Hi guys, isn't there an order by TRAI that a ervice provider cannot withdraw a service without giving prior notice to its customers? When reliance discontinued the WAP access to non reliance sites.... haven't they flouted that order? Is there a way we can take it up with some regulatory authority....atleast they should not get away with it...just lying to us all the time!!!! someone......law qualified on this forum???
-
You are right....they are liars. But we r still stuck with them because if the cheap rates and good internet access thru mobile. WAP would be coming but i know they'l charge us for it for sure!!
-
I called up the customer care today and they r till maintaining that the upgadation process is on and the access to non reliance sites will be made available soon and that it will be intimated to us by sms. Lets wait!!!

I have transferred a full movie to my Mini sd card in my Nokia 6265 handset which is almost of 70MB and I didnt have any problems. Its in a 3gp format only. If you are transferring to the Phone memory then it would depend on the Memory available on the handset. Also there maybe some problem in the format settings. There is no maximum size limit in the handset to support 3gp files as long as the Memory is available in the Handset or the Memory card. :'( Thanks, i realised my mistake.... u can't play 3gp videos in the phone if the resolution is more than 320*240. i was converting them into a higher resolution videos. as long as the resolution is less than this figure the size doesn't matter.
-
So you also got them? I still maintain that the screen guard is not going to help in this issue....although it is still recommended to prevent scratches. There's another angle to it....i feel its like driving a car with polythene bags on the seats to protect them!! anyway.. the dust is entering from the buttons most probably and i don't think anything can be done about it. It hurts a little bit when you notice it for the first time but then you tell yourself... aah, its nothing!! Anybody has any update on the WAP thing? One more thing, what is the maximum size of 3gp videos supported by the phone.... i transferred a few music after converting to 3gp videos but they didn't run....on decreasing the size by more compression they opened.... currently i compress them to about 2.5MB, anybody has an exact figure on the maximum size limit of supporeted video files??
-
I agree with you, the dust is definitely entering from the edges of the buttons......all the dust( rather small fibres) inside my phone are concentrated near the lower centre of the screen.....i feel the D pad is the culprit!! anyway....i think i'll go to the service centre once it starts showing while indoors also...currently the fibres shine only outdoors in the bright sun when the phone's backlight turns off!!!

Rs. 2000 only In Mumbai you get a 1Gb NCP Mini Sd card for Rs 1100-1200.And I guess even in Delhi it should be around Rs 1200 only and Rs 2000 is way too expensive. How can we identify an original NCP card vis a vis a fake one? i've seen 1 GB NCP cards being sold right from Rs1100 to RS1800. Still confused....which one to go for?

Look at what happened to my Rconnect today !
docsinghal replied to nitinmukesh123's topic in Data services
Guys, reliance is theoretically supposed to connect at 115kbps....since 8 bits make 1 byte...it comes out to be approx 16kBps!!! I was using lg 2030 till about 2 years back and the speeds i used to achieve were around 6-8 kBps...LG 7230 gave me speeds of about 12-15 kBps and the current Nokia 6265 regularly gives download speeds of 16-18 kBps...at times it touches even 20 kBps. I get these without any tweaking.....so whats all the fuss about? I don't see any theories of data compression and proxy connections working in my case....its just a question of where you connect from and at what time of the day?? -
This has been discussed in the other thread.....all about nokia 6265!!! Reliance has disabled WAP access for the past few days, hence the browser is not working. Only access to r world is permitted!!! We all are waiting...you also join the gang!

Tanveer here is the link: http://search.ebay.in/search/search.dll?ht...2%26catref%3DC6 I've ordered mine but have not yet recieved it......so its not confirmed how it works.....the price is step but i'm ready to pay as i live in a remote place and won't get it herefor sure!!!

I removed my phone's screen protector by mistake while cutting away its flap. Anywa i don't think that the dust is entering from anywhere near the screen...its from some edge...most likely the D pad seems to be the point of entry..... all the fibres sticking to the screen are distributed in the lower cente only. its very minute problem, only visible when the phones' backlight is off and the ambient light is bright...like in the sun. i think over a period of time this will incease and then it might become a problem. i hope that it doesn't happen to all the sets. As Tanveer pointed out the screen is prone to scratches and should be protected.....i saw sacrath guards for sale on ebay.co.in, i've ordered mine. BTW, tomorrow happens to be the 27th.....the D Day for resumption of WAP services as promised by the service assurance cell calls and mails. Keep your fingers crossed guys!! lets hope for the best!

Guys i noticed the same problem of dust inside the cover of the screen two days back...... seems like we can't to anything about it. just keep the phone away from dust.....hard to do!!! I had read read on some international forum about people complaining about the same problem.. Maybe we'll need to get it cleaned from nokia service if it becomes too troublesome

Hi Guys, I tried using the store images feature in the pc suite...... it gives option to store images and videos from the phone to pc. According to the manual and help files, only the new images are downloaded from the phone each time u use the feature i.e. only the photos clicked since last use of utility....... but i found that each time the software identifies the old images also as new ones and redownloads them onto the pc. Has anyone else experienced the same? what is the way to get around this problem?

Thats some good news then...probably list out the phone number or email id of the chairman and then all can send complaints there. May be then they will act fast. well i wrote to the chairman's office as well and got 4 calls from them yestetday, finally they said they r upgrading the network and hence this issue but it will be resolved by 27 Aug 06. I got a call too.... gave me the same date i.e. 27th. lets see.

WAP is not working these days. Hold your horses!!!!!

Well I have not come across any such software as yet.And I dont think you will get this software so easily on the Net and even If you get this software on the Net it will surely be expensive.I was using the Panasonic GD90 handset about 3-4 yrs back and in that handset there was a option to record call conversations(voice) but I dont think any of the Nokia handsets have it. I remember Nokia 3230, it had this function, there are some softwares to record calls available for S60 series, not sure of S40 I am having trouble with MMS even now, I can only receive MMS sent by myself, any MMS sent by another reliance user is not received by me, even when i send it to another 6265 user it reaches the webpage MMS inbox not the phone. Can somebody please please please help me out. I had a similar problem initially. i don't know how it got solved but you can try the following beacause i tried so many tings i don't know which one worked. Try to switch on the image scaling feature of the phone....this decreases the size of the image (phones like lg 6330 cannot recieve very large images) Check if the other 6265 user has sent a MMS ever.....i only started recieving mms on mine after i sent one. you can PM me and i'll give u my phone no...u can try sending mms on that.....and maybe you'll succeed. lets hope for the best.

You know, all the batteries have started giving better performance after the WAP access was disabled...... I have a feeling thats its because we've stopped using the phone on WAP all day. What do u say?
-
I agree with you. They've done it on purpose!! Anyway, i mailed the CC, the service assurance cell and the nodal officer for AP. Please tell me the Chairmen's office e mail id, or where to find it on the site? I'll give them a piece of my mind.
-
You can definitely go for this handset. i can't compare it with 6255 but i was using lg 7230 before this, but i too live in a place where the siganl strength is very poor. this phone has a great reception everywhere in my locality now. I'm able to talk at places where earlier i didn't even deam of getting one bar of signal strength. Guys, about the WAP access...i guess we've got two options....either just wait and watch or just keep calling the CC and logging in our complaints. All said and done..... there's nothing much we can do about it. The pity is, they addicted all of us to the WAP and pulled the plug. It would'v been easier to digest if it didn't have the feature from day one. I've already logged in thrre complaints at the CC...and also logged a complaint thru the local web world... now the wait begins This is wat the 503 Error code means: HTTP Error 503 - Service unavailable Introduction Your Web server is currently unable to handle the HTTP request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. Some servers in this state may also simply refuse the socket connection, in which case a different error may be generated because the socket creation timed out. 503 errors in the HTTP cycle Any client (e.g. your Web browser or our CheckUpDown robot) goes through the following cycle when it communicates with your Web server: Obtain an IP address from the IP name of your site (your site URL without the leading 'http://'). This lookup (conversion of IP name to IP address) is provided by domain name servers (DNSs). Open an IP socket connection to that IP address. Write an HTTP data stream through that socket. Receive an HTTP data stream back from your Web server in response. This data stream contains status codes whose values are determined by the HTTP protocol. Parse this data stream for status codes and other useful information. This error occurs in the final step above when the client receives an HTTP status code that it recognises as '503'. Resolving 503 errors Your Web server is effectively 'closed for repair'. It is still functioning minimally because it can at least respond with a 503 status code, but full service is impossible i.e. your Web site is simply unavailable. There are a myriad possible reasons for this, but generally it is because of some human intervention by the operators of your Web server machine. You can usually expect that someone is working on the problem, and normal service will resume as soon as possible. Please contact the system operators of your Web site (e.g. your ISP) to determine why the service is down. They will be in a much better position to help you than we are for this type of error. Simply means...its human intervention...they've done it....but they are not telling!!!!!!!

Thank god at least they know that there is a probalem, the CC guy I talked to did not know if there is such a phone as 6265! I am not sure that there is a conspiracy here. If they wanted, they could have barred minibrowser and wap from the very start like they did in 6255 and 6235 and unlike 6155. We will have to wait and watch what happens Same problem in AP also. According to the CC rep there is no such listed problem in the network. He asked me to hold the line so he could give me a Complaint no. but then came online and said that system is slow so he can't generate a omplaint no. He's promised to get back to me but hasn't. Lets hope this problem resolves itself like the initail MMS problem...... but i have a feeling that reliance is going to start charging for WAP access very soon
-
Well i did manage to use the mms and to receive it, i sent an mms to myself one moring and recd it by evening..slow but it worked...today m going to try to send it to another relaince customer using the same handset, will let u know if he receives it. The mms is working fine now....as you mentioned its a bit slow most of the times.....the reliance people had some server problem initially...thats wat has been told by the CC guys. thanks
-
Guys i'm an AP and there was problem with sms service here too. i have been able to send a sms but its not been delivered. also mms behaving strangely again!!!
-
guys...... my phone's mms started working......i don't whether it was the repeated calls to customer care or was it just a flaw in the system earlier....i got all the mms today evening one by one. now its working fine...both sending and recieving mms to rim phones and e mails

The nokai pc suite has a media player inbult which does this job for you.....i also suggest you download the latest pc suit 6.80.22 from their site. the one which comes with 6265 is 6.7 version. the latest version also has a music manager which helps in easy conversion to aac format and transfer of music files from pc to phone.
