Discounts & Deals For Non Electronics/Gadget Stuff

That's because Maharashtra is the only major state now left with Octroi. Abolished pretty much everywhere else. Bestylish sends through Blue Dart. Blue Dart does the local octroi clearance, pays it & attach the Octroi paid receipt on top of the parcel. And i suppose the Lady you spoke to in BeStylish would be a newbie and naive to say that she can send you again without the demand for Octroi. Most probably it will again come up with Octroi. One way for you to avoid it will be to co-ordinate with Be Stylish & Blue Dart. Ask BeStylish to give you Tracking Number the moment it ships again. Contact relevant local Blue Dart office & tell them that you will do the Octroi Clearance yourself for that tracking number. When shipment arrives, you probably will have to collect it from some of their office. That's one possible way around suggested to me by local Blue Dart guy. Another way if your luck is shining because BeStylish is naive & prepays octroi for you. Nobody else does.. Even if they do, they will pay on their invoice amount.. Local octroi guys most probably will value it at about Rs 1,500-2,000. Waiting for the gory details.. Your Shakespearean tragedies with Online Deals never seems to end!! Well, my luck did shine. At least to an extent. After I refused the parcel, considering your above post, I called them again and was told again that I do not have to pay octroi and they will resend it without the demand for octroi. After that what happened was rather irritating. Almost everyday someone would call me and ask me why I have returned the parcel and I would have to repeat the same boring story. The sixth or seventh time I almost blew it, but then they they explained properly to me that its just a one month old process and they are working hard to iron out all these issues and that I should please bear with them and apologized for the inconvenience. He confirmed again that I do not have to pay for octroi. Apparently he was someone sensible or higher up the chain because after that I received the parcel in a couple of days. And no, I did not have to pay octroi. They took a total of about 25 days to deliver the goods. Way, way slow, and rather messy, but the coupon made it worth it, I guess. -

Thats good, but sad about the remote button. It should work as advertised. Anyway, you got a good deal for the price it seems. I was tempted to buy but my O1 is no longer with me and don't know which one I'll buy or if i'll need to buy aftermarket headphones for it. Raccoon Bhai, that offer was being displayed in one of the GOOGLE ADS of Letsbuy on different forums with Incorrect Pricing. The person who originally posted that offer on the very first might have got the link from the Google Ad. only. Thats really bad then. Makes you really wonder if they do such things on purpose. And to what end?- 6,376 replies

My own experience with Snapdeal coupons has not been so good. Bought a Bean bag from Lazy World using their coupon. A very brief review - Had to call several times for delivery and the whole thing took quite sometime. First time when they delivered, they got the wrong color and then tried to convince me that its the same color but looks different on their website due to it being digital camera or some similar illogical arguments. I refused to accept it. Later on some other guy admitted that they didn't have that color bag ready, so they just delivered some other color. Then despite telling them to take care of the stitching, the bag of the color had some shoddy crooked stitching. And they had the cheek to tell me I should not be looking into such minute detail. I said don't even get me started about minute details, even a blind bat can see the crooked stitching from a mile. Had to buy as the coupon was already purchased. Anyway it was not for me, so purchased it. Else would have demanded a refund from Snapdeal. Was going to buy more from them but now no way. I realize that this coupon business is like having a captive customer, since you have either paid for the thing in part or full, you will likely not go elsewhere. So its good if your deal and the merchant is professional. Else you will be held captive. -
Radiation Risk: Are CDMA Cellphones More Dangerous Than GSM?

Thats the best solution, but the issue is that it is now a lot more costly to use the landline than mobile (in most cases). -
There is no dearth of entertainment. Instead of real issues people love nonsense like this. Its just like Bombay being known as Bombay in English, Mumbai in Marathi, Bambai in Hindi, etc. But no, it seems to confuse the constricted so-called patriotic mind to no end. He will have everyone to calling it Mumbai only. Else he will go on a rampage and break his beloved Mumbai's property and bash up its inhabitants. Germans call Germany Deutschland and France as Frankreich, etc. Indians speaking HIndi would call them Francisi, etc., etc. How about they all file PILs or sue each other or something?

Please suggest Android handset under Rs.10,000

It might be prudent to delay your purchase decision a bit. Recent days has seen lot of price cuts. Its likely that the prices of these phones could fall too. -

Dude go right for the XCD35 but only if cam is not important for you. XCD35's cam is pathetic. But everything else is fine as per users. The screen is by far the best not in but beyond its class. Star ratings and all wont help you when all the stars will soon be coated with a very pretty layer of dust, lol! Further Dell seems to have a policy of replacing rather than repairing handsets, should there be a issue with your handset (yes, even LG did that for me, but they don't normally replace so easily). Thats a big plus. -

Dude the dust problem of the Optimus One has been discussed in dozens of online forums (check on XDA, Techenclave, etc). In short, the phone is prone to accumulating dust under the screen. Initially, it will be visible only in sunlight. Reports that the issue has been addressed by LG seem to be false, as people even with February 2011 handsets are reporting the problem. Service centers are capable of making the problem worse (they did in my case, long story, but I got a full refund). Its the best phone in its price range, but ruined by the dust problem and pathetic headphones. The dust issue is capable of ruining everything else. -

I don't think so... Although, this seems to be an another marketing tool to generate footfalls, it is not going to yield any good result in future. You loose customer faith. & not really sure about interest free cash as, most of the purchases do happen with credit card & actual customer don't have to pay cash upfront. & depending on timing you will get refund by the time your C/C bill comes. Read my post in this forum only (after page 75 & above) I have attached pics of ezone listing. 42" Toshiba full HD LCD @ ~ 32000. This did not go through did not accept my PIN code to ship the item. I also, did waste the same in checking reviews but at the end of it, it was nothing. Good part was, I did learn few things about LCD TV's which helped me to buy a new one.. Postashish, in what was was that a rude comment? It seems that Letsbuy has done similar stuff before. It reflects very badly on the company and its professionalism. I was just checking out the comments online, and you will find FAR ruder comments online. I'm not saying they are justified or not, but what is sure is that their reputation is taking a beating. Its a big waste of time of the customer's time as well. But one issue I noticed - that particular offer was not being displayed by Letsbuy's search engine. So then how did the person who originally posted the offer know about it? If it wasn't even being displayed thru their search engine, I'm inclined to give them some leeway. And yes, one has to appreciate that they seem to be selling at the lowest prices. And their services too seem to have improved compared to few months ago, when the hordes of -ve reviews seemed to suggest that it was a con site. But it has far to go before it can be compared to the best like Flipkart. Those who have received the eBay headphones, which phones are you using them with? I mean are you using them with the supplied connector or without? And is it working great (including the remote button)? Is the sound on phone calls using mic at least as good as other average headsets?- 6,376 replies

Radiation Risk: Are CDMA Cellphones More Dangerous Than GSM?
raccoon replied to ravi_patent's topic in General Technical Discussion
Not sure how accurate this statement is (GSM Vs. CDMA). There are way too many variables. For eg. CDMA here works on 800 MHz and both my GSMs work on 1800 MHz. No marks for saying GSM scores big time on this parameter alone. Further, battery consumption on CDMA is higher, suggesting that overall net radiation *may* be higher. You cannot emit radiation energy out of nothing. CDMA phones have significantly lower stand by times compared to GSM phones, suggesting they emit more on standby too. Further, they generally transmit to towers further away (fewer towers) hence would need to operate in higher power mode. Many more factors... -

Thats really pathetic. Letsbuy and its group companies are still far from professional. I was very close to placing an order myself, but just didn't get a terrific feeling about it, so decided to wait and watch. Wasted time in checking reviews. One wonders if they do this deliberately to gain publicity and get interest free cash to use.- 6,376 replies

Please suggest Android handset under Rs.10,000
raccoon replied to imshyam's topic in Handset Suggestions
Why is it not fair? Unless someone makes use of the things a more expensive phone offers, its a total waste. @Imshyam, beware of the Optimus One as it has a serious dust issue. The Samsungs hardly seem interesting. If camera is not imp. then the XCD35 is your best bet. -
Sigh... time to fast then? Why will the Govt. want an effective Lokpal bill? We are talking about removing the very incentive these scumbags have to get into Government. Surely nobody believes they come for public service? No way they will accept it unless they are forced to.
-
Its been approx. 3 months since it got delivered. Raising the issue now will not be appropriate.

Are all items on tradus sold thru individual sellers? The plastic bag had Tradus printed on it and as far as I can recall even the address was of Tradus itself (don't recall for sure though). I did think about bringing it to their notice, but due to lack of time and due to the fact that there was no visible damage, it skipped my mind.
-
Tradus - bought twice using coupons. Didn't have any issues. They replied to email promptly too. However, in one of those instances they sent the pen drive in just a plastic bag. No other packing at all, except the pendrive's own packing which hardly offers any protection. Thankfully, it arrived without any visual damage. Futurebazaar - On the other extreme when it came to the packing. The last order was for 3 items which arrived in big boxes. Heck, even the towel was sent in thick box! With all that packing, one would think the stuff would survive coming thru a war zone, lol! But no environmental concerns about using so much packing material?

Vodafone Drops Defamation Case Against Man Who Talks Too Much

Dudes, if your petition does not work, I'd suggest you start a new petition - a petition for all RCDMA users (or at least data users) to quit RCom. Maybe, just maybe that will bring them to their senses. And this time the onus of doing something will not be with RCom but with its subscribers. So more begging not required. -
Signed.

Vodafone Drops Defamation Case Against Man Who Talks Too Much
raccoon replied to csmart's topic in The Lounge
Well, as far as my issues go and my experience with RCDMA in particular and RCom in general in the past goes, all issues with all other operators (except AirHELL) were lot more preferable than those with RCOM. I never regretted for one second after ditching them. In fact I kicked myself many times for not doing it earlier. Anyway, thats me and my experiences. Yours could be different. I beg to differ when you compare complaints and stuff with tariffs. Demanding redressal for complaints is not begging. However tariff is their prerogative. If one does not like it, one can always leave. In fact I feel it is those who leave who eventually force a change. Rest all does not matter so much. And to the extent that it matters and since you feel so strongly about it, I have done my tiny bit by signing anyway. -

raccoon replied to csmart's topic in The Lounge
I'm not sure I agree with this part. Well, at least not entirely. Businesses are run with the sole objective of profit (at least in 99% cases). I seriously don't even see these petitions working. Do you guys think that RCom does not know that they would have lost hordes of customers due to such tariffs? Yet, for reasons best known to them, they choose not to make any changes. And yet some customers choose not to let go of them despite much better options elsewhere. I'd suggest you exercise that option. I exercised it long ago. It would be far more effective. That said, its not like I'm against the petition, though I strongly feel its pretty much like BEGGING like Rajan has already said. And thats the only reason I did not sign it till now. But I'll sign it now in the hope it works for you guys, though I doubt it. Besides if the customer is really king, he should not beg. Its ungraceful.
