Guys i bought the Nokia N95 and have moved to Airlte...i agree that Reliace is really good for data speeds and tarriffs are still attractive....but trust me i realised that we reliance users have actually been living in ous own shells. S60 phones really rock and i would recomment N95 to anyone who can afford it....rightly said its not one thing...its many. Moreover nokia is lauching an upgraded version with more RAm and 8Gb of internal memory in the US so its likely that the prices of the existing N95 will fall soon.

I have the phone..... bought it from Tata hub..... doesn't work with the Reliance UIM Do tell if there's a way to make it work. By the way I don't think its worth buying anyway, i bought it because i'm not allowed to carry a data/ bluetooth/ camera enabled phone my workplace. There are better options available for almost the same price...... it only looks different. Moreover i'm totally disappointed with the reception.... its quite bad as compared to Nokia sets. Also the GUI is bad.... its made for illiterate people i guess. Final word.... don't buy the phone unless u have a compulsion like mine or just want buy it for its looks.

I got a F3c recently from Tata...works fine with Tata SIM but seems to be locked as it doesn't work with R UIM........ i wanted to use it as replacement for my 6265 as my worplace doesn't allow phone with camera, bluetooth or internet connectivity..... Its a pity!!!

going to buy the phone tomorrow...will compare it my 6265 and post the findings in a day or two

They had made the same kind of mistake with the 6265 also initially and rectified it after sometime. Its really dumb because i was searching for the phone on the site under the video phone cat when i was told its launched...never occured to me that they can be so dumb.

A consumer court has fined airtel alongwith American Express and ICICI bank for not stopping unsolicited calls and SMSs so customers....i've written to the customer care to wake up and work on the don't disturb feature because inspite of me registering and telling the customer care.....the calls and sms don't stop.

u must be joking? i use to get 20KBPS speed with few tweaks and genuine datacable No i'm not joking...why would i? this was in the years 2003-04 and i too had the original data cable..... maybe the network was slow at that time but i don't think that it was the case because when i changed to 7230 i immediately got better speed. By the way coolboyashok, it would be a good option to go for 6265 with your budget...although you might have to put in an extra grand or so. Its a good phone with features foung in most GSM phone..... you can go thru the thread on that handset and decide.

Guys i found the reason for you only being able to use the phone as a removable device and not with the PC Suite. Actually i was earlier using BT... started using the USB cable only a few days ago. Anyway the moment you connect the phone to the computer using the data cable you'll get an option on the phone screen to use the phone as a data device....if you click ok then you can only use it a removable device..... if you want to use PC suite then click exit (the right soft key) and PC suite connects

I'm not sure if the data transfer speeds of all the handsets is the same..... when i had LG 2030 it never used to go beyond 5-6 KBPS (kilobytes per second) then with a change to the LG RD 7230 i got speeds upto 14-15 KBPS but now with 6265 i regularly get about 16 KBPS. moreover i stay in an area with low network reception.... nokia gets better reception here as compared to my earlier phone that also might be an issue if a person stays in a low signal area.

Whats the amount you are willing to spend?

Do you need to connect it using BT or the data cable? Shumi had given a very good description of using 6265 as a BT modem in the thread "All about 6265" just go to thread and search for Bluetooth Modem in the search thread option and you'll get the steps.

I don't have a 6225 but recently configured the internet connection on the phone for someone i know..... firstly don't try using PC suite to connect to the internet using a CDMA handset( it doesn't work for any sets that i know and worse it spoils the already configured modem setup also). Second, no need to use R connect software from reliance.... download the cable driver directly from the nokia site. Install the drivers first and then connect the phone to the computer using the cable..... it should get recognized (i don't remeber but i think it configures a serial port and then identifies the phone). If the CDMA modem is not recognized automatically then you need to go to the control panel and configure the modem. After the modem is setup you have to configure the internet connection manually.... with the dial no being #777 and the both the username and the password being your MDN no. Do remeber to add the extra initialisation command at+crm=1;+cso=33 under the advanced tab in the modem properties. It should work now..... Coming to the problems which you migh face... 1. You'll never be able to connect with the PC suite running.. i don't know why it happens..maybe they both use the same COM ports. so diable PC suite from the system startup and use only when required. 2. Try to use the same USB port always for connecting the phone... i noticed that the computer has a habit of recognising the phone as a GSM modem.....(don't know why) but this problem doesn't occur if you use the same port on which you configured the CDMA modem. Try this and lets hope it works for you.

Checked the Version of PC Suite it is the newest Version 6.82.22.0 Any other thoughts . I'm no software expert.... i just faced the problem and it got solved by hit and trial. If your PC suite is the latest version maybe you should try deleting all the songs ripped using it.... then un install and re install the PC suite. re rip the songs and maybe it'll work. Anyone having a better and confirmed solution to this problem, please share it with us!! One more thing i want to ask the guys out there...i recently read on the net that nokia has released 6288 on the GSM network with a minot firmware upgrade which gives it A2DP support as compared to the 6280. Can we also expect the same for this phone with a future firmware upgrade..... and how often does nokia do it? (release of firmware upgrades) i know LG does it quite regularly coz i always used to get my 7230 upgraded from the service centre.

Registering with "Don't Disturb" at the web site is not completely effective. I had registered for the service about 4-5 months back and most of the messages stopped but i've been roaming out of home network now and it seems they have started sending the SMSs again. Although the no i get is much less then others who haven't registered for the service.

Luckily i haven't got any such promotions where they offer free previews of various songs/ringtones etc. I'm using 6265...but my wife uses LG handset and she regularly gets the sms....its a good thing that has been brought to notice that network usage might apply although the message says free preview.
