  1. Which ones you have? Currently am using type 1 (wired).... but don't mind type II either. Btw, just curious... how come you got routers just lying around?
  2. Kshah, thats a really cool idea. I always try to to waste anything. I either use it till it lasts or give it away or sell it, depending on the item/circumstance. I know many who just discard perfectly working stuff with the trash... Btw, I'd be quite interested in the ADSL router as mine seems to be packing up . Not getting a new one as no stocks with BSNL r'now ...and also I may not continue with BSNL wireline BB for much longer. And by any chance do you have a AGP slot graphic card? I got some stuff to give away here too... will get back about it later.
  3. Can We Use Bl5C Battery In Nokia 6265 ?

Yes, there are sellers on ebay selling BL-5c starting from Rs. 333. Some of them are without the original packing. No personal experience with them though. Buying thru Nokia Care will be most expensive. There are shops here that sell it for slightly above Rs. 350 (in original packing). Check the hologram for those dashes and all carefully. It seems Nokia has stopped the SMS/web verification of battery numbers, so hologram is the only way to check now. I need a BL-5CA for Nokia 1112, but it seems Nokia is now recommending BL-5C for it, and it higher capacity than BL-5CA. Funny thing is that if you buy thru Nokia Care, the cost works out to close to half the cost of a new equivalent handset (Nokia 1203)!!! So don't know if I should replace the phone or the battery...
  4. Can We Use Bl5C Battery In Nokia 6265 ?

What is the rating of BL-6C. The newer BL-5Cs are slightly above 1000 mAh. While it may not cause any apparent problem Nokia advices the use of only recommended batteries. Nokia will wash its hands off the warranty too, if use of non-standard batts/accessories are suspected.
  5. Low Battery Backup with Reliance?

I wouldn't take the explanations given too seriously. Often they are just glib talk designed to retain customers without any concrete work being done. Besides, the answer given to you does not sound very convincing. More customers would mean congestion on a GSM network. And the main issues right now are v poor voice clarity and 2nd is poor coverage. In response to one of my complaints, somebody from their tech dept. called and when I asked him why is the clarity so poor even in areas where there is decent reception, I was told that it is due to interference of adjoining cell sites. Further, I asked him, don't you guys use the GSM connections yourself and see the state it is in yourself? He skipped answering that directly and said that they of course monitor the network all the time and act on customer complaints. I asked them so you'll only do something if you have complaints? Not all customers will complain... they will simply leave. He didn't have an answer. In short, I'd never be impressed with just answers. Bottom line is, I can't give a nice tech explanation to everyone who calls me and gets irritated with the voice clarity. One needs to hear and be heard clearly, period.
  6. ^^^Don't know about Airtel, but BSNL does give the promised speed. Which ISP are you talking about? You shouldn't accept if its less than what is promised.
  7. Yes, of course I mean RGSM. Still no respite in spite of the promises made. My RGSM remains useless for voice calls due to horrible voice clarity.
  8. ^^^ Given the current state of their GSM network, they should be seeing -ve growth...
  9. Low Battery Backup with Reliance?

Yup... its not a problem with your SIM. Even the Nokia Care centre I recently visited told me that they have observed RGSM subscribers get significantly lesser battery life due to poor signal intensity, etc. So live with it or change to a better service...
  10. But they are saying the phones will be MANUFACTURED in India!?
  11. Hehe... seems subscribers from larger cities have wised up on Airtel's cheating methods, at least to some extent. The more you interact with it, the more opportunities it has to con you.
  12. Oh no?! Are you sure? I was planning to recharge both my phones today...
  13. Useless plans for users like me. I was hoping that they will reduce the monthly charges for my Rs. 750 plans and increase speeds to at least 512 kbps. No chance am paying more than what I am for BB. And the FUB absolutely sux! Very disappointing.
  14. But I guess your calls regarding this can be classified as a complaint. So you shouldn't be charged for it anyway.
  15. @Hitesh, I was never very happy with it. What I said is that it was tolerable when considered along with the tariff offered. But now, after my complaints it has become intolerable. The voice clarity is so bad that almost unusable for voice calls. They fixed the texting issues tho, and as of now it remains fixed. So its good for the 1p/SMS thing... and thats about it. Truly disgusting show by RCom.
  16. Low rates are not a substitute for quality. Sub-standard networks like RGSM should really be pulled up by the regulator. So should unethical/illegal ways of making money, as is done by Airtel. Clearly a lot needs to be done...
  17. Hope your media is genuine. Fakes are pretty common. Even if its genuine, the quality of media available is no great shakes. There is a quality difference between batches/lots too. Which writer are you using? And which media format? If using DVD-R try using DVD+R (+R is is better, if both are working).
  18. Burning DVDs too slow on today's drives and media, which are optimised for speed, is said to result in different kind of problems. That said, I use my Moser Baer-LiteOn with Sony and Moser Baer media to burn at around 16x. Most of the time I don't get any errors and it verifies ok... but lately I have been trying to do multi-session and it has been giving problems.
  19. Reliance Gsm Call Divert/forward

Non proficiency in English is another matter... but can they compete with our CC people in the field of pure retarded ness?
  20. Reliance Gsm Call Divert/forward

^^^Instead of the battery thingy, they have been trying something new with me - whenever I have called them about the network problem, they tell me that work is in progress and it will be resolved by tomorrow at x am/pm. All lifes of course, as nothing happens after the given time. And having said that, they usually refuse to even take a complaint. Calling those retards on phone is a complete waste of time. Emailing is a much better idea.
  21. Who has the time to do all this on a daily basis, and keep track of things? And then you will have to keep track of when its midnight, or when you have exhaused the minutes etc, etc. And local is 40p, STD 46p. Nonsense... nothing beats RCom's Re 1/3 min simple plan... but only if they get their gawdamn GSM network right.
  22. Reliance Gsm Call Divert/forward

Well, if you have zero signal, then your problem is worse. My problem is that the voice clarity s**ks even when signal intensity is ok. RGSM is no good if its your main phone. Don't know if/when they will fix their rotten network.
  23. Reliance Gsm Call Divert/forward

Which areas of Poona do you face a coverage issue in? With me the issue is not just of coverage but also of poor voice clarity. Please don't waste your time with those CC retards on phone. Just email the service assurance cell (email on website). I have been nagging them once every while... and their tech. dept. has also called me up couple of times. While they have resolved the texting problems, problems with voice calls remain. Please do email them about it and follow it up. It seems docomo also has issues in Pune... as told to me by couple of Docomo users. Guess these new networks are taking their time to smoothen out...
  24. Existing operators don't always have a better network. Best example is Airtel (Mah). Only recently its become barely usable. And I'm sure most of the new operators will improve their network with time. That said, cartelisation is always a possibility. I just hope the competition is somehow kept up to prevent this... else there is nothing to prevent veteran leeches like Airtel from suc*ing us dry.
