MNP: Last Nail In The Coffin For CDMA?
rahulmalik_81 replied to Arun's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
@Rajan i think you got it wrong. It's the other way here. Many customers are willing to pay for good services. I was using CDMA postpaid BIS plan of 1099 on RCDMA, but the company thought of defrauding me and i cancelled my number. I also ported out my TATA number coz they were not keen on offering my any kind of good handsets. In the nutshell CDMA is a good technology and personally i would love to have again a cdma number but i dont think it will be possible in near future. -

Hi everybody I am starting this topic to share my experience about upgrading BB 9650 with the latest OS 6 from verizon. 1 I used 6.0.0.431 downloaded from verizon or u can find on crackberry also. 2. This is important coz before upgrading to os 6 one has to upgrade the os to 5.0.0.1006 using upgrade option on the device. Its just a pre upgrade version for OS 6 3. After updating to 5.0.0.1006 I had to also update DM to version 6. 4. Backed up my data, wiped the device with BBSAK(for clean install) and loaded the os 6 with DM 5. It took about an hour to upgrade the device and restore the backup Now the good part I just loved the new os. It transformed my BB into a whole new device.Social feeds is great app and the new browser is just awesome.never saw a bb browser so fast.Ringtones in the new os are also louder than os 5 PS: There is a problem in browsing if you are on vodafone bis,but there is a workaround,if anybody need can post here.

TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali
rahulmalik_81 posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
The Economic Times 11 Oct, 2010, 11.12PM IST Tata Teleservices, which has Japanese telecom operator NTT Docomo as partner, today said it will launch the next generation mobile services (3G) on Diwali day next month in all the nine circles. TTSL had bagged 3G spectrum for nine circles in the auction held in May this year. The operator would be one of the first private secotor companies to offer 3G services. State-owned BSNL and MTNL already provide 3G services. The company had recently awarded the equipment contract to Nokia Siemens and Huawei to roll out 3G services. additional input from Medianama: Well, it looks like Tata Docomo will get a head-start above other private telecom operators, when it comes to 3G services in India. A Tata Teleservices Ltd spokesperson has confirmed to MediaNama that the company will be launching 3G services by Diwali (November 5th 2010). Hat Tip: @SachinKalbag. - Circles: 3G services will be launched simultaneously across all 9 circles that Tata Docomo has 3G spectrum for – Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. - Pricing: The spokesperson said that “the pricing is still being worked upon, but will be reasonable.” - Roaming Agreements: Roaming agreements with other telecom operators for 3G services have already been inked, and “The service quality will be world class, with the network being provided by Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei,” according to the spokesperson. He declined to comment on which telecom operators the company has tied up with for spectrum in Delhi and Mumbai. - Product Portfolio: Handsets, VAS, Bundling? The TTL spokesperson declined to comment on specifics, saying that “a fair amount of agreements have already been inked in the market. We’re talking to handset providers, our partners Docomo, VAS providers for rolling out services together.” But will the focus be on USB data card services, or mobile VAS? The spokesperson said that the product portfolio will evolve, but it’s not going to be a question of data, voice OR VAS, but all of them. -
I ported My tata indicom number to airtel. Applied on 7-mar-11. got a call from Tata on 4th day "why u want to port your number" i told them lack of good handsets is only the main reason. Number is fully working with airtel since 15-mar-11. i even got 3g activated the same day. Thanx DOT for giving cutomer the right to choose.

Its hard to say, some may even laugh but ive decided to downgrade from os6 to os5. Reason, lately my phone is a bit laggy and battery backup has just become horrible. tried everything like battery pull but it works ok for few days but after that its just hell. Vodafone browser issue is also there, there is a workaround but it also sticks for few hours
-
Then i think u should call CC and ask them to register your device. Just for info purpose which os version do you have loaded.
-
These settings are ok. if u see "edge" in small then try to activate BIS. I had a prepaid vodafone number, so activated 3 days BIS pack ,it took about 4 hours to get activated but after 4 hour got BIS with "EDGE" in CAPS.
-
i too had faced the same issue. The solution is that if u activate BIS plan on your number then after activation it gets registered automatically. If this does not work then check your mep2
