I think you simply forgot about the SE walkman series in GSM as music player phones.... In CDMA i think currently 6265 offers the best choice but i'm still trying to find a good adapter to attach 3.5 mm headphones without loss of sound quality.
-
I had faced the same problem.... i think its an issue with some versions of the PC suite. Try upgrading to the new version and it will be resolved

It feels nice to be selected.... thanks a lot!

I want to know if anyone has used the nokia audio adapter AD 15 with this phone to listen to music on standard headphones. How's the audio output? There are other audio adapters like AD-41/46/49 also available from nokia, do they also work with the phone? Where can these be purchased for a low price? Guys i went searching and found an audio adapter for Rs 60/-, the thing i noticed is that the phone doesn't have a very high volume output even with good headphones...... so the sound quality doesn't improve much.

I had a similar problem when i updated the nokia PC suite from 6.6 to 6.7, it never used to detect the phone on bluetooth. The way around the problem is to udate PC suite to 6.8...... the phone seems to be working fine with this version. Another way is to open the synchronize tab in pc suite and then go to phone selector..... there if you run a search the phone shows up and then the PC suite suddenly gets connected. A friend of mine had the same problem with his N80 and the PC suite...got resolved on updating the PC suite version.

Mine has the same problem from day one......i guess this is normal thing in this phone.....
-
You are correct... i faced the same problem when i upgraded the pc suite from 6.80 to 6.81. i just uninstalled the software and di a clean install and re ripped all the music into AAc format again and the problem disappeared. now its working fine. i don't know what was the reason behind it....i thought i must have been a one time problem but it seems there's something wrong with the software.

I was wondering that since R Surf allows access to some sites like yahoo, google, etc. they should not be the so called off net sites. They should also be accessible from 6265. i tried all possible adresses but same error 503. Can somone find out the URLs of these permitted sites....atleast the WAP browser will have some functionality. Otherwise by upgrading to this phone we've even lost the use of R surf>

I've never used an AMD processor...but i feel they are better for enthusiasts and people who really know their hardware well. Intel scores in the general category because they come out with integrated solutions (ie processors and motherboards) Anyway i currently own a HP pavilion dv 8200 series notebook with a centrino duo processor and i must say its much faster as compared to my desktop which has a P4. You can expect even better performance with the core 2 duo processors. The ferrari series which acer markets in india are generations old now!! They've already lauched better confuigurations in the west. Its one of the best notebooks to flaunt but currently dell and hp offer better configurations at much cheaper rates. Check out the inspiron 6400 and 9400 with core 2 duo processors!!

I had raised the same point some time back. I'm not sure but i think that a service provider cannot discontinue a service without giving prior notice to the customers (as per TRAI rules). Now Reliance had initially allowed WAP and then they discontinued it without giving notice. Many of us had actually bought the phone after reading so much about the ability to surf then net etc. I really think reliance has broken some rules. Somebody with a better knowledge of TRAI rules can enlighten us. We really should fight this decision of theirs.

If the theme doesn't specify aringtone, the phone automatically selects the default ringtone. The same is true for icons and other items which can be customised by a theme. The solution is to edit the theme using the theme studio and then use it.

The PC suite is a very usefull application if someone happens to use the synchronise feature...it will help you synchronise contacts, things to do, and calender items with MS outlook, outlook express or lotus organiser. I use it extensively and find it usefull. Anyway the built in feature of automatically transferring newly clicked photos, converting and transferring music into AAC or MP4 files and a basic multimedia player and 3gp converter make it a usefull thing to have. I agree that there is no dire need of having it but if you get used to it then its diffcult to imagine not having it at all.
-
I also had the same problem after i upgraded my pc suite software..... still looking for a solution. in the meantime i've found a backdoor. Go to the synchronise option under pc suite and then click on select phone..... then click on refresh in this window and u'll find your phone shown there. once you select your phone there, the pc suite will connect. i don't know why pc suite has stopped recognising the phone directly. earlier mine was working just fine. i'm looking for a solution...will post it when i find one

My problem has been resolved after reverting back to the old version of the pc suite. By the way try compressing the music files into the MP4 (M4A or eAAC+) format....it compresses the files more efficiently abd luckily the phone ssupports it.
-
hi Guys.. This relates to the use of PC suite with the phone. I was using pc suite version 6.8 till a few days back but was facing a strange problem...while transferring images from the phone the pc suite was not able to recognize the images already transferred during previous transfer process and each time used to create more and more copies of images already transferred from phone to the pc in the my pictures folder. I updated to the latest version i.e. 6.81 and the problem got solved but now when i use the music manager and convert the music files into AAC or eAAC+ format and transfer the files onto the phone, the music player displays the files and some chinese looking script. the routine mp3 tracks are displayed correctly. I trying to get around this problem....does anyone have a clue? Also what audio convertor is available apart from pc suite to convert music files into AAC or eAAC+ format?

So guys i don't think its going to be a long wait before they start the service...if at all they plan to do it. I still feel that we should all start threatening them with legal action through consumer court because they discontinued a service without any notice. If you notice even their site gives an indication that you can surf the web on the 6265. I'm sending them a threatennig mail now.....anyone knows the exact TRI ruling on discontinuation of service without notice to consumers?? please enlighten us. I went looking around for a mini SD card for my phone in Bangalore this weekend. I went around a few shops including the big authorised Nokia dealers.... i found the Kingston card to be the best bet. the original one with bill and warranty (1GB) was available for about 3K. None of the original NCP cards worked on the phone ( i tried from 128MB to 1GB) found a shop selling YES cards too....it was a 512 MB card and woked fine. Kingston 2GB card was also supperted but it tok a bit long to open the gallery and extras with that card on board. I've finally purchased a fake Kingston card for 1400. it seems to be working fine...
-
Are you serious??? I think the improvements outweigh any of the "so called short comings" mentioned by you!!! How much are you going to sell it for BTW?
-
This has been discussed in detail on the forum all about nokia 6265!!! Reliance has disabled WAP access to non reliance sites....we all are waiting, you join the gang!!
-
There definitely exists a problem regarding compatibility of mini SD cards with this phone. Yesterday i tried out the shops in Vijayawada and found that none of the NCP cards were recognised by the phone ( the fake ones were recognised) The phone recognised Yes and Kingston cards. I was unable to find a 2 GB card here so can't comment on that. Somebody who's using a 2 GB card can throw some light on this please. I'm going to Bangalore this weekend and intend to check the compatibility of all the brands available and then i'll post an update on this issue.

The forum quoted above says that sandisk 2GB cards are also compatible...has anyone tried them?

I had a similar problem when i went looking for data card for my 6265.... even read the post you metioned but since i tried the card and it didn't work... i haven't bothered about it much. although after the incident i decided to buy the card only after trying it on the phone..... will do it next time i go to town.... maybe around the middle of next week. will let you know which ones work. BTW i had tried a NCP card...it didn't work i thought its a fake...although the dealer showed it to me on his phone and was working... other people are using NCP cards and they work fine...maybe its an issue with some handsets ony
