  1. Been there, done that (something similar). But it seems you don't know that retailer can reverse an e-recharge within the next 24 or 48 hours or something (can't recall exactly). So you should have insisted that the retailer do a reversal and then re-recharge as special or normal recharge as required. In my case Docomo CC actually themselves offered to call the retailer (I had to supply his ph number, which incidentally I had) and force him to reverse the recharge. Else retailers tend to deny that reversals are possible. Their CC even called me the next day to ask if I was satisfied by the resolution. I was surprised at their level of service. But later I found that it isn't consistent. Sometimes they just close a complaint with no resolution or explaination. Actually, Docmo website does mention the details well now. So always make sure you read properly before doing a recharge and instruct the retailer accordingly. So if you do your job right, the story should not repeat. Best is to recharge online using Docomo's website itself. You just have to select the right option. Its well designed that way, and I doubt you can go wrong even by oversight. Recharging thru retailers is anyway a pain in more than one way. +1 to that. But in case of Docomo, what you say is valid only when you are charging thru retailers. In case of Docomo, it seems retailers themselves don't know about the special and normal recharge options. With Idea I have found that it is simply the denomination that determines what recharge you will get. So in that sense it seems more idiot-proof.
  2. :previous:Free on-net minutes are useful only if the numbers you need to call are on-net. Life if RCom or even Docomo gives me free on-net talk-time, it will be almost useless for me.
  3. But what have these bozos done to the documents already submitted? Shredded them all?? Free talktime is fine, but its still like harassment and waste of time for the subscriber.
  4. Battery chargers and cheap headphones are one thing, but phones are way more costly. Whats more, you will need a working spare, while the new one is not available, etc., so the inconvenience/loss/risk is much bigger. They should not mark out of stock items as available, deliberately or otherwise. And sending free item (to many buyers) instead of the main thing, itself is fishy... For eg. how would you claim refund after free gift is shipped to you?
  5. Its All New Airtel Now

The issue is not that "local"! Airtel network is quite bad in most areas of Poona... in fact in Maharashtra. So at least I wasn't referring to specific localities. As for the frequency band, Airtel does operate on 1800 Mhz here, but so do Uninor, Docomo and Aircel. All three (roughly in that order) are much newer than Airtel and have MUCH better networks. Now isn't that amazing??
  6. Its All New Airtel Now

May this yagya of yours be successful and bring divine blessings on the most inferior networks in Poona/Maharashtra - AirHELL, RGSM & BSNL. If your solution does not work, it does not seem like anything else will...
  7. Beware of Futurebaazar. Hearing about malpractices from their Mobile Battleground customers - after paying them they say they don't have stock and will only send free gift. After that you can keep chasing them for refund... or wait interminably until stock arrives.
  8. Its All New Airtel Now

Right, their network must be good in jungles... not in cities like Pune. And not even in some locations at my residence. Its amongst the most pathetic network in this circle. I guess AirHELL customers should live in jungles, for a happier life. Cheating and all is quite another issue, won't even start about that. Like Kesav said, you really can't generalize. Your color interpretation is 100% on the mark. If people don't take the clue and run for their lives, then (Air)HELL is wating...
  9. ^^^Didn't exactly get the purpose of the above info. I "focused" on the Olive Ridleys as their future is directly threatened by Tata. And really, it should not matter if they are engendered or not. Humans are not endangered in that sense. So shall we go around obliterating colonies of them for economic "progress"?
  10. Awesome offer! Wish it was available in Maharashtra.
  11. The above thought is echoed by many... Time is NOT what the Olive Ridleys have on their side. Corporate India can take all the time it wants, but it won't bring the LAST remaining Olive Rideys back. In fact time is most certainly not what corporate India (or the planet for that matter) has on its side. It may already be too late. Let us not even think about requiring more time on such a critical issue!
  12. Television Orders - TRAI

Shhhhhh! All are of course fast asleep. Don't disturb their beauty sleep... you might annoy them.
  13. The giver is more responsible. As long as you keep giving, there will be more than enough takers. + 1 to the part about believing. Can't buy it so easily. The best I'd give them is benefit of doubt... So dear raccoon puts belief into practice. Very rarely writes +1 and then never actually clicks on button Uhhh... In fact I have used that button at least a couple times if not more on couple of YOUR posts that I'v found useful! Though I'v not been liberal with that button, in general. It seems everyone here has a stance about Tatas without any real evidence. And many seem to badly want to believe their alleged piety without any real evidence either. One reason I'm not a Tata fan is this - Don't let TATA terminate the turtles. Some here believe that Tatas are not after money. If they are not after money then I guess they have some inexplicable congenital hatred towards the last few poor Olive Ridley Turles? If fact, since I read about the above, I'v kinda avoided buying Tata products, when alternatives were available.
  14. The giver is more responsible. As long as you keep giving, there will be more than enough takers. So those who give bribes should not grumble about the state of affairs. + 1 to the part about believing "all the crap shown". Can't buy it so easily. The best I'd give them is benefit of doubt...
  15. The Truth Behind Led TVs

While I am not in disagreement about what you have suggested, let us also look at the other side too - people who buy latest products are also financing development of these new cutting edge (at that time) technologies. If nobody bought the stuff at that (premium) stage, how would products reach the mass market/mainstream stage, which is when they get cheaper.
  16. Thanks mate. Have seen that guarantee, but wasn't sure how reliable it is in real, so asked about people's personal experiences. I have bought few smaller items too. Previous couple experiences were fine; But last time I bought a compressor and it was severely damaged in transit (apparently). Seller ready to exchange it, but its just too much hassle and not worth it. Smaller items are ok, but stuff like mobiles are a relatively bigger risk, and I'v had people tell me of cases where seals were tampered and items like battery, etc, changed with spurious ones. Also there is possibility of grey market stuff. This is what I'v heard, and this apprehension is not specific to eBay, but about online purchases in general. But then eBay seems to have a much better reputation than Rediff, etc.
  17. Thanks for posting that. But is it safe to buy mobiles from eBay? I know one can check the seller's rating... but anybody has any personal experience? Also, in case it is defective, do they replace it?
  18. The Truth Behind Led TVs

They do! Not to mention the higher power consumption of a big CRT. Thats why we were considering a change. But I guess it may be better to wait a bit.
  19. Thanks. LIked some of those. Using them on my phone now.
  20. The Truth Behind Led TVs

+1. Thanks for posting Rajan. We have a "well functioning CRT" but were considering a replacement. Will stick with that for now.
  21. Tried to access some settings that required SIM PIN2 on a handset using my Docomo SIM. Tried security and unlock codes as mentioned in manual (000000 and 1234) and the phone locked me out out these settings. If I try to access these settings I get the message "SIM Blocked" with the option to enter PIN2 Unblock Code or go "Back". The manual asks me to contact the Service Provider if I forget these codes. Just contacted Docomo Customer Care and the guy didn't seem to know anything about it and asked me to contact the handset manufacturer (he said they can only supply PUK code). But this is obviously a SIM related issue, so the handset manufacturer will most likely pass the back right back to service provider. Have never changed the default codes. Any advice/solution will be greatly appreciated.
  22. :previous:Yes, I got the PUK code yesterday from Docomo CC and tried it last night. Didn't work.
  23. Motorola EX128 Review

Picture quality is quite sad (assuming you've used optimal settings). Battery back up seems really AWFUL. Didn't expect different considering the low capacity battery and dual SIM. However, its also network dependent - hope you didn't use 2 RGSM SIMs. That would spell doom for any phone's battery, unless its using a car battery or something. Considering your review, it sure does not seem to be even worth considering. Flop show by Moto. I expected better from Moto.
  24. Please Suggest A Gsm Handset

Review posted: http://www.rimweb.in...039#entry208039 Thanks mate! Will go thru it right away.
  25. Any New Releases From Nokia in CDMA?

If the Symbian Foundation does shut down, how exactly would it effect existing Nokia phones running on Symbian? App. store shuts down too? No more new or updated apps?
