sounds too good to be true

even if we cant get to the internet, maybe we can discover the method used to send MMS and/or SMS into the network!! That way we would not be bound by the presence/absence of RIM's MMS application on the handset

vishal i was able to open a few other ricinfo.com URLs. There is a web server listening on port 8080 and 8888 as well. I m going to try and port scan the IP address range, lets see if we can idenfity any SMTP servers. if you want to try check out these URLs Service Selection Gateway: http://ssg.wdsat.ricinfo.com/ssg Actual Apps are here http://consapp.wdsat.ricinfo.com:8888

i will switch to N6225 the day it is released... imagine using BT to pair up my palm and surfing the net with rconnect while in a meeting. i will attain gadget nirvana
-
its horribly expensive... i read that the monthly subscription is almost 2k

most of these should be RUIM based.. in that case exsting GTRAN users will have benefit since they have a RUIM chip with them to break free of reliance domination. the best part of nokia phones is the battery life: see the specs of nokia 6225: Power Management6: Battery: BLD-3 Li-Ion Talk time: Up to 2hr 20 mins Standby time: Up to 10 days

hey i have signed up and sent some test email to the new account. still have not got them (its over an hour)... wonder y its so slow.
-
i use shareaza... its quite good. i connect to gnutella II and ed2k networks
-
one more glaring example of how gtran users are being sidelined by reliance. they did not even bother to develop proper rworld software for number change
-
these ones are not as good as the ones that tata has introduced. Plus the photo shows a handset which has not been introduced. i m still waiting for a bluetooth enabled handset in reliance....
-
has LG released any software updates for this phone?
-
the phone can also work on its own... its called "fake RUIM mode" where the phone uses its own ESN instead of the one on the RUIM chip. however, in this case the fake ruim mode is disabled. hence, the phone is unable to logon to the network and HENCE, no time display. in summary, the phone gets time data from the network - no network no time display
-
if the intention is to prove that the handset is getting the time information from RIM towers, do wot i did - i removed the RUIM card in my gtran and switched it on... the handset doesnt show any time at all.
-
maybe RIM is blocking the IP addresses for Yahoo and MSN Wap portals, are there any WAP based proxies that can bypass this limitation?
-
Redshift: RIM is supposed to be 3g... one more wireless technology comming up rapidly is Wireless USB (WUSB). Its a direct competitor to bluetooth. Its being pushed by a consortium that includes intel, M$, HP, NEC, etc.

Credit Limit On Reliance Postpaid Subscribers
gadget_monk replied to bellamkonda's topic in Reliance Communications
we also had this problem on our FWP connection, and after repeated complaints the prob got partly addressed - the solution is to register ur connection in a corporate name instead of individual. Secondly, move up to the highest billing plan (1500 rent in our case). these will automatically increase your credit limit -
Tata has introduced a range of new nokia handsets - finally these look as good as the GSM counterparts and have some good features as well - fm radio, colour screens. The batteries are also high capacity. looks like we should get some reviews on these soon. i would love to use one of these with my RIM connection
-
does anyone have an idea of how to use tata's RUIM enabled handsets with a relaince RUIM. i have a reliance RUIM with my gran

nokia 6255 is a classic... its probably one of the few cdma phones to have bluetooth and one of the few camera phones to have a flash
-
BSNL internet is quite good.. i too have been using it since quite long. Even the GSM network of BSNL sounds good.. now only if they introduce GPRS internet on it... then i would junk reliance.

Reliance To Launch High-end Handsets
gadget_monk replied to AmanJ's topic in Reliance Communications
the worst part is no flexibility in handsets. i wrote to the chairman that i am ready to buy my own handset and they have to program it to connect to reliance network... but they keep refusing. they say value adds like rworld will not run - big deal i dont need them anyways!!! their policies are so inflexibile. -

the nokia phones seem to be good value. They have been launched in gujarat too. Compared to the RIM LG camera phones these have FM radio, IR, better interface and nokia build quality for about the same price. I observed on 3gtoday.com that these phones are RUIM compatible. Can i plug in a reliance ka RUIM into one of these phone and get it on reliance network without any fancy footwork?
-
what about the other two models? plus they are not much higher then RIM.. esp considerting the fact that it incl 1Lakh seconds of talk time.
