Thats an old trick used my politicians - start making a fuss with non issues ...so the real issues will remain in the dark. Sometime back, the police were dictating that cyber cafes should not have cubicles/partitions, and cafe owner should ensure that no customer accesses 'obscene' material, etc. I wonder what makes policemen belive they know whats good and whats bad for other people. If this continues, the day isn't far off when they will dictate what people should and shouldnt do in their own bedrooms. And Id really like to know, if even the mobile companies are guilty, then what about internet service providers? They were and are as much a party to the thing. And then what about the phone lines thru which the ISPs operate? And the computers / TVs which play the stuff? What about the power companies which run ALL the gadgets? It dosent take too much insight to see that the law is an a** made by asses! Actually asses are smarter ...I can vouch for that! I'd really agree with that ...but obviously it does not suit the police's vested intrests. Acting discreetly dosent help when you want to be in the limelight! And obviously they want to be seen doing 'something' ...who cares even if they are non-issues! After all, lot of people do buy their games (we can see that right here). Police and the legal system are not the antidote to societies ills; they are part of the problem!

Wowwww guys ....thanks so much to ALL of you ...Arun, Ashok, Static, Deepu, Vishal, Tanveer & Niket ....you've made my day! Love you all!

Guys, I had recharged after converting to pre paid and tonight my validity (not balance) ran out and I'm unable to access R World also. I belive there is a way to activate R World (like R Connect) without recharging and tried to find it on this site but got hopelessly lost in the maze of posts! I don't want to or need to recharge just yet but really would like to access R World (don't need R Connect); so could someone just tell me how to access after validity period is over, please?
-
Thanks Ashok, very helpful! But you just gave me a better idea ...why dont I get a whole new handset instead of just GSK?
-
Saurav, you better "upgrade" to RD 2030 then... I agree, none of the new handsets seems to measure up. Thats why Im going to stick to my 2030 for sometime. If nothing good enuf comes up soon, might as well go GSM. Plenty good handsets there. Only number change will be a pain.
-
My pre paid validity just got over ...and Im unable to access R-World with the old trick! Is it working for anybody else? Anybody found any other way to get onto R-World after validity period?
-
Mine is same: Ver. 15, PRL 1
-
Well, the prob dosent seem to be there on my RD2030.
-
And whadda ride RIM is giving us...!
-
Rather than "reversing the phase-neutral" by plugging charger in reverse, you should check if the phase is connected on the right pin in the wall socket. This can be quite imp., esp. for your comp., etc.
-
Munna, you seem to have forgotten that its useful for sending to other Reliance phones only! Dunno about you, but not of much use to me as 95% people I have to call are on GSM!
-
Never had that problem with my RD 2030. Perhaps you should have gotten that looked into as well!
-
Amtrag, can you promise me that Reliance will look into the math that you have stated, in case they do produce a fancy bill at the end of the month? And btw, there are other threads on Rimweb itself where many people have actually recieved absurd bills for data usage! Just check them out... Bottomline is, if they expect me to subscribe, I expect them to provide to the second usage statistics on their website, the way VSNL, NetOne etc, are doing. Period!
-
Guys, guys ...before you assume that you know what is good for someone else, please reconsider! Who is some one to tell the other how to lead their lives? Are you sure you are doing it all quite right yourselves? Yes, the caveat should be that it does not infringe anybody else's "space" or harm anyone, etc, of course! Who has sex ...who dosen't ...is entirely their own business! Why do pesky Principals, parents, and the tribe think otherwise??? And if at 17 guys are still crippled with authority, perhaps they will remain as retards forever! As far as cell phones go ...I'd grudingly say some control on video phones may be understandable because they sure can be used to infringe on your privacy.

Rim Goes Ten-digit In Massive Pan-india Operation
raccoon replied to rahulmalik_81's topic in Reliance Communications
In Poona dialling old no. returns the msg "This number has been changed. Dial 93250 to get new number". -
Amtraq ...let us not be so naive! Ok, limit is 1 GB ...what if RIM tells us we have consumed 2 GB at the end of the month? Just calculate how much u'd pay then!! And with Reliance's reputation, they are quite capable! Besides, even if their billing is perfect, it is very difficult to keep a tab at our end ...besides it has to tally at their end too! Platinum plan is too expensive for normal domestic use. Im just going to stick to my BSNL dedicated line (Rs. 499/month) for now ...untill something cheaper and/or faster comes up.
-
You should get the Samsung CC to look it pronto ...esp. if its still under warranty! And as far as Reliance phones go, they seem to be known to run hotter ...wonder if that makes them more explosive!

Rim Goes Ten-digit In Massive Pan-india Operation
raccoon replied to rahulmalik_81's topic in Reliance Communications
I did notice some issues. Like for eg., sometimes when I called my old 8 digit no. thru another phone I got the "phone switched off" msg. And immediately after when I called the new 10 digit no. it said "phone not reachable". And actually my cell was switched off! Also, on 30 Nov., outgoing was barred for sometime ...not sure how long... Couldnt get the helpdesk either! Not sure I i lost any incoming calls also. It resumed on its own after few hours ..could't even complain cus even CC number wasn't working! -
Iquara broadband sales guy paid me a visit. Said they provide very detailed usage report on their website. Something like what VSNL & BSNL NetOne provide even for dial up. Don't know what others are doing ...perhaps users of other services here can tell us.... Unless Reliance provides something like that you guys should think more than once before subscribing!
-
But why do people subscribe if they think it lacks transparency, consistency, etc? No use cribbing when you have a fair chance of knowing whats going to happen! There are many other options now; and you don't really need internet access from your mobile unless you need laptop internet access while you are travelling, etc. Besides your battery life would be affected and also your ph. would remain engaged... ***Guys beware of plans with data limit! *** They are NOT providing any way to check usage. You won't know until the bill "hits" you at the end of the month (or more!).
-
Not really good looking... besides, like most other Nokia phones, screen quality won't be up to the competition - only 4096 colours!
-
I really wonder why port 465 dosen't like me...
-
But which port ru using for SMTP? And which mail client?
-
Well, apparently Gmail's recommended port 465 isn't working for me (Outlook). Changed it to 587 ...and SMTP seems to be working fine now!

I dialled *412 yesterday ...just to check. I got IVR msg: "Request accepted". Got a confirmation SMS also after couple of mins.
