in it. I just want to know that what else I could do ? I mean what more uploading or hacking can be done Waiting for your reply

hi first of all what do you mean by 'unable to backup my 5340' ? Is it that you are unable to connect lg sync software with your phone ? LG PCSync is too simple to use, no complications at all. Just check it out that u are using the right software for your phone i.e. get LG PC Sync for 5340 only Here is the link LG PC SYNC 5340 After installing it just check the port setting as shown in the screen shot given below Try it and tell me if there is any prob Chow

Can anyone tell how can one increase the volume of the mid files, as they are comparatively lower in volume then the default ones

Hello Kumar Shah, Don't try to detect phone from 'Edit/Detect Phone' as it will never do because bitpim is not made to detect these phones just go to the view menu of bitpim and select 'view filesystem' you will see a window in which you will see + / sign just click on the plus sign and it will take few seconds to expand the file structure of the phone file system (in my system it takes about 6-7 seconds). I am attaching a screen shot of my file system for your reference. As you can see in the screen shot there are two directories named 'ringers' and ' wallpapers' which are used for storing ringtones & wallpapers respectively I am using BitPim 0.8.08 and serial cable of 5130 (as I couldn't find a 5340 serial data cable) and for the phone book sync or back up I suggest you to use 'LG PC Sync for 5340' as it is much easier then bitpim and you can also sync phone book, schedule, todo & memo right now I am having 15 ringtones and 12 wallpapers installed through bitpim on my phone, I will install more of them as I will find some good ones Happy Tweaking

Now I don't care about 8888 or 8243 to download a ringtone or wallpaper. I have my bitpim working and now I can get these for free

no there is no firmware upgrade available for 5340 and also it doen't needs to have an upgrade. My opinion is to check with bitpim that where is that ringtone file kept in your phone's file system

Yes it is possible, I have done it. Instead of using 5130 I have used 5340, believe me they are almost the same, as I am using data cable for 5130 on my 5340 handset. just run bitpim and go to file system and expand it.

Why dont u donwload by 8888 ( Indiatimes ) or 8243 ( yahoo ) services.. I have tried to download from 8888 and 8243 but none of them worked WHAT THE HELL

Hi everyone, I don't know what problem occoured with you guys. When I saw the ringtone menu for the first time on my 5340 it was on 18th Mar as you all are saying. I have browsed the menu and downloaded the Hum Tum song, it sayed 'saved successfully' and after exiting the r-world. I easily found the hum tum ringtone at the last of the list i.e. even after the SMS ring tone 3. 5340 has 19 inbuilt tones and 3 sms ring tones that makes the list of 22 tones and the hum tum ringtone I have saved is on the position no. 23 After listening to u guys, I have today itself tried to download one more ringtone of rang de basanti, it also sayed 'saved succesfully' and now it is on position no. 24 and playing correctly thats all I can say Hope U people find a solution, try downloading it again

Hello Guys, Yesterday I successfully got into the file system of 2030 and uploaded wallpapers & ringtones into it, I am quite satisfied, but the worse thing in 2030 is that u can only have 3 user ringtones & 2 user wallpapers in it, u will find melody04.dat melody05.dat and melody06.dat in the meldl directory, only these 3 can be replaced with your new ringtones. You cannot add any ringtones such as melody03.dat or so on. Same as ringtones there are only two files in meldl directory for wallpapers i.e. icon01.dat & icon02.dat, same as above only these two can be used as wallpapers. Anyways I am quite satisfied with these limited options also as I don't have to pay anyone for getting wallpapers and ringtones. CHOW

Good News Fellows, You can now download ringtones on 5340, as r-world has the ringtone menu now. I discovered it on 18th. march and downloaded a couple of ringtones @10/= per ringtone, I also want to mention that previously I have downloaded wallpapers from r-greetings @ 3/=, So now I have downloaded both wallpaper and ringtonem, so now I am quite satisfied with the handset, earlier which I was not.

I want to know that which ringtone format is used in 5340 and how can I upload a ringtone to 5340

you can get wallpapers only from rworld/r-greetings @ 3/= per wallpaper. I have tried it on my 5340. works fine for me atleast. god knows how somepeople are saying that this is giving error to them chow :'(

get another software for RD 6000 from lgmobiles.com, these different phones uses different softwares

Hi Utsav, just seen your butterfly wallpaper on 5340, just wanted to know that have you done this with bitpim and a serial cable or something else. If with bitpim, please tell me which phone have you selected in the software Because when I tried to connect it with serial cable through bitpim it doesn't recognized it. Please HEEELPPP Vishal
