Hi, You can upload ringtones using BITPIM. Its a small software. More about it, you can find on this link: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=769 Only thing is that this topic covers bitpim..using 2030 model. But don't worry...the process of using bitpim is same. Also... I deviated a bit from this process. I downloaded ringtones from R world and simply renamed the ringtones that I wanted to upload to that file name and uploaded it using bitpim... and it worked. Wud suggest u go thru this topic first and then if u need more help..lemme know!

mayank..there are many freebee softwares available that convert wav to MIDi... even PSM player does that..but many a times it throws an error coz of some wav format... there are softwares like audio to midi3.0, midi mastero, widi 3.0 etc. Some of them need cracks to make it work in full mode. The best way to get started is dude..find some good midis...don't bother about the size...use PSM Player..and edit it as per your choice. guys... for the past 2-4 days I am stuck with a sexy wav piece of veer zara intro but can't find it to desired format when I convert it to midi thru any of the softwares. any more freebies software that you guys know that can convert wav to a real good midi? will try to make these ringtones soon. No u can't directly convert using PSM Player. First you need to convert it into wav and then using psm player u can convert it into MIDI. There are many softwares available on the net that converts it into wav. But somehow thu this process the quality of the midi/song i feel kinda goes out. I am on a look out for a midi software that retains as much beats as possible from wav. I have Midi Mastero 3.0 and another audio to midid convertor..but m not too happy with its quality. At times the results are good...at times... naaah! So till that time... I just hunt on the net for midi songs... and then edit it to suit our phone size thru PSNplayer.

glad u liked it vijay. Didn't know..that they can be used for gtran also. ....m getting some cheap thrills these days experimenting with PSNplayer...converting songs into midis or finindg most of it on net and reducing time of it to make it compatable for our phones ... expect some more from me soooon!!

Hey code..how do u get hold of the link thru bitpim? Can u elaborate on that? For eg: I sent a sms to the no..and received a message but when I connected..it said...R World is not ready. After that, how do I trace it thru Bitpim.

I tried doing this.. the sms went and I got a MMS message saying run? When I did that it took me to r-world and an error message came saying R world not ready. But the funny part is in my MMS folder..I can't see the message

Yahoooooo! I have managed to upload it thru Bitpim!!..my 1st ring tone... aaaonaaaa... ... but hey guys...the funny thng is i didnt change the hex code. I mean i tried to..but the 0001111 s were all non editable. So what I did was just rename my midid file to the one thats there in rworld. and bingo! it worked.

Has anyone on this forum used Bitpim for LG 7230? Does it works? If yes, which version of the software and how to make it work? I have managed to use MMS to upload ringtones on my phone...can hear it.... but the trouble it it still doesn't save. Anyone knows what cud be the problem?

if ur pc sync cd is giving a problme...drop a line to lg help centre. They will send u a new cd which will help u solve the problem. That's what happend with me when I bought the phone. In 3 days I had the new cd with me :-)

when ur phone goes into sleep mode ( the screen goes black)..... clicking on the button..activiates it back ...

I think what 7230 lacks is: 1) a radio 2) speaker phone. The address book is also much better than other models like 2030. The ph comes with 32 MB in built memory space..which is gud enuff for storing tons of videos and photos and reasonable resolution. I have stored nearly 50 high res pics and over 30 high res video clippings b4 the memory card got full.

some more optimsed snaps.... and guys... out of the high res snaps..u can even make cool wallpaper for ur comp.

Can u upload midi files as ringtones in LG 7230. i can do this in GTran by PC sync. if u require camera then LG 7230 is good option. but even 7230 gives stamp size photo which is of no use. 14339[/snapback] 1st thing 1st. The image size is NOT just stamp size. The max size is 640x480. In that size also..u have the option of clicking image in various resolutions (High, med, low). You even have the otpion of clicking B&W snaps. There are 2 other sizes in which u can click the snaps. The 7230 also has the facility of shooting multiple shots in split second. So u can click fast paced shots (upto 6 shots) in a sequence. The ringtones of 7230 are any day better than the rest. You can go to any ww and hold gtran and 7230 and check these features out. check out some of the snaps

I would prefer 7230 over GTRAN anyday coz of loads of reasons. I have seen GTRAN in operation and it's nowhere in the league with 7230. amongst the two, 7230 is loaded with rich features. Even looks wise 7230 is more elegant than GTRAN. I dont think there is any probs with pcsync sof of 7230. I find it very userfriendly and eay to operate. The pics and video quality of 7230 is also amazing.

yes u can transfer pics into comp from ur phone... U can even transfer pics from ur comp into the phone. there r lot many thing su can do with the phone. U can create ur own screensaver and upload it on ph. Imagine each time u bump into ur fiancee or gf..and she flip opens the ph and sees her own screensaver... ur paisa vasool ..... u can also make small video clippings and download it on to ur comp. There is still no way of uploading movies on to ph yet. Price wise..i feel they should have added few more features..like a built in radio... or a speaker ph function..or the capability to record audio while recording video. The IRDA function is useless..coz its only compatable with similar phones having same facility.

Hi guys... I also had similar problems with my Link Starter software. I dropped a mail to LG helpline...and they told me that my CD version was old and couriered me a new software CD. Pls check out ur version too. If the CD doesn't have Ver.1.1 printed on it...that means you have old software. Just drop a mail to helpline@lgmobiles.com and tell them abt this problem..and they will send u the new CD. Was pretty impressedwith their service. Had dropped a mail on Friday..and today morning got the CD also!!!

my linkstarter is giving me problems (as mentioned in a separate question on the forum). I have still not found soultion for it. Somewhere on the forum I had read about BitPim. I have downloaded that but it seems it doesn't work for RD7230. Has anyone tried it for this model? If yes, any different settings/config that you have to do? I have win XP as OS. Btw... anyone...pls do let me know why I am getting the problems with the original link starter software.

Hi guys... need a help. I have purchased LG RD 7230. I installed the softwares and the drivers that came in the CD as per the instructions given in the pdf manuals. My LG Desktop 1.0 application is working perfectly..and can syncronize my phonebook with PC..add tasks etc and all.. but my LG Link Starter software is NOT WORKING ... after selecting the COM port...when i click on the read phone item button..and after entering username/password....i get an winows error message box (it says send error report n all to microsoft..and describestechno **** about the problem) and the software shuts down... so does the phone. .....My OS is WIN XP. Does anyone knows why I am facing this prob? I tried installing software on other machiens as well..(all XP)..but same result .... I have attached the error msg box

nahi mahi..its still not working.... when I select compatability option and later select the port...the pop up doesn't show me any ports listed. So I agaion have to revert back to select compatability for xp or win 2000 to see the listed ports. Even while selecting 2000 i still get the same error. I am kinda confused on how it worked ysday and its not working today at all. Btw..do u have any idea on bitpim....does it work for 7230..coz its not working for me.
