    A "chat" phone without even EDGE?? It will simply be really frustrating. And removed the trackpad too, which was an important advantage. Nokia X2-01 seems a better option now.
  7. Quite so. Only concern is if there are issues with custom ROMs... and the time required for doing all that. But if you are getting better hardware for lower price, its definitely worth it.

  9. Any info about Moto giving the Defy GB? Moto seems to have really bad rep. regarding updates and stuff. Or one will have to go the custom ROM way for GB? At the current price, it looks like a way better option than the already overpriced Wildfire S.
  10. Maybe they are trying these tricks to generate traffic? And its quite possible that visitors will end up buying other stuff. But I find it real frustrating. Many times I'v wasted time online, for different reasons, with no benefit. Now I'v wised up a bit on them. Online shopping should save time and hopefully money... else its not worth it, if you can buy stuff from brick and mortar stores after checking it out and grab the person in case of any issues.

If Liteon supplies drives to Sony, yet Sony drives are said to be better than Liteon, isn't it really strange that LiteOn is making crap for itself (or at least for Moser Baer) and better stuff for Sony? As for Plextor and Pioneer are they even available in India? Not seen them in shops and after seeing your post, checked on eBay too. None available. Asus are available on eBay; but prices are higher than LG drives available in shops here (not seen Asus in shops around my area at least). Do you think it will be a better buy compared to the cheaper LGs I can get in shops here?
  12. Got a Sony. I too had a liteon that didnt last even 2 years. I also have a sony which has been going on for about 4 years. Lately it started giving me problems (the tray wont open at all). So had to get a new one. The Moser Baer branded Liteon DVD writers were really bad - I have 2 other friends whose drives went bad just after just 1.5 years approx. Totally unacceptable. On the other hand, I have a LG CD writer that was good for over 5 years. It still works, but now its not reliable and works erratically. Time to chuck it all out. I'm inclined towards LG, but dunno how the current ones are.
  13. Which one did you buy? Any idea which brand Optical drives are currently the most reliable? The Moser Baer (Liteon) I had bought sometime ago did not last much... and as per their policy they don't repair. If its in warranty it is replaced. Else you just have to trash it.

    Dove used to be good a long time ago. Then, though external things like fragrance, color and everything remained the same, something suddenly changed. If I remember the price too dropped. Wonder if you guys have taken a look at the ingredients. In short, I'd not want it even at the above offer price. Heck, Ramdev's soaps (some, not all) are much better (and not tested on animals either, I'm sure). Though there are even better ones available. Ok, thats just one aspect. Another aspect - Lot more stuff online.

    I really wish well for him, as I have never seen him happy with anything. I find he has a knack of searching out the negatives, rather than looking at the positives... Whenever I see Racoon's post, one thing comes to my mind (no offense meant at all dear Racoon, just a general observation) - I cried for new shoes until I saw man without legs... Well, thats what it looks like, does it? Hmmm... well, I don't think I don't see the +ves, maybe I end up highlighting he -ves more because I run low on tolerance when it comes to "products" at least, lol! I knew the 1st part, but if the 2nd part of what you mentioned is true, then its really convenient. But you would still end up paying octroi twice, at least in Maharashtra, right? Anyway, frankly, buying stuff like footwear online is really dicy unless one has seen and/or tried the stuff on in a shop earlier...

    Hmm... I see. Let me see what Bestylish does. But this is really bad - supposing I have to return the footwear for some other reason like wrong size/fit/item/etc., and they resend it, I'll have to pay octroi all over again!!! Not a good deal then. And whats more, after buying so many things online, this is the 1st time a courier guy has asked for octroi!

    The courier guy came with the parcel today and asked for Octroi!! I refused to pay and called up Bestylish and asked how they expect me to pay Octroi. She told me not to accept the parcel and they will arrange to send it again without the demand for octroi. So had to send sent guy back. Now have to wait some more.
  20. As I can see above, last time they looted me was 19 May, 2011. Today, June 9, they try their luck once again. Rs. 3 vanished from my balance. They (customer care) allege I have downloaded an image of PRIYANKY CHOPRA (whoever that is) in the morning!! My data connection was not even active in the morning. This time I am attaching a picture of my account statement where it shows as 2GAmazingPriyankaCALL. Anybody who thinks that Tata companies and ethics are synonymous and all that seriously needs to do some rethinking. Docomo and Mr. Tata, this is really, really shameless!! Daylight robbery, and that too early in the morning itself! I can see that your resolve and commitment in competing with AirHELL.

  22. Wow... Ordered Wildfire S on friday & got the delivery on monday itself. Guy, its really a cool device & gingerbird does have some difference. HTC Sense adds to the show. I am happy to buy HTC over Samsung. Price wise, it costs around 1k less than Samsung ACE & only notable difference is 1250mah battery & 600 mhz processor. But, still, i feel it wins over galaxy ace. On positive side, its resolution is better than ace, it has 512 mb ram 512 mb rom. Phone manufacturers still seem to be taking the battery issue too lightly. HTC should have at least given a 1,500 mAh battery (like the O1). Its even less forgivable, given the higher price of the Wildfire S. According to reviews, even its camera does not impress. Would be great if you could comment on the cam and maybe post a few sample pics, after you try it out.
  23. You already got the charger from Dailydealbazaar.com?? I ordered 3 items. Fingers crossed about the quality. Did not get any chargers, etc.... wouldn't trust them.
