Bharti & Hutch To Introduce Virtual Airtime Recharge Source: Techtree News, March 12, 2004 India Pre-Paid Services has currently tied up with Bharti and Hutchinson to introduce its unique service of 'virtual airtime recharge'. The company will only offer virtual prepaid airtime services in Delhi and Mumbai by the end of this month. This new system will allow consumers to recharge their prepaid airtime of any mobile operator and of any denomination from third party retailers. Retailers too will benefit hugely from this service as they will no longer be required to hold airtime stock in physical form of cards and will have a fully integrated virtual ordering and delivery system available 24 hours a day. On the mobile operator's front, India Pre-Paid Services will help streamline their distribution system through a single network built on India Pre-Paid Services' proprietary software application. Operators will also be in a position to track sales of their prepaid connections through data on customer buying patterns. India Pre-Paid Services plans to grow its network of third party retailers and is currently in talks with banks, retailers, petrol companies and large shopping malls among others, to connect with their point of sale (POS) terminals and introduce its services making pre-paid recharge even more accessible to end consumers. India Pre-Paid Services is a 50:50 joint venture between The Pre-Paid Company, South Africa and Indian promoters Pramod Saxena and Sanjiv Lamba. The Prepaid Company is South Africa's leading distributor of pre-paid airtime, having approximately 70% of this market, in both the physical and virtual arenas. A market study by India Pre-Paid Services revealed that approximately 30% of India's prepaid customers leave outlets, disappointed as recharge cards of their choice of operator or the denomination they prefer is not available resulting in customer agitation. The virtual prepaid airtime system aims to address this issue and help operators retain their customers.

Reliance ready to slash bandwidth prices
Ashokjp replied to niket's topic in Reliance Communications
Reliance May Slash Bandwidth Prices Source: Techtree News, March 10, 2004 Reliance Infocomm announced that it might reduce prices of international bandwidth by up to 70 per cent if the access to bottleneck facilities (landing station), currently with Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL), was opened up for competition at fair market prices. The prices could be down to 1 million USD per synchronous transport module (STM) of 155 Mbps international bandwidth from the existing 5 million or so. This implies a reduction by around 70 percent and would be beneficial for the infotech- enabled services, esp. the BPO segment, the company states. The company had acquired the FLAG cable system recently, but faced problems in getting their sufficient international bandwidth released from the VSNL which has the exclusive right on the landing stations. According to the company, denying access to international bandwidth is a violation of ILD license terms and conditions. It feels that India is missing many business opportunities due to VSNL's stand on the issue. Reliance is hoping to set up its own landing stations by 10 months from now. FLAG, which is building a high-capacity resilient loop cable system that will connect the Gulf region, India and China, had recently written a letter to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on its ability to provide additional capacity of 17 STM1s from India (beyond 15 STM1s). If granted permission by VSNL, 23 STM1s could thus be availed by customers who need bandwidth from India. Reliance Infocomm says that FLAG cable system's upgradation has been stalled currently at all the landing stations due to difficulties faced by FLAG in utilizing the bandwidth already installed. It had earlier written to TRAI on the issue requesting access to landing station. The TRAI has held meetings with ILD service providers including Reliance and VSNL. However, reliable sources state that the talks are on but nothing concrete has emerged till now. -

I dont know whether you would be able to do the software flash by urself bcz u would need the right flash file and the exact software to write the stuff.. Even if u have both.. there are chances of loosing the data u have in it.. If its in service centre.. they will have all the required stuff with them... And It would be better if u have it done by them..
-
Hi cspn, I think u should take it to LG service centre.. Maybe it would be fine after a soft flash... Anyways.. tutorials were for Lg 2030 and even for tat enough warnings were given by the individuals..

Normal modems use a set of ‘Attention Codes’ (known as AT commands) for normal operation.. These commands instructs the phone to do something specific, such as dialling a telephone number. We can control the mobile through these commands.. Such as send sms, retrieve certain settings etc.. The "AT" refers to getting the attention of your modem.
