@savramesh: No clue to above question?
-
Working here too: socket modes, non-working apps... "All's well that ends well", but "eternal vigilance is the price of ....mobile internet"! So let's keep watching... Now, back to our favourite, still un-answered mystery: 99/199 plans - which of the below is the answer: 1) No additional charges upto 20/100 MB 2) 5ps/10 kb upto 20/100 MB + 10ps/10kb above 20/100 MB 3) No charges upto 20/100 MB if not accessing Rworld and only using other web apps + 5ps/10kb if also using Rworld The last option told to me by CC person. Also, it looks like some people not subscribed to any plan(99/199) are still able to access web! One last question: Is there any way to monitor our KB usage through Reliance services?
-
I have subscribed to plan 99 only from this month. Have to wait for bill next month and see. (Aap hi ne bola: "wait for the bomb!") L0 Working: Opera mini(2-3 versions incl. modded) in http mode only. Skype in http mode only. Yahoo Go!(don't know which mode), Google maps(don't know which mode)Not Working(used to work earlier): Opera mini in socket mode, Skype in socket mode, tsmobiles(remote access app) Sorry! Don't know the differences between L0, L1. Will check. How to find out how much KB we have used? Can't see any option in RWorld. And the CC fellow says i'll only know when I get the bill next month.

@KumaarShah How does one know whether WAP is working or not? I am able to use opera mini & skype in http mode but not socket mode - Nokia 6275/postpaid/99 plan. Inbetweeen i was able to use on socket mode. Does socket mode working mean WAP is working?

The normal .jar file which we can install and run in our java enabled handsets is actually a zip file which can be opened in winzip/winrar etc. When you view it with a hex-viewer or notepad, you can see the "PK" signature as the first 2 bytes. However, there seems to be a different type of .jar file, which i have seen on the web and even in some postings here. This has a signature "application/java-archive" and CANNOT be opened with winzip/winrar... Moreover, such jar files don't work on my Nokia 6275 - I get the "invalid application" error message. So, what's happening here? Is it some form of encrypted file or a new format? How can we convert it to the old format? I think it should be possible as I have seen both versions existing for the same application.

Does reliance cdma network support GPRS/EDGE? I had tried a remote access java application (tsmobiles) in June 2008. It didn't work. The docs said the network had to support GPRS/EDGE and the operator should have provided it to the user. Then around December 2008, I found it had started working. Now since 4-Mar-09, it stopped working. So, does reliance cdma network offer GPRS/EDGE and if so, are they just trying it out on random/trial basis?
-
Yes, It works now. Thanks to all for feedback. Again stopped working from 13-Mar-08.
-
yes. Not working for me since yesterday. Also opera and Skype not working in socket mode. What ARE these ******* up to?

Yes, It works now. Thanks to all for feedback.

Same. Also, some more apps have started working. Maybe it was a phased activation or something.

So if we use the full 20 MB, we need to pay: Rs 99 PLUS (20*1024)*.05/10 = Rs 102 minimum. May be more since they may round up to next 10kb multiple per session total = Rs 200+ AND NO CONTENT DOWNLOAD ALLOWED EITHER. it's a triple ripoff. maybe 199 plan would be better. need to compare in more detail.

i also lost mobile internet from 3-mar. i was not subscribed to any plan. after subcribing to 99 plan, opera mini & skype works but only in http mode, not socket mode. rworld also works. most of the other internet enabled apps don't work anymore. they all used to work fine earlier. maybe i have to enable http mode for them, but no such options available in their settings menus. i used less than 1MB per month. now reliance is forcing me to use 20 MB with 99 plan, and to boot they have prevented many internet enabled apps from working.. they should have continued a default plan without minimum charges. the billing method is also still unclear. if you use less than 20 MB, is your billing: a) rs 99 ONLY? B ) rs 99 PLUS 5ps/10KB? c) rs 99 PLUS 10ps/10KB?

In my 6275, for games and applications, under Options>Application access>Data access>Read user data, Out of the 4 options : 1. Ask every time, 2. Ask first time only, 3. Always allowed, 4. Not allowed, Only the first and last(1. & 2.) are enabled. options 2. & 3. are grayed out. Anybody know how to enable these? It would be most useful for some apps which read and write data to the phone. Otherwise, there is a lengthy series of prompts. Thanks

This is Application Based and you cant change this. Friend Dacswin has shown the way ! See below. Thanks a lot!

I have also observed the same behaviour in my new(2 weeks) 6235. I didn't see this in my previous handset LG RD2130. How come?
-
Hello! I haven't seen any update to the above. So I thought I'd fill in. 6235's .3g2(aka 3GPP2) format can be played back on the PC by : 1) Nokia's PC Suite, AFTER renaming the file as .3gp. But here, there is no audio playback . 2) Better - Apple's Quicktime player 7.1(free version). Audio playback works here. You can also do advanced editing and export(save as..) functions, but you have $buy$ the "PRO" version! Hope this helps other 6235 users grappling with the same issue.

It costs Rs8394 at WW, Rs8200 at sangeetha.global access and Bharthis Rs 8000 with some dealars. Donno abt WW, but it is easily available outside. It's available at WW also. I got mine 4 days back at Jayanagar 4th block WW for Rs8392. I had to wait for almost a month, though. It wasn't available anywhere till recently.

Same story here (Bangalore). Have Nokia/Reliance stopped production/distribution of this model?

Hello ! I'm thinking of buying 6235. Can anyone tell me their experience about transferring and running Java apps?
