I don't think you will get a resolution to such problems from CC. I have a long standing billing problem with Idea too. Their amazing billing system clock goes behind time every few months. This effects the "happy hours" in which I get 10 paise I-I calling. Complaining to CC goes absolutely nowhere. Every time I have to bring this to the notice of the Appellate authority. They rectify it, but it goes out of sync again after few months. Try calling the Nodal Officer and then the Appellate authority.

It has been 3 - 4 days since I'v been on RGSM. Signal intensity at my residence (Kothrud) seems really good... its mostly at max, just like Idea. Quite unlike Airtel which has always been dicy. However, I'v noticed that intercircle calls with Vodaphone take several attempts to get thru. No problem when calling the same Voda number from other phones. Can somebody tell me what frequency RGSM operates in, in Maharashtra circle?

Same here! Changing numbers is inconvenient, but I won't stick to any operator if it pisses me off. So won't vote for this poll. Jeepers! And I thought I was the ****er lugging around 2 phones! Its damn inconvenient... I seldom carry the 2nd one. But after reading your post, I suddenly feel "lighter"...

Hey, thanks KumaarShah. I'v been away due to both time constraints and also, since I no longer had a RCom phone, I felt I didn't have much to contribute. Glad to see that you have graduated into a veteran in the interim. Sad to hear nothing has changed at RCom CC. I don't know what it is like r'now, as Its just been couple of days since I got the RGSM sim, but believe me, it can't be worse than Airtel. I'v been quite happy with Idea as my primary phone though. It isn't perfect or anywhere close, but it has been my best experience with any telecom operator. IIRC, I get that error when I boot up. Not terribly sure if its there only while swapping SIMs... will check. No idea if it appears while downloading GPRS settings,etc., as I'm using it on a basic (no GPRS) phone (as its just a secondary phone used only for voice calls). For GPRS I'v been using Idea. You think taking the phone and showing the error at a RW will help?

Hiya dudes! I'm back with RCom, as I got a RGSM SIM couple days back. This is my secondary phone... want to get rid of Airtel, which has been my secondary phone. And the same, in short, has not been a pleasant experience. RCom GSM signal intensity seems to be stronger, at least at my residence and the plan in better for me. Now, ever since I have got the Reliance SIM, I get this 44'H,ME Error when the phone boots up. It stays on the screen until I press OK. It does not seem to be causing any apparent problem, as my connection in working well. Does anybody have any clue about this issue?

Whats the dilemma about?? You gotta wait a bit before you start getting reviews of the GSM service! After that you can decide. If you opt for GSM, you will at least be free of RCom/Qualcom's handset monopoly... and also get to choose from a much wider range of handsets. That itself could be the deciding factor!

Well, I pay only 25p for STD SMS on Idea... I-card Active plan. Local Idea to Idea is 10p. I guess they must have some SMS packs for normal plans too.

Voice connectivity is one issue, but what about SMS? When RIM was launched, it did not have SMS connectivity with at least BSNL... dont know about others. And Tata also in fact had SMS connectivity only within its own network. So chances are that initially the SMS connectivity may not be there or it may not be there with some operators. And why is everyone in such a hurry for it to release? Why is everyone so eager to get ripped off even more??

Don't know about Tamil Nadu; but here in Maharashtra circle, the redressal mechanism simply does not exist! Airtel simpy seems to have given dummy emails and phone numbers for their non-existent Nodal and Appellete Authority! The emails dont fetch any reply (you only get an auto-reply) and if you try to call on their phone numbers, they NEVER connect... not once!!! The numbers and email ids are a sham, given to show that they are confirming with regulations!

Well, someone's gotta be a perfect numskull to initiate an inquiry based on that... and it wont get anywhere, because I dunno anything myself... lol. Anyway, I deleted the post yesterday...

I dont understand... what possible trouble can come from that message? All Im syaing is that I'v myself wondered about the origin of such calls! My friend never told me... and I never really probed... and now I'm not in touch with him... so cant ask again.

What on earth do they replace every 2 months that cost Rs. 2,000??? I dont think any bike would need spare parts at that rate... if it does, its either faulty or not maintained...

Nokia sux to the core... not just in CDMA... have had a pretty bad experience with ther GSM also. Have mentioned my woes in the forum earlier, so wont repeat. They were absolutely adamant about not replacing it, even tho they could not repair it after 3 attempts! And yes, I did make a fuss, and escalate the complaint to their Regional head, etc.... no use. Nokia is cheap Chinese junk now. Best avoided. Now that you are already stuck with it, your best bet is to take your case to a consumer forum and claim all kinds of damages, expenses, intrest, refund, etc.

I recharged (e-recharge) my Idea with Rs. 234, less than a week back, and got full talk-time. So at least in Mah & Goa circle, you can get full TT. Hope they dont discontinue it...

Ya... RD 2030 is/was one of the most reliable and indestructible handsets ever! Don't count on finding another handset like that... and definitely not in CDMA!!

^^^ Pardon me for saying... but thats a VERY submissive attitude! I follow a very simple policy - I dont and wont pay for services/goods that I didnt recieve... and no giving in to fraud... no matter what! I suggest everyone here to follow the same principle. There is no use whining here if we dont do anything to change anything. And giving in to such things is very clearly encouraging perpetrators like these. With this kinda attitude, you can be pretty sure that things will remain as they are... and even go worse.

Not just lower tariffs... but hopefully better customer care and network quality...

Yes, creepy and spooky... RCom has employed spooks to haunt its network which help it to earn more revenue...

^^^ Also, its not like ALL Chinese mobiles have IMEIs that are not unique... but that some/many brands are indulging this practice!
