This notification service is only for freedom plan users. All other users will see 0mb. Freedom plan users should be able to see their transfers. But I am not sure, also since its a new thing, it may take time to update and display proper data transfer figures. Lets hope this works. If it does, I may go in for their freedom plan coz now atleast we can keep a check on the transfer

Hi guys, reliance has finally introduced a data transfer notification on its website. So for all you freedom, freedom plus plan surfers, you can logon to 'mybill' section of Relianceinfo.com website, wherein you'll also get the data transfer details alongwith other billing info. But Iam not sure about the updation rate - whether its realtime/daily/whatever I guess this will help us poor souls keep a check on our usage!

Hi all, am back after a long time... and completely shocked and angry Members like Saurav and others, who at one time used to ask queries / help etc from me have today termed me as "Representative of GTRAN" . EEPROM says I am "Passive aggressive" Well @ Saurav, If u understand even the basics of marketing and business management, then you would had understood that a company (GTRAN) which doesnt have a manufacturing setup in India, nor does it have any permanent Regional Head office in India for Marketing and Distribution, and a company which had a one time deal with Reliance for mass sale of handsets for exclusive use on reliance network would never invest money in setting up its own distribution channel in such a country where its interests were restricted to a mass, one time deal with a single Telecom Operator. Such a company would never setup a distribution channel by investing lakhs of rupees and never hire agents / middlemen as channel partners for marketing / distribution management. simply speaking, if u dint understand all the jargon above, then have u ever heard of agents for GTRAN ? try contacting all the links / email addresses / phone nos / physical addresses of GTRAN India that you have and try to enqure whether they had ever hired agents for marketing GTRAN handsets. Forget direct selling, the company didnt even care to invest in other forms of marketing communications like Advertising / sales promotions or relationship marketing. And before you blame anyone and start flaming posts, do a self evalution first. Did u have enough prudence and common sense to go through all my posts. My first post - GTRAN review speaks highly of the phone because that was the day i had bought the phone and was really happy with (and I still am in many ways) many of its features like complete customisation of the phone. However, If you had cared to read my other posts you would find the problems of Gtran which i encountered and was the first to post - including the low battery life, buggy performance during use of travel charger etc. And @ EEPROM, man i think you are a real genius if by reading a few web posts of a person, you can term him/her as to being "passive-aggressive". Well what are u doing here on RIMWEB, i think you would be better off adding a lot of value working as a Psychi Constultant by self imposing your judgements about others on them rather than being of nuisance value here on RIMWEB. For above members and like minded people, I was offered moderation status by super mods and I wasnt the one to ask for it. Infact i took my time before accepting it. Guys am really pissed off with the sick attitude some of you have here on this board. But i guess you cant help it coz its a part of ur gene and passed on from your earlier generations. Anyways Vishal Gupta and Code, thanks for understanding the situation and not being sick minded like some others on this board. .For genuine members on this board, I am a business management student from Mumbai, Specializing in Advertising (Marketing). I bought this phone during summers when i was doing my summer training at FCB ULKA - one of the top advertising agencies in India. Used to post my reviews and views during spare times after summer project completion. But after summer training ended, i got back to full time college and exams, also being in third semester, Executive Placement program at our college was on cards and is now being initiated as well in matter of weeks. Due to all this, and also with the satisfaction that i had created a healthy forum of GTRAN members on this board, I started reducing my activity levels here. I used to visit the board sometimes but mostly as a guest. And today when i checked this post, i was really shocked. Hence the login and this post of mine...... I really dont have the time and specially now the interest to moderate this subforum. So am going to pm the super mods to transfer it to some other gtran member. For friends and genuine members, wish you all good luck for future endeavours and goodbye . For others, you all are more than free to continue to the flame wars against me but wont be getting any replies as this is probably my last post here.

Hi friends, I had read some where that there's a GTRAN Service Centre in Delhi. I request the poster to repost that info here in this thread. I have enquired from RWW about the GTRAN service centre in Mumbai Here are the details : UCOM Tech. Pvt. Ltd. 1st floor, H. Kantilal Compound, Opp. Copper Chimney Restaurant, Andheri Kurla rd., Sakinaka, Andheri E, Mumbai - 400072 Phone : 56781539, 38087920 Contact : Umesh Mahajan Email : mumbaigtran@accordccs.com Guy please try finding n then add the GTRAN service centres in your city in this thread. It will be usefull to fellow GTRAN owners.

To give u all some good news, the ringtone section of RWORLD for GTRAN has already been made functional ! You gotta delete few tones / keep 1 or more tone slots empty before downloading the ringtone from R WORLD ... this is so because it supports downloading in a free slot but doesnt support replacing an existing tone.

I think few pieces of GTRAN are available at RWW in Borivali West (mumbai) As far as the support goes I talked to the guys at RWW and he was absolutely positive about it. Also there are GTRAN auth. service centres in major cities. So just chill and relax dude
-
Hey saurav, am not sure about the Insurance thing... but this is to correct you and for information of all GTRAN handset owners : Gtran does have official service centres in Delhi and now one in Mumbai as well. I visited RWW and got the details about the Mumbai Service Centre for GTRAN. Am starting a new thread for service centres of GTRAN. All of you can get the details there.

There's a small mobile phone accessories shop in Borivali (Mumbai). The address is : In front of Archies shop, Adjacent -'City of Joy' (Fast food joint) Borivali West, Mumbai This guy has his own manufacturing setup for third party reliance (LG & Samsung) Handsfree (Regular and radio ones) , Body covers ( avl in various colours), Batteries and plastic rain covers for Reliance phone
-
raccoon, my previous phone LG 2030 had duplicate body covers bought from a mobile phone accessory shop in mumbai. I paid around 200 for that and was available in different colours including the original white+silver and a host of other colours. I found the quality to be near perfect and nobody could make out if it was non-original cover. Karpar i suggest u go in for such OEM covers instead of paying 350 to reliance just for the plastic portion
-
probably we can try and add some java/brew applications and games to the phone coz thats the only thing which cannot be customized using the cable and gtran sync s/w
-
lol@saurav ... now ur speaking my language (check my signature) ... I had the same craze when i bought this phone brand new ... The craze has now subdued .. but no doubt GTRAN absolutely ROCKS !!!! Well personally speaking, i havent checked the lg 5130 model .. but its looks (images on relianceinfo.com) are quite gaudy and far from being sophisticated. As far as the features and functionality go, some lg 5130 user will have to enlighten us on that.

Tips On Improving Battery Life Of Gtran
gtran_rocks replied to ananthshenoy's topic in Other handsets
Even i dont get fully charged msg when charging while keeping the phone on .... However if i switch the phone off and charge it, i get that msg in 4 hours or so. -
Pal dont play around with ur hardware ... Flashing your bios - if not done properly, you can screw up you bios chip and system wont boot up at all. I suggest try installing a different OS , probably ME and then see if it works for u

Saurav, I was one of the first guys on this board to exchange handset under anniversary scheme, however I got the next bill right on time (I upgraded in june and got the bill for june on 12th July) If you havent got the bill yet then contact RWW soon.
-
karpar, your post is unrrelated to the thread. The thread speaks of advantage of US GTRAN battery while u posted about gtran camera. So i've deleted your post. Please post in the correct threads from next time. (BTW here's your reply GTRAN is a customisable phone. Even if you dont add a cam to it, you can download 65 k resolution pics from your comp/ net / rworld onto it. There's also an animation feature in the phone with which you can add animation to "Idle" State, "Calling" State, "Call received" State etc... besides RWORLD surfing with colour is a gr8 experience. Ask gtran users about the advantages of colour phone.... Yes cam is an added advangtage but GTRAN's cam is useless hence i dont recommend getting the phone with the cam)

tanveer it takes around 4 hours on travel charger to completely charge my gtran phone
-
Saurav, that software is called PSM player. It is a midi file editor cum volume increase utility. I am posting the link for the latest version of the software: PSM PLAYER 4.5 Hope this helps
-
Tanveer, as far as I understand the probability of this being a network problem is quite high. However in a rare case it could be a handset prob as well .... We've also seen some GTRAN member in this forum complain about his network quality and we saw that it was with his specific handset. So i suggest you discuss this with RWORLD / Service centre guys. Enabling Line#2 option only blocks outgoing calls. You continue to recieve incoming calls without any problem. So that is not the cause of the problem.
-
Ya pal i hope too ... BTW now since the phone is more than 2 months old for me, the usage has reduced a lot (especially the RWORLD, GAMING and related use) and the phone works 1 to 1.5 days without a recharge. However a more efficient battery would definitely be a big positive
-
Tanveer, do you have access to GTRAN US BAttery ? well if you can lay your hands on one and try it on our Indian GTRAN i think it would be gr8 I am not sure if it would help but there's nothing to loose in trying as well
-
Guys wanted to know whether you all can see and play the recently introduced game - ROBSCAPE in the R WORLD. I had accessed it through LG 2030 few weeks ago but I cant see it in R WORLD on my new GTRAN handset now. Has the game been removed from RWORLD
-
Is converting to GTRAN still a viable option?
gtran_rocks replied to webmaster1963's topic in Other handsets
hey webmaster, as far as the slowdown in posting in this forum goes, I guess the initial hype and craze surrounding the new handset has subdued. After using this phone for weeks we have discovered the phone's share of problems too alongwith its gr8 features. Go through the various posts in different threads of this forum to find the +ves and -ves of the handset. To bring to your notice, I've heard that the Reliance's stock of GTRAN has almost finished and its not available any more. Atleast in most RWW in mumbai, this handset is no more available till stocks are replenished. -
Saurav its a problem with the RWORLD server. See when RWORLD applications are programmed, they are done seperately for different handsets like LG, Samsung, GTRAN ... colour and b/w etc.. Now the prob is GTRAN is relatively new handset and some of the links in RWORLD programmed for Gtran dont work and arent verfied by the RWORLD programmers at Reliance for weeks. When i bought this phone, i could use mms, download ringtones from rworld and all worked... but after few weeks this issue cropped up. This problem will continue till some gtran owner brings this problem to the notice of Reliance authorities (RWW guys or customer support) and they fix it.

Ok, i just found a bug in the software of GTRAN: Ring type is set to vibrate+ring Ringer volume: max when somebody calls me , the phone vibrates thrice and then rings loudly @ max volume - All is ok But if i plugin travel charger in the phone and charge the phone while it is still on : Ring type is set to vibrate+ring Ringer volume: max when somebody calls me, phone doesnt vibrate, directly starts ringing at very low volume However, If the charger used is the desktop charger, then it vibrates and rings at max volume as well. So the bug is only with the travel charger. I hope this will be fixed by a software upgrade in near future ,
