Ya, even SMS charges are not deducted in real time. As far as I know all other operators update pre paid usage in real time (correct me if I'm wrong). Dunno why Reliance has to be different...

You guys are forgetting another major problem with Reliance! That being, if a GSM user sends you an SMS which is bigger than 140/160 characters, the message simply will NOT get thru to you ...neither truncated nor in parts! Nothing!!

Reliance really needs to come out with similar plans for pre paid ...why should pre paid users be denied the data plans? They should come out with pre-paid cards of 650 and 1,500. But me not gonna take it unless they provide unbilled data usage!

If this is really true, then it sure is a major health hazard! You really shouldnt be satisfied even if your handsets are replaced or fixed! Take them to court and claim a lot of compensation...! Well, if those 440/220 vouchers wont be around, one more advantage of RIM along with free R-World will be out! The only reason Im still with RIM is because of the 440/220 vouchers... TRAI has done a really wonderful job ...the only operator offering this facility now may have to roll it back...

R World is working on my mobile... Try resetting the R-Menu from the R-World menu option. Rebooting after that might help...

You could consider using voicemail when you are on the net. Its free, but you have to pay local RIM to RIM charge for retreiving msgs. I guess that should be free too, with 440/220 voucher...

Amongst the apps (for measuring throughput) I'v used and heard of, OnlineEye Pro is perhaps the best. Next perhaps would be DU Meter. Both these apps. can be made to alert you whenever your data or time usage exceeds the specified amount. But both are shareware ...which dosent necessarily have to be a huge problem...

Webmaster, pinging by any means will PREVENT you from getting incoming calls while on R-Connect!

I wouldnt take that as a very good indication - it may go ok for some people and not so for others! Unbilled usage details are absolutely necessary.

No, the application is very much there on my RD2030. I think DAPO users should celebrate! Unfortunately, it dosent seem to be possible to send out fwds using this app. And RIM's high SMS tariffs make such an app. not very viable for non DAPO users!

Id tried something like that with my BSNL landline ...when they were advertising their closed user group. I asked them to do that with the number of my ISP ...at that time it started with '8'. At the exchange they told me we are not intrested what you use if for ...just give your application ...and as long as its technically possible (they said its not possible for all numbers), Id get it. I gave my app. ...and after few days they tell me its techincally not possible to include that number for the CUG (or centrex, or whatever they call it). Well, I dont know what exactly the problem was, but I dont see a problem why they should not provide a local ISP number as CUG ... as long as its possible for normal voice calling. I mean if u can stay connected 24 hrs for a voice call on the same line, why not for internet access?
