Sounds good. But I doubt if they filter as well as the APCs do.- 6,376 replies

Would suggest not to look beyond APC. Dunno if you can get any deals on it though. Our famed in-house deals search engine might be able to help there.- 6,376 replies

Rajan and anybody else in the know - any good deals for Mixer Grinder and/or Food Processors? Also, any ideas which brands/models are durable? Our Philips HL 1643 kicked the bucket with a burning smell. Lasted barely 4 ish years with moderate use. A nearby, well known shop fixed it and when the guy started it to demo that its working now when my parents went to get it back, it sprayed them with sparks. Almost burnt clothes. Four years life from a relatively pricier brand like Philips is not a good show. In fact, even visually they do not seem as if they are from an international brand. Not to mention other niggling issues. Any ideas which may be better, more durable options? I hear home grown brands are better in this segment. Rajan, counting on your valuable advice.- 6,376 replies

Docomo Formally Joins Airtel Cheater's Club?
raccoon replied to raccoon's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Calling CC will get you nowhere. They choose only the finest retards. Mostly they won't even take a complaint and will keep repeating like a tape recorder that you have been charged correctly as per your plan. -

Dude, haven't you seen the screen shot I posted above? Your case seems almost similar. Rather than getting into what it is (what it is is broad daylight looting) just shoot mails/call Nodal/Appellate desk and demand a refund. Considering posting on Docomo's Facebook page too. At this rate, they should be giving compensation too. If you don't do it, you will be encouraging them to keep doing it. -

Many people believe that Tata is the most ethical business group around. The comment was meant for them. -
Docomo Formally Joins Airtel Cheater's Club?

TATA Docomo strikes yet again!!! Sab Se Bol pack. Activated 8 July, 2010 at 7:07 pm. According to customer care, they deactivated it on 27 June, 2011, as, according to them 1 year was up. And after that, they started deducting data charges from my balance! Luckily, have hardly been using GPRS/EDGE on my phone lately, so the amount is small. No question of error on my side. I even have the pack activation confirmation SMS on my SIM, which bears the above date and time. Plus I had noted in my diary and set a reminder for the same, so they can't pull a fast one on me, when the pack genuinely runs out, and they don't inform me. Absolutely disgusting goings on within a Tata group company. Maybe Mr. Tata is in dire straights? How about we set up a charity fund for him so that he stops looting petty cash this way? Or maybe he can't count when the year is up. In which case we could finance his education in some adult education center. Recently, TRAI has come out with new regulation that prevents operators from starting VAS service without explicit consent. For sure telcos like AirHELL and Tata Docomo will resort to these new kind of tactics to make up for it. -
TATA Docomo ups SMS, STD Call Rates
raccoon replied to ravi_patent's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Very disappointing move by tata. I hope they are not dreaming of charging at par with incumbents like Idea. Their network is noway upto par. If its not for tariffs, I have no reason to stay with Docomo. They have also quietly increased at least their 1GB/month pack validity from 30 days to 20 days! -

I would not recommend IFB to you at all. Its a long story, but it is not durable at all. And its not just about one machine. After lot of noise, IFB replaced ours, and the replacement is also giving problems. Latest was that the PCB conked out. Its beyond me how PCBs in new machines fail like this. It can't be due to surges as we have not had issues with any other appliances, and also have a central high/low voltage protector. In fact if you read online, lots of people have the same issue. And its not just the PCB, you will have to keep repairing/replacing things in rotation. The low quality parts are pretty damn expensive. You will always be at the mercy of the repair guys and will have to be stuck at home for hours. Read up more on team-bhp, if interested. That said, I don't agree that dishwashers are not suitable for Indian conditions, etc. The machine washes pretty well WHEN IT WORKS PROPERLY. In fact the wash quality can be much better than normal hand washing and far better than what the usual maid will do. Not to mention, it is by far, far more hygienic as it uses hot water and chlorine (IFB detergent is chlorine based, others I have seen, like Finish, are enzyme based). Machine washing uses much less water too. Yes, you gotta use some grey matter and learn how to use it right, else you will start blaming the machine. That's what my mom started doing initially. So the issue is only about IFB dishwashers durability. It may wash pretty well when it works properly, but it will not work properly most of the time and parts will keep failing and IFB will want to sell you expensive service contracts to rub it in. Its a win-win situation for IFB - sell low quality goods and then make more money thru expensive spares, service and annual contracts. Even if you are ready to pay for the annual contracts, make sure you have heaps of time to wait on the repair guys. If parts are not in stock be ready to accept weeks/months of outage. As we all know, the above deal was a pricing mistake by Letsbuy and everyone's orders were cancelled. I too ordered and it was cancelled. I ordered on Cash on Delivery Method, so there was no question of money getting stuck/refund. I received a phone call also for saying sorry about the mistake. Now Letsbuy has also sent me a Discount Coupon of Rs 500 valid on minimum purchase of Rs 750. Letsbuy rocks... Thats awesome! Wish I had ordered. But a lot of people's orders were cancelled. I doubt they gave coupons to all, or did they?- 6,376 replies

Not good, because till now Flipkart prices have been usually higher than market prices or at most at par. Exceptions seem to be the lowest end phones where there prices are probably a bit lower (at least in the cases I'v checked). If Letsbuy doesn't offer prices lowest like before, then its bad for us customers.

Hes looking at the below 10k range. Besides, the Ace is currently overpriced. Desire and Defy are more desirable and "VFM" in the 15k range. -

Dude as mentioned before, O1 screen is nowhere near the XCD35. It beats every phone in its class and a bit beyond hands down. XCD35 is supposed to have comparable dev support. Pulkit, its fairly simple - want better cam go for O1 (comparatively). Want way better screen go for the Dell. Want higher capacity battery, go with O1. Want dust to spoil the whole experience, go straight for O1. Two more issues - O1 is supposed to have a touch bug and issues esp. with slower SD cards (valid only if you want to upgrade the included 2 GB card) Rest all is kinda similar. -
Whats wrong with Letsbuy? Need to buy the Noka X1-O1 or similar dual SIM for someone, and checked the prices on Letsbuy Letsbuy price - Rs. 2,199 (base price) Flipkart price - Rs. 1,826 Flipkart price so much cheaper? I thought Letsbuy was the one that was giving the best prices till now. Checked couple other fones. The Nokia X2-01 price on Letsbuy has been increased to Rs. 3,799 on Letsbuy and price is still Rs. 3,460 on Flipkart. Is it that Letsbuy has started charging premium prices now? Or maybe Nokia has increased prices on these fones, but Flipkart (and some other sites) are still giving at old prices? Letsbuy for premium or same price wont work as unless there is an appreciable price difference, Flipkart is the obvious choice by far.

Any disadvantages with offline GPS apps? A friend is interested in buying, but does not have answers tot the above. Any comments, anybody?. -

Well, the reason I asked is that the reviews I could easily find (didn't have time to search/check properly) said that it does not stand up to EB standards at all. But as I said it was a speedy check. Not even sure if they are talking about the same edition, etc. Will check now... -

Haven't seen it in person, but I too think it does not look so good at least in the pics. But at that price I think it worth considering. But why are they forcing BT headsets on customers? They should remove it and reduce the price further. Then it will look really attractive. Ditto with the Defy. It seems they want to keep the price barrier up.
