Who said that you are safe when using rconnect????? I don't use rconnect but I know that it's nothing but a dialer. When you are connected to internet, you get real IP. Anyone can get access to your system(he doesn't have to be a pro hacker to do that), unless you secure yourself using some firewall, or UNsharing your shared docs. Its not reliance's Rconnect's fault if you are so dumb not to do this. I personally use MTNL's broadband. I have installed my router on ethernet port, enabled the natting on the router and opened only the required ports on the router. If you can't do it, then atleast you can enable windows xp's firewall or get any free firewall (zone alarm etc.).

I searched the net a lot and its real hard to find animated wallpapers ( gtran format, set of bmp's). So I made a set from a gif file. If you think you have a set of animated wallpaper worth sharing, please upload it. Here's my contribution. fish.zip

I was facing the same prob. with the set. If your set is under warranty, go to the service center and your batteries will be replaced on the spot.

I tried a couple of gif animators, but they don't always get the background right. Go to http://www.gifworks.com/ and use the online tool to open the gif file and use "optimize->split into frames". you will get different frame images, right click and save those images, thats it. and please contribute. I am waiting for some ki@#@ss wallpapers.

use PC sync software.
-
this is for Saurav and others who have not been able to use the pc Sync software because it hanges at around 20%. Well after some research I found out that the software requires USB 2.0 and if you use it on 1.1 or earlier, it behaves that way. Just buy a USB 2.0 card (PCI slot). It will be around Rs. 250. and it works perfectly

I don't know, maybe they have installed a firewall and are allowing you to download midi, jpg etc. files directly from RWORLD (their own server) and blocking such content from any other IP address. Its very easy actually.
-
doesn't seem to work. there might be two reasons for it. 1. Ringtones are not of the proper format or size. I read somewhere that the sizes should be between 2 kb and 4 kb for most phones. 2. Reliance is blocking the download of such content and is only allowing to to view the text documents

I have exchanged my samsung sch mobile with gtran. Since then, I have been trying to connect it to PC. most of the time Synctool gets stuck at "making usb connectiin" . sometimes mobile says "connected to PC" and the Sync tool is at "trying to get the data from Mobile", and is stuck at 20%. I have tried changing USB ports uninstalling/reinstalling sync, but nothing has helped. has it happened to anyone else.?????

No knowledge of OE or mdb is required All you have to do is export the OE address book as csv (comma separated values) file and import the same in your pc sync software. If you don't see an import/export option in your pc sync software, then download the new version from gtranindia.com (most prob.). or search google for gtran site.

yeah, I guess the problem is with my system only, I tried it at my friend's place and it was working perfectly. Its time to reinstall windows, I guess. Anyways, the mobile is soooper cooooool. Does anyone know that there is a folder "C:\Program Files\GTRAN\GTRAN PC Sync Tool \Group Ring" (if you have installed Sync tool in the default location). It contains all the ring tones that are in the mobile and there are a lot more (check out ring_001.mid, Symphony No40.mid etc.)
